There are only a handful of robes overall as well for plate classes. You'd get more options with leather because druid/monk get shitloads of robes for everyone else to piggyback off of.

In what? Optimization? Gameplay? I would say yes. I've been playing since launch day, and it keeps getting better at both aspects. Cool new casual game modes keep getting added, and they are pretty fun if you're not into the competitive side of things.
