Other fun details are the fact that the iconic sound came from the gearbox whine as it used straight cut gears. If you accelerate on a reverse gear you'll hear a similar thing, the race car gearboxes use those gears on all gears and run them much harder so they're really fucking loud. Obviously you're never getting the real deal since BMW only ever made like less than 1000 of those P60B40 engines so if you ever found one on sale it would cost a fortune. Forget about the gearbox as well.
