I’m 26, almost 27. My parents are getting older. My dad is 64 and has knee problems. My mom is 59, has liver issues, is often tired, and her eyesight is starting to fail. I work and study now instead of just studying full-time. I miss my old life, where I only focused on studying. I’m unsure what comes next. Right now, I’m focused on finishing my degree, saving money, and trying to get a better job. My parents tell me not to worry and to focus on work, saving money, finishing my degree, and staying healthy, but I feel like I should be doing more. What would you do in my position? What practical steps should I be taking right now to help my parents in the future?

>>80200914The way to get more experience is to work and if you want a better paying job getting a degree helps a lot.Is your current job just something to get money or it is an entry to the field your are studying?For example if you work at a fast-food and want to get into IT then getting an entry level job into IT that pays less makes sense.

If you want more money within your job try to learn related skills and ask for more important tasks so you can rise faster, maybe ask for extra-hours, etc. Even if you can't grow a lot at your current place always try to accumulate things to show future employers.I don't think you should try earning outside your job now because you are already working and studying, unless it is simple internet jobs.
