Just how powerful is the ancient art of cooking?
for some reason the first thing that came to mind was like a monster version of "Hell's Kitchen" where all you hear is:>"ONE NEW YORK STRIP WITH COLLARD GREENS!">"ONE PORTERHOUSE WITH SWEET POTATO!">"ONE STEAK AND FRIED RICE!">"MOVE YOUR ASSES YOU DONKEYS!"and then its like you and a pukei or tobi behind the desk yelling "Yes Chef!" through tears but you somehow manage to get it done.
>"WHERE IS THE LAMB SAUCE!"
>>80411581>everything gets lumped under the umbrella termI feel this. It's a special kind of hell being someone who enjoys detailed anatomy, but doesn't enjoy the fetishes associated with that kind of focus on anatomical correctness.>Monster has a open mouth that features anything more than basic shading>Immediately labeled as a vorefag>Monster foot has 4 extra lines of detail more than the socially acceptable amount>Immediately labeled as a footfag>Etc...It sucks. For me, the high detail art really helps the imagination come alive, making me think about all the little facets of what it would be like to actually be around and interact with a monster for real.I wish this wasn't such a niche mindset, but that's just the way it goes, I guess.Makes me thankful that this little space we've carved out on the basket weaving forum is different from the norm, as there's some likeminded posters here.
>>80451087>"THIS STEAK ISN'T WELL DONE! THIS IS MEDIUM-WELL, WHICH IS PRACTICALLY RAW!"
>>80412582>>80412599>Where you would you want to live with your monster? A secluded nest? A house refitted for your monsters size? Something else?Believe it or not, I've addressed this very subject in the fic that I'm still working on. It also involves fun things like monsters being terribly confused over the concept of a human "nest", AKA a bed.>>80415425>since it needs to be underwater most of the timeWhat about a specially designed room, like one of those underwater hotels? That way you'd be able to comfortably spend more time together, albeit separated by glass. If you got really fancy and made the space capable of being sealed and airtight, you could even have a hole in the floor large enough for Plesi to climb up through out of the water, allowing it to join you in the same space. That way, you could do the fish while forcing all the other fishes to watch.
>>80451478>there's some likeminded posters hereNobody's going to complain if you post mawshots in the vore thread, you might even encourage more monster maws.Like I said last thread, be the change you want to see in the world.
Reminder that this is the only image we have of a non-stories baby Mizu

>>80451993>Not interested in vore>"Just go post in the vore thread, anon."Well yeah no shit, of course the anons in the vore thread aren't going to complain about images that cater to their fetish. It's the spaces outside of that where it becomes tricky. You're right about being the change you want to see though. I have some ideas in that regard.

>>80421864>>80422111>>80429544Thanks for the feedback anons, I appreciate it. Most of your points align with things I've been thinking about, which makes me feel a bit better.I have several ideas that have been developing in my mind for awhile now, but it's in this awkward kind of space that exists between displays of affection, mawplay, and practical application. I'm sure a lot of people would lump some of it in with vore fandom stuff automatically, but I don't view it as such. What do I mean by this? Well, here's some examples...1: Kissing your monsterfuWe've discussed this before in detail, but for the majority of monsters out there, kisses are going to be tongue kisses. In a lot of cases, this also means having your head, and perhaps even most of your upper body, positioned partially within their maw, surrounded by those sharp teeth. I think it's a beautiful display of trust, which can lead to other things such as body exploration as well.In the heat of the moment, maybe you decide to reach in deeper and caress their tongue? Or in the monsters case, they may start exploring the parts of your body that they have access to with their tongue, caressing your head and face with it, or licking at your neck and chest.2: Huntplay stuffYou tried your best, but as usual, you've been caught. Now with the instinctual thrill of the chase at its peak, your monster friend has some fun with their prey.Lots of aggressive licks, maybe even jostling your body around a bit if their tongue is big and strong enough, coupled with sharp teeth that press against your skin, yet they never cause any harm.Another big example of trust.
3: RescueFor many monsters, their maw is the only practical tool that they have to pick up and move something.Imagine an Anjanath that a hunter befriended. One day, the Anjanath comes across the hunter in a situation where they've bit off more than they can chew. They're injured, there's more than one monster involved, and it's clear they're not going to last much longer.Anjanath is no flying wyvern or dragon; they can't just scoop up the hunter in their claws and fly away to safety. So what can they do?The only thing they can. Charging in, Anjanath steals the "kill" by putting them in their maw before running away, a process that involves a multi front battle of suppressing their instinct to swallow, while also dealing with some angry monsters chasing after them, avoiding accidental sudden movements that could throw the hunter down their throat if they're not careful.4: Water RescueFriendly Lagiacrus resides in body of water near a village. One day, for whatever reason, someone is in the water and in distress. Lagi notices this, quickly swimming over before scooping them up in their maw, like how crocs/gators carry their young, before casually swimming over to the shore and safely depositing the villager there. In examples 3 and 4, the kind of imagery being produced is very vorelike or vore-adjacent, but the context is completely different. There's nothing sexual about it; it's just monsters utilizing their unique anatomy in their own practical ways. It's all the kind of stuff that because it's different, it can potentially be viewed as so noncommittal to one genre or another, that people won't care for it.I'm probably overthinking that part though... If nothing else, I know that at least you anons share these kind of interests with me. That's all the encouragement I need.
