Sleepy Judy is awake!
Even after all these years, I can’t stop jorking it to Judy. Maybe I should buy that sex doll after all.

>>80258326Hmm, the style kinda reminds me of Birchly, but the way of drawing Judy is different.
>>80259124ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE!
Gideon spin-off soon
>>80259124well, 2029 is the year of the rooster, I can see this really be a thing that happens. But I really really do believe that wild/domestic birds would do a better service to the world-building than just trying to force some ethnicity on the birds when birds are just as diverse as mammals.
Just about to comment how the last thread lasted almost two whole days! Then when I went to refresh, I saw it got archived immediately lolI was gonna even start a new one but my one credit gym class started before I had the chance.I hope everyone is feeling great this morning! Also, to the people who commented on my idea for the fic, I took your considerations and implemented some of them! Won't spoil anything just yet, but the outline has been updated to feature them.Time to farm some engagement in the meanwhile, so I've got a couple questions for you all, if you'll indulge me :DD>Do you think Pawbert deserves redemption? On screen?Me personally, I'd love for a series on Zootopia to expand on this. Since Bellweather never got a redemption (she was always evil btw), I do doubt that they will actually do it in Z3. I like Samberg's goofy voice acting a lot, and I think it elevated his character to be more like-able than the creators expected. One of the stranger pairings (that makes a lot of sense actually) is Pawbert and Gideon. Gideon being current goofball, and Pawbert being potential goofball of course.>Would you ACTUALLY watch the Zootopia TV series if it did become a thing?I would say if they do get a continuation this way, it'll be treated like Big Hero 6. 2D animation, with involvement of the original creators. Furthermore, I really doubt that Zootopia Plus is gonna get much of a continuation considering they are using the same resources to make the movies. Just those 6 episodes alone made up about 50~ minutes of finished product, and that's almost half of one movie.Credit: @nikomi_otaku
>Do you think Pawbert deserves redemption? On screen? For me, he doesn't want redemption. It is the same of saying to bellwether that big mammals who consistently humiliated her were bad people and that she was wrong to believe them all to be bad, and expecting her to say they are right and become a good person in jail. My man actually has convictions.>Would you ACTUALLY watch the Zootopia TV series if it did become a thing?Probably, but we're talking of Disney IPs, everything that happens on side work is ignoreable, so I guess it would be the most slop content ever.
>>80259578I'm built like this...
>>80259854>But I really really do believe that wild/domestic birds would do a better service to the world-building than just trying to force some ethnicity on the birds when birds are just as diverse as mammals. They honestly would, it'd be great for the predators of the world to actually have more food sources than bugs and fish. The feather at the end seems to dictate that the creators have a direction they're gonna be pushing towards, so who knows? To be honest, I was sort of disappointment by the amount of diversity reptiles had in the movie? I get that it's supposed to be a small population in Marsh Market, but they all looked sort of the same just scaled up. A little freaky to see a basilisk to be similar in size to a red fox.Credit: @ssusu0913
>>80259887Just got back from gym and made some Indian Lentil Dal to munch on while I read this. Hope your day is fine as well.Im not a big Pawbert fan, I really dont get the appeal honestly, so Im gonna say no on the redemption point. Seems to me the writers themselves wanted to try and erase that notion by double and Trippling down on him doing bad for selfish reasons.I wouldnt hate him getting a Z++ episode though, enough people like him so I say give him something there, but preferably not Z3.TV series as in more than Z+ was? Id watch anything good really, or mediocre if Im starved enough I suppose. But as you say, preferably not something that takes away focus from a truly great third film instead. If they REALLY decided to go all in on a TV show, then something cool to do would be after Z3, if its the last movie, to go back to the original Shock Collar idea and rework that into a sort of AU story in series format.Lots of people seem to be interesting in that anyway.
no but seriously though what the hellzebrowski is not a zebra
>>80260245Hehe yes anon we know, dont worry if you didnt get a response last thread, its just old news here.
>>80260027>to be honest, I was sort of disappointment by the amount of diversity reptiles had in the movie?Yeah, and the designs weren't even that appealing, the geckos were the only cute ones, all the others were super weird. and they only had like 5 designs.-large tortoise-basilisk lizard like Jesus,-generic lizards (like the bartender)-long necked monitor lizards (like the cowgirl that hit on Nick) -small geckosmaybe there were some more in the shadows that we didn't see and will be better at picking up once the movie is out in digital 4k, but until then, they did seem rather limited, with very meager screentime, which is just another reason I think they were a last minute addition to the story.>They honestly would, it'd be great for the predators of the world to actually have more food sources than bugs and fish.it's not even jut about the food source. I would be fine if eating birds would be frowned upon, like eating horse and bunnies or cats or dogs or parrots in our world. But wild birds fill up so many function in the wild from controlling insect population, eating the fruits and berries and spreading their seed in the world, and overall just the idea of Judy and Nick going camping and the forest being dead silent instead of hearing bird songs is horribly dystopian to me.
>>80260245funny how people have picked this up since the first trailers, and everyone had theories of how it will tie-in about the Nick's and Judy's partner difference but it never got addressed. I hate the zebros, and they would've deserved to be taken down a peg or two
there should be more porn of the zebros
>>80260336it will be a busking gagalso yeah on reptiles, they were so fucking scared people would think they are icky if they got any detail on them.
>>80260362what do you mean they're awesome
>>80260362>everyone had theories of how it will tie-in about the Nick's and Judy's partner difference but it never got addressed.Actually made me pretty upset that this wasn't a bigger theme of the movie.
>Bellwether captures Judy>Bellwether is about to get caught by Nick>In desperation, Bellwether puts up her wool to look like bunny ears>It works>Bellwether responds to all of Nick's questions and statements by saying generic bunny puns like "I carrot a lot about you" and "I'm hopping you'll be happy with this.">Also works.>Both a tied up and gagged Judy and a confused Bellwether have to be bewildered at Bellwether's triumphant rise up the ranks of the ZPD and successful romance with Nick based on her having fake bunny ears and saying "I could go for a ra-bite to eat" whenever people need a response from her.
>>80260443>birds being busking gagso it will be just Rio in Zootopia, all about singing and dancing and love? I mean... if it brings canon wildehopps, I'm okay with it, but I still rather have them as wild birds.>also yeah on reptiles, they were so fucking scared people would think they are icky if they got any detail on them. Its a mixed bag, of not enough detail at some parts, and too much detail at others.Like Jesús's lips. I know they sort of realistic for a basilisk lizard, but at the same time, other zootopia animal dont have lips and it makes him feel out of place, like he came from a different cartoon.
>>80260401I want them to spitroast Gazelle.
>>80260853aftermath of them winning the fight vs gazelle and the tigers in the tent
>>80260814>>80260443>>80260336I think we all would have liked a more rango approach for lizards, texture wise, anyway.
My favorite part is when the fox ejaculates into the rabbit.
>>80260362>>80260452>>80260635 Yeah I agree, I dont get why it was never revealed at the end as a sort of play on Nick and Judy accepting and appreciating their differences. They even appear at the end in partners in crisis as one tells the other his name. Why not use this as the moment to admit hes not a Zebra?I guess it was meant for the audience to find as a detail, or they just ran out of time. While they can be cheesy, I will say that some of the kids I saw in theaters really love em. I can see the appeal, but if they dont develop a character arc with them I just dont have much interest.

