I've been stewing on this for the last couple days and I need to tell it to someone. I've become convinced that "Amending Colours" and "Keep Your Snoot out of It!" were written at least partially by AI, probably by feeding the rough outline of a scene and letting the model spew it nonsense, and then some manual editing to fix what didn't work.* Frequent use of LLMisms such as "barely {above|more than} a whisper", "maybe, just maybe", and "newsflash". "Newsflash" is especially egregious; it sounds strange in nearly every situation, but LLMs LOVE to use it.* Frequent use of em dashes. Amending Colours contains over 1800 and Keep Your Snoot out of It! contains nearly 1600.* I've found one scene where the narration suddenly switches from first person to third person for no reason. I would guess the production process involved editing the output somewhat to keep the narration consistent.* Most damning in my opinion, Keep Your Snoot out of It! was released at a frantic pace of 400k+ words over the course of about four months. The only way this would be possible without machine assistance of some kind would be for the story to have been nearly completed already in August of 2024.
