I get that all the time and it's shitty to feel like you're being left behind while I don't have a specific answer for you, I find that doing a hard examination of what actually matters to me certainly helps when im starting to spiral. I sit down with a notebook and jot down things that are truly important to me. When your blood sugar goes extremely low, you can basically only access what's in your brain's "RAM" so if for instance you went low while watching rwby and eating a chocolate bar, the only thing you can really think about is RWBY and chocolate (and getting sugar into your system, brains are really clever). (This is a severely simplified explanation and kind of Bro-science, but it's good enough I think)
This gave me an idea for a grimm called the minotaur. It's very small, about the size of a bee and it can crawl and fly. It's similar to a nightmare grimm, but instead of turning your mind into silent hill, what it does is either fly into, or climb up to your upper neck/lower cranium (the little soft spot) and burrow into your brain. From there, you don't notice anything is different if you were fighting a person in a building, you'd still think you're fighting a person in a building. However, if you try and find your way out of wherever you sre, it quickly starts turning into a labyrinth of the same stuff just constructed into an inescapable, mind bending maze. Any things you were focused on also continue to appear, so in this case, you'd have to keep fighting the guy over and over again. In the real world, you faint and basically just fall over. To defeat a minotaur, you have to pull it out of the neck, though that's not terribly difficult as they can't burrow in fully.
Basically it turns the last moment before you got burrowed into an inescapable maze/hell where only what you were thinking about exists

Conversely, I think lumi would be a damsel in distress with two "guardians" a fucked up looking rusted knight, and ice queen. It would show that she can never live up to their legacy, and in turn will always need their help.

And like you said, both Weiss and Blake become something similar to those they admire, and feared to different degrees. With Blake fearing becoming radicalized like Adam, so she turned into someone that was almost his exact copy except for gender and faunus type. While Weiss became someone greater than her sister. More than a Specialist, more than a General, a ruler.

So they either become weaker versions of themselves, or stronger but wrong to their core self.
And that's without going into what the Nightmare represents their traits (wince the Pyrrha in Weiss' Nightmare world was, a version of herself. A part she thinks Pyrrha shares, and could relate to).

She's also a political scandal, so what if belka was a dictator who ruled through both fear and humiliation. She'd have an army of people wrapped around her finger, and ultimate power. Whiskey would play an important role in this. Whiskey or nightmare whiskey would be her number 1 lackey, and also the person she emotionally abuses and manipulates the most. Alternatively, Belka could be a nomad, someone entirely alone with absolutely nobody left. She'd be bitter, ruthless, and full of vitriol, actively hurting everyone she comes into contact with.

Elizabeth could go one of two ways. The obvious way would be something akin to onesie jaune, weak, helpless, and unqualified. Alternatively, she could be a self destructive monster. She'd be able to surpass a jaune amped lumi in terms of semblance power and aura at the cost of her own blood. To keep up the power, she would have to absorb the blood of either her enemies or teammates. Her hot headedness would be absolute, almost constantly feeling inadequate and full of rage despite her immense power

I think goose would be alone, kind of like onesie jaune but with the addition of something similar to "wonder of u" from jojo applying to anyone who is friends with her, happenstance would directly work against them at all times. There would still be some good luck, but her semblance would behave a lot more like qrow's on crack then her own. What's worse is as soon as her friends stop liking her, they start experiencing the good luck portion of her semblance. She could just look relatively normal, but a bit more naive and immature looking. Essentially, the nightmare's goal with goose would be to ensure that she thinks she's a constant and profound liability

Lao could go one of two ways.
The first is a completely silent, emotionless, killer. He'd have acces to all of emotion storm at all times, but feel absolutely nothing he'd actively hunt and kill people trying to help him using every tool at his disposal. He could mimic emotions and trick people into believing him, but internally there's nothing there.
The other option is Lao being a clown. He'd be overly emotional, overly expressive, and extremely clumsy. He'd have access to emotion storm at all times and frequently use all of it, but he'd lack any poise or care with how he uses it. His makeup would reflect his current mood and all of his emotions would be turned up to 11, annyoance turns into vitriol, mild enjoyment wout turn into manic joy, stubbing hos tow would produce profound tears.

the nutcracker look woeks amazingly, that's a fantastic idea. Honestly, it could work for both states. In the rage state, the nutcracker look could become corrupted and maybe sort of disrespected in it's look. Liz wants to not be beholden to her parents so maybe she "punkifies" the nutcracker jacket. Cass could even act as a rival to scary liz, she's also a nutcracker but strong and kind of cold and actively trying to put liz in a box. I like the world idea too. For jet, one idea I had for just a general conflict could be that jet goes with the flow a bit too much, and scarlet unintentionally railroads him or sometimes ignores his needs because he has trouble vocalizing them. It would soet of mirror his parents former relationship with cinder but in a different context. I really don't know though, jet is such an airtight character it's hard to give him a proper struggle to exploit

He has a hard time relating to others outside his circle, but unlike Liz, he doesn't care about changing that. He has little thought for the normal, consideration for others. There's very little for the Nightmare Grimm to work with with such a mind. I say, if he were affected, he would be easy to break out of the condition.

Honestly, that works perfectly for his struggle. The fear of things changing and having to confront that change instead of ignoring it and trying to just keep it together sounds really good. What should the change be though? On one hand I can see him being afraid of graduating. Sure he want to be a huntsman, but the fear of graduating plays into the fear of growing up, and it's a symbol of the insurmountable (to him) change that's coming. FOB2 could be the bigger change, but It's a surprise so jet can't really get into his own head about it. I think jet being a bit neutotic, and capable of thought spiraling could work as a flaw. He's clearly an analytical person so turning that up a bit, and having him recursively analyze things could be a window into him having deeper problems

That's perfect. Instead of him fighting the world, the world fights him. That's pretty clever. In general, does jet spiral from overthinking? Maybe not about change, but about hot to prevent things from breaking even if it would have been fine anyways? I feel like that would be a nice way to humanize him a bit. In my brain, jet seems like the type to fret over details that anyone else would find insignificant. For instance if they had a 90% chance of getting an A in a course instead of a B, jet would stress endlessly about that 10%

I can kinda see it; perfectionism when it comes to something you *should* be good at is a motherfucker. I remember two greens where Jet was trying to figure out how to make Hephaestus work with sand interfering with it, and the fact that it kept jamming was constantly pestering him. Him having a tinkering mindset and some machine or gun(or machine gun) he's working on having one problem come up as soon as he fixes another would probably drive him up the wall.

Admittedly i'm drawing on my own experience here, but when you are good at something but suddenly can no longer do that thing, your ego takes a massive blow. If you get good at it again, you're almost constantly aware that your self image correlates with your skill at this thing. Maybe jet isn't quite that neurotic, but I certainly can see some of that in him