>>80261245Which fox and which rabbit?
>>80260805
>>80260135>Seems to me the writers themselves wanted to try and erase that notion by double and Trippling down on him doing bad for selfish reasons. >I wouldnt hate him getting a Z++ episode though, enough people like him so I say give him something there, but preferably not Z3. They really hammered home that Pawbert didn't want to be redeemed. He literally says that he doesn't wanna be different, then when he's with his family he said he's doing all this for the family and for his father ("For you, daddy!"), then before he gets fry panned he says "I'm a real Lynxley!" I mean it seems almost comical how much they wanted to say "this is a bad guy!! he is not a good guy!!"But regardless he really captured the hearts of a good portion of the fans. That's why I think they might actually give him an episode in the (potential, hypothetical) series.>If they REALLY decided to go all in on a TV show, then something cool to do would be after Z3, if its the last movie, to go back to the original Shock Collar idea and rework that into a sort of AU story in series format. Now that would be really fun. Sort of how Marvel Zombies has it's own show now. Though that show is sort of a mixed bag, they really didn't commit to the MA rating. I would absolutely love the AU story to be told through a series perspective, but it would have to be absolutely clear that it would be not canon to the films. It'd be hard to disconnect it, especially if we still have Nick and Judy involved.>>80260336>and they only had like 5 designs. That's what really bugs me. There's a lot of variation of reptiles (they're a whole animal group after all!) yet they re-used a lot of the same reptilian species.>eating birds would be frowned upon, like eating horse and bunnies or cats or dogs or parrots in our world. Hm, actually this makes a lot of sense. Treating them as companions rather than food. It'd a little weird that we had no mention of them or appearance in canon tho.Credit: @yyyyunl
>>80260805>based on her having fake bunny ears and saying "I could go for a ra-bite to eat" whenever people need a response from her.I didn't read this until now but this is fucking so funny. Judy's entire appearance and recognition being her rabbit ears and rabbit based puns according to everyone at the ZPD is hilarious. Bellweather exploiting this to the max until she grows a blonde toupee and becomes Mayor of the City again.

