At least before they make her an antagonist (Which honestly still seems kinda forced to me)But there's also the fact that, in the bonus chapters it's revealed that she's faking her entire personality and actually isn't all too different from Anon. Which also leads into her acting as sort of a mirror of Fang in some respects since both of them are living a lie and trying to pretend to be people who they aren't. She's one of the more interesting potential pairings since the game actually establishes things about her character that a writer can actually DO stuff with that doesn't end up deviating from canon a ton.

Or rather, it depends on the timeline you get.She's absolutely correct on the E1 route; is the Cassandra of the game, essentially; and is the only one who notes that Fang is getting worse.She's also right on the E2 route in that Fang needs someone to fix her, but instead Anon pumps her up and bloats her ego and selfishness.She's actually the most dislikeable on E3, where she still isn't satisfied with what Anon has achieved, even though she notes it's the right direction.And on E4 Fang is just a fucking hypocrite, because Anon absolutely came in and fixed all her problems for her.

It didn't really need to be in, and removing it would only require a handful of rewrites. Compare it to Trish's role as an antagonist where, short of swapping her out for another character, a huge chunk of the game would need to be rewritten if that got taken out

Naomi’s whole plotting was to showcase that Fang was basically being robbed of her agency, something that made her fully and truly break down when Anon mentioned to her that she’s the one that basically pushed them together. That was a final straw that leads into the most tragic ending of the game.So IMO can’t call it forced, it just showcases Naomi overstepping her own bounds and is another aspect in Fang having other people determine for her.