>>80261700(pic)DON'T YOU HURT NICK!!
>>80261446> but it would have to be absolutely clear that it would be not canon to the filmsI could see it being possible. It would probably take Nick as the main protagonist. Im a fan of the Zistopia comic and Im sure they could do something similar or whatever ideas they had before finishing Z1.Imagine towards the end if they have some sort of falling out and Nick solemnly says "Maybe in another world you and I could be something." almost referencing the movies in a way.
>>80261446i don't think it would be THAT weird, if you watch a regular movie, or tv series, you don't see a dog or birds unless it actually relates to the plot in some way.We just don't happen to have seen the inside of a lot of mammals homes to see their pets, and maybe the main plaza is a no pet-zone, like how there are dog-parks and no-dog parks
>>80261700>Maybe he literally does not know. It's rare but sometimes horses have stripes, and it's possible that he was adopted or something so he never questioned it.I thought the giveaway for him not being a Zebra was that in certain shots you could kinda see the outline of where the white and stripes stop, like they are painted on but dont cover 100%. In which case he should know. That and the hair I guess.

>>80259330>style kinda reminds me of BirchlyOddly, I find the 'Judy in Nick's shirt', more typical of Birchly's style than the 'Pool Judy' work. \oo/
>>80261841I image this is how Judy sees Nick in her fantasies.
I love it when he poops on my dickIf he eats spicy food the day before, it means he loves me
>>80261446>I would absolutely love the AU story to be told through a series perspective, but it would have to be absolutely clear that it would be not canon to the films. It'd be hard to disconnect it, especially if we still have Nick and Judy involved.>>80260135to go back to the original Shock Collar idea and rework that into a sort of AU story in series format.I was recently thinking on that disney show Phineas and Ferb in which the creators went full post-apocalyptic dystopian 2nd dimension world and made a whole movie on the characters living in a parallel universe, the idea was kinda cool, although the movie was for kids, it was pretty entertaining. I don't think a whole movie would fit the collar plot since it is already more darker than whatever they did with P&F movie but I would love to see a glimpse of that world in a series episode at least too. That would leave the general audience (that doesn't know about the original plot) wanting to know more of that AU and maybe making it into a short series or somethingPs. Sorry for the angsty pic btwsource: @SukiiWake
>>80261876>Imagine towards the end if they have some sort of falling out and Nick solemnly says "Maybe in another world you and I could be something." almost referencing the movies in a way.Why would you do that to me. That's so sad

>>80262698I wish I could've retooled the pacing of this and added maybe one more page, because a lot of lines got cut out for already being too condensed and wordy. You can't cram too many words into a small space without losing the audience.I wanted there to be more explicit rumination on the species difference. I know it's the underlying theme and subtext for most of the comic already and I don't think it fails to come through. It's not terribly subtle! But I do wish I'd been able to put it to words a bit more. A lot of the reason Judy is so despondent is that she just assumes they CAN'T be together because of their species difference. That it's not even a possibility. That Nick wouldn't be willing to cross the species boundary, that his date with Jenny was proof he only wanted a fox. Wishing he'd been a bunny so a relationship would've been possible. It's also part of why she reacts the way she does during her somnophilic trespass, of course. "Oh look, turns out his body likes bunny just fine"
>dolphin appears for an attosecond before never appearing again, not even a single underwater segment in the movieYou know these motherfuckers were trying to keep the dolphin hidden because of the rapist dolphins meme

>>80263085You wrote and drew the most memorable comic in the Zoot fan universe -- the thought that there was MORE to it makes it even better.I remember you changed it on the fly to remove a non-consensual part. I really admire the fact you were willing to do that, even 'tho it meant changing your vision of how the story should play out.
>>80262839I'm currently reading one that is incomplete (I don't know why am I doing this to me), but enjoying the ride at least. Having more fics to read is a bless nonetheless. Thank you so much for the recommendation. Are there more like that? that are completed/have most of the plot completed and well written?
>>80263032Do you have the complete comic link?
>>80263228I was about to say that's like saying that when you see Nick or a fox your first thought is "knot"so yeah thanks for proving my point
>>80263085I know you don't see them as a couple Weave, but if Disney does make them one, would you like them to touch on the interspecies thing? I kinda hope they do, if they canonize them. I know that it is a thing in universe, but as in reality I doubt everyone is thrilled with it. I'd like to see Nick and Judy both stick up for each other, or maybe be annoyed that they have to deal with it at all but are still willing to because fuck 'em they love each other.
>>80263421It's called, 'The Sloshed Fox', by Weaver obviously, here's the pool on E6;https://e621.net/pools/8366

>>80263766That's pretty much it aye
>>80263336>I remember you changed it on the fly to remove a non-consensual part.Tell me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression the SFW edit was made by someone else? I remember reading Weaver's explanation on the inclusion of the intrusion somewhere in a different forum. How Judy felt that this was the last time they'll ever truly be together, so she felt that she had to clutch onto it any way how.
>>80263336>I remember you changed it on the fly to remove a non-consensual parti mean there's definitely still a nonconsensual part, judy molests nick in his sleeporiginally it was a more porn focused story -- nick was going to grab her ass while she was undressing him and once he was out she was going to play with him a lot morebut the intro was a lot heavier than i anticipated and i ran with it>>80263766Events of the movie happen pretty much as we see them up to the point Bellwether is arrested. Then Nick and Judy sort of drift apart, and Nick never applies to become a cop.
>>80263901Unless I am just mixing another non-consentual part. I'm not exactly a known historian of this place, so I apologize if I encroach.

>>80263399>Are there more like that?Of the hundreds I've read, I feel there was three fairly good ones, but can't for the life of me remember their titles..There was an epic one written in the dystopian vein (although I don't think it had shock collars), which really drags you along.I may have mentioned earlier, 'Kitsunegari', this is areal roller coaster of action;https://archiveofourown.org/works/10201733/chapters/22646174
>>80263971you literally mentioned it in the context of the filmyou watched a kid's movie in a theater, saw a dolphin character, and your brain immediately went "I bet the filmmakers downplayed this character to avoid dolphin rape memes"you're the one who needs a shrink, brother
>>80264047
>>80263923>i mean there's definitely still a nonconsensual part, judy molests nick in his sleep>originally it was a more porn focused story -- nick was going to grab her ass while she was undressing him and once he was out she was going to play with him a lot more>but the intro was a lot heavier than i anticipated and i ran with itI'm just a writer, so I have the freedom to make on-the-fly changes and not have it cost too much in terms of my time and effort. To be able to do that on the fly -and- draw it must be like spinning plates.
>>80264047Apart from the blatant (and irrelevant) advertising, it's good embroidery.
>>80264066Does the 'Lope spin plates?
>>80263923>originally it was a more porn focused story -- nick was going to grab her ass while she was undressing himOh! That's what was meant by the removal. >but the intro was a lot heavier than i anticipated and i ran with it I think that you made an excellent choice in that regard. It's a rare find to see these characters interact in these adult situations that isn't just pure porn, and it shows a lot of caliber on your part as well. I found it beautifully tragic that these are two people hopelessly enthralled by one another yet can't seem to admit it. Your reasoning for Judy being that she was already embedded with the idea of interspecies relations being impossible and testing it to its limits was done to perfection, in my personal opinion.
>>80263923I think you made the right call, it was nsfw, but still a STORY rather then smut, and I appriciated it for it.>>80263923The dialogue kinda felt like there was something more there, Judy talking about spending time and money on Nick and that she scared him away by pushing too hard. I think they dated at least a little bit before Nick ghosted her for maybe a month before the event of this comic. And this comic clears it up that Nick probably ghosted her because he realized he is catching feelings, that this is REAL, and it scared him because that feeling was a first for him. In any case I love the sort of dynamics you usually do in your wildehopps stuff, interesting takes on these two. Also the smut version of the comic also sounds nice, maybe you could make a follow up of them going drinking together as a date, and Judy actually into how loose and easy to handle Nick is when drunk.
>>80264058>>80264047that is so cutedon't think this is official merch right? They'd have to make them an official couple to make official couple merch for them
>>80260805How does Bellwether keep Judy hidden?
>>80264231>I think they dated at least a little bit before Nick ghosted her for maybe a month before the event of this comic. And this comic clears it up that Nick probably ghosted her because he realized he is catching feelings, that this is REAL, and it scared him because that feeling was a first for him.I don't imagine they ever dated because the end enunciates that Nick and Judy never declared their feelings for each other. But they were probably close friends for a while, much like the energy in the films, before Nick sort of just trailed off.Part of Judy's whole hangup is that she assumed Nick couldn't love her except as a friend. The reality as you say is much closer to Nick being scared of his own feelings, not wanting to be sincere or admit them to himself, and as evidenced by his dialog, just generally thinking he was no good for her, that he couldn't deserve her. Judy misinterpreted this as just species divide (though that was probably part of it)Nick having to come to terms with "I'm in love with a bunny"
crack
>>80264299i mean people don't declare their love the moment they start dating, dating is the "getting to know you" phase for a lot of people.I know people who have kissed and "tried eachother out in bed" before they ever said a "love you". For some the "i love you" comes when the dating is over and we are officially together now.
>>80264386dating requires romantic intent and they didn't get to that pointyou don't date platonically that's just called hanging out
>>80264412ah fair, so they parted before either of them even admitted they had romantic intend and weren't just "hanging out"idk Judy being interested in Nick's body does seemed like something she was very aware of how she felt about him so I assumed that maybe she saw their time together as dating, but for Nick it was just hanging out.miscommunications like these happen (until he himself realized that it probably isn't)

Ok I finished my slop. I am no artist, and I had to do my crap with a mouse as I have no tablet. So this looks really... bad. Still I wanted to do this because it sorta means something to me. I relate to Nick in having trauma. I wrestle internally with demons a lot. Trying to explain thought processes to people can be a challenge. Now I know not everyone thinks Nick loves Judy. That's fine, I'm not trying to convince you guys. I respect your opinion and even take it to heart because if I believe they'll become a couple in 3 I know I'll just be setting myself for a really hard fall. Which I feel like I partially already am, so I try my best not to push the platonic thing away. But if you watch the hug confession with the idea that Nick actually loves Judy at this point and he's struggling to NOT tell her he loves her, how he's talking makes more sense. He stumbles sometimes. It's like he's trying to pick his words carefully here and there when just three would work. So I made a little comic to try and illustrate to people who may not be able to understand with some visual representation. This could be what Nick was going through internally during the conversation. The screenshots are meant to be flashes back to reality.

Not to mention she was hiding behind her dad who them PUSHED her infront of himself. You know what. everyone is all about Pawbert, and how he was manipulated and deserves redeptions. Screw him.I want Kitty to get a redemption arc. At least she didn't actually try to kill anyone on her own volituion, she was pressured by her dad to attack Judy and Nick.
>>80265469>>80265447His trauma here might actually have benefited him because while Judy really cares for him I think what really made it click for her was his confession of how much she meant to him. If he said he loved her it may have felt like too much too soon, but by being the most important person to him she felt like she was even more special than a friend. Which lead her to repeating the pen at the end. I'd say if you're someone haunted by trauma, it being the very thing that got your soulmate to fall in love with you, it would have feel like most earned thing in your life.
>now its my turn in the redemption wheelNo.

>>80266432>>80266498>Kitty gets out on terms of helping with a case cuz she knows some relevant information about birds and Judy and Nick get put on the case work with her.>She flirts with Nick, much to Judy's annoyance. She 100% sure she is just like Pawbert, only pretending to be nice, but the more Nick flirts back at her, the more irritated and hopeless the bunny gets.>Push comes to shove, Kitty actually is helpful with the case, and even saves Judy's life from the big bad. >After the case Judy pulls Nick aside>"Hey... since the case is over, if you and her... you know">"Do I know what?">"You deserve>"Carrots... I told you a year ago, I don't care that we are different".>"No Nick... I mean like "dating", she is obviously into you.>"Ah... too bad I already got a "partner" wink">*gasp of realization* "wait.." *chuckle* "Did you really say "wink"?"

>>80265447Wall of text from somo X.com guy i will credit at the end. What I love about Zootopia 2 is how clear it shows us how Nick feels about Judy. In my opinion, he is in love with her and he is fully aware of that. Why? Let me elaborate with two examples and a special focus on the word "because".---First, the prison scene. When Nick says,"it's not worth her dying for, because...", he stops for a moment and struggles to find the right words. He then goes on explaining that solitary animals like him don't have real friends. While that is absolutely valid, it feels like an excuse to avoid saying the simplest explanation: "...because I love her".He doesn't say it because it is not easy for him to admit, especially in front of others. Then, the confession scene. He says, "...I should've said it, but I didn't... Because..."Again, he stops and tries to find the right words. He even shrugs and looks at her like, 'help me out here?'A bit further on, he says, "...I just don't want you to get hurt, because..."Looking for words again. He could've come up with the explanation that he's in love with her (like "I love you").But he doesn't. Why?First, expressing his feelings openly is still super hard for him. We know this, and he even admits it.Second, he's still processing his own feelings and needs to fully accept them. He has been aware of his feelings, yes, but he's accepting them and allowing them as he speaks and goes on expressing them. We are witnessing this in this scene.Lastly, he's still afraid to lose Judy. He fears that an outright love confession could be too much in this situation and it might push her away. So what he does is letting her know how much she means to him and how he feels without explicitly stating romantic interest. He knows that that might be too much in this situation, so he goes with the words we hear from him. It's not an overwhelming "I love you". But this is how you say it without actually saying it.Credit: @hustlnick
>>80267372I think I am afraid for Nick that if I just believe he is in love that I'll just be disappointed in 3 because I'll be wrong. With Nick's trauma I don't want to see him hurt any more than he already has. Id like if he loved Judy and she him. Seems to make more people angry than happy anymore? I can't tell I just want to be happy over my furry movie.
>>80268088holy shit that's cute!and something many actually discussed, how Pawbert and Bellwether could become the anti-WildeHopps couple, in the sense that while Judy and Nick are having sometimes different approaches they do care a lot about eachother, while Dawn and Pawbert don't actually like eachother their union is purely built on spite and hate for Judy and Nick.