>>80462035I would gift a Vaal some pretty things made with rubies, or I guess Rathalos rubies if "normal" gemstones somehow aren't a thing in the MH universe.>>80465727>Volcanic glassI was going to ask for some source on that, but I found it and sure enough, that's the way it works.Huh. >>80471487Well Anon, you see, I wouldn't have known that because I never finished my World playthrough. When I made the decision to start writing stories for the thread, and then later try and pursue my old dream of learning to animate, that quickly took up almost all of my free time, especially during the summer months when my work schedule is at its busiest. There were many days when I'd get home, get settled in, have dinner etc, then make the decision of if I'd want to play a game for 30 minutes, maybe an hour, or instead spend that time trying to rawdog my way through the animation process in Blender.More often than not, Blender is what I chose, as I knew I would never make any meaningful progress if I didn't stick with it as much as possible.Next thing I knew, the year had already flown by, and it was time for Wilds to release, so any time I devoted to gaming went to Wilds instead, as it was the brand new thing. It's always been my plan that once I finally get my first big animation releases out, I'm going to take a little break from that and return to World. I want to finish up the Iceborne story by myself, and then I would really like to do some hunts with you anons. It's been about two years now, and I've still yet to actually play with any of you. I feel like I can't be a real /trash/ fleet member until I do that.Anyway, with that in mind, I'm not going to watch that video. I've been spoiled to a lot of things in Iceborne because of posts on here, but I'd still like to experience as much as possible for the first time within the game itself.
Its interesting to think of how elders exactly control weather or environments of certain areasId like to imagine that velkhana is able to influence the environments moisture level and then her true elder ability is being able to freeze that moisture into those falling iceshards you see in her fight
>>80471887Same. It really makes my heart feel heavy when I think about everything I've missed out on, knowing now how much joy this series has brought me.Monster Hunter crosses paths with me multiple times, but I just never gave it a chance...I had a PS2, and I do have memories of being in Blockbuster Video(remember those days?) in 2005, and seeing the original game on the rental shelf, among all the other games.Probably even picked up the box a few times to read the back of it lol. I wonder what I would've thought of it back then if I had actually tried it; I know MH1 is considered to be some super jank, tough stuff.Perhaps one day I'll try it.>>80472046Cute little green. Imagine the snuggle session.
>>80473071It is what it is, Anon. In reality, it's something that I'll probably just disregard and do my own thing with anyway. After all, I'm already having to do that with some things related to Mizutsune. Even so, it's burdensome because it seems like anytime people try and do things different from the "lore", you get an army of shithead Redditors who are quick to hit you with the>"Um ACKSHUALLY chud, that's not how it works because...">Quotes a napkin scribble that some guy at capcom made years ago(like >>80452301 )Probably cause of the popularity of content creators that focus on the ecology stuff. Fuck 'em, if all else fails, I can just call it my own AU where things function the way I want them to lol.I said it before, but I'll say it again: Less is more when it comes to worldbuilding, settings and stories. We don't need to know how everything works, and it's almost always better to let the imagination play with something, rather than providing a canonical answer to it.Big reason why Wilds left a sour taste in my mouth.
I like to use my imagination and say the mizus we fight are female>>80474018>wilds storyI agree that we dont need everything crammed in our faces when it comes to story. In the older games (even gu) they dont really emphasize story through quests. Sure you can read quest descriptions, monster descriptions, or general information regarding vendors or npcs to paint something from those old games. The main story though is "OH this monster is giving us trouble, please take it out" or if your special sometimes it can be like "OH this monster needs to be studied/rescued for further analysis please capture it". In games like world to wilds we actually start seeing how they want to put a higher emphasis on story. For example in world they have unskipable cutscenes and forced dialogue expressions throughout the story quests to further emphasize the importance of taking down a monster. They fixed this in rise by letting you skip all of the dialogue instantly and adding skipable cutscenes but in wilds they went back sortve by having mandatory seikret story segments. Now that I explained a bunch of bullcrap whats my point? I never really got the point of story in monster hunter and im just here to look at monsters and hunt them. Good for the people that want to experience the story but I couldn't really care about it myself.
>>80474336I'll tell you something anon. All Mizutsune we hunt are male.However...I'm not hunting any of them. So that means, every Mizutsune I approach is female.
>>80460044This one in particular? Probably too big for my taste... BUT. It seems to be one of the only few female Congalala artwork out there? So if she's clean and doesn't have any strange fetish... yeah I think I would like to be smothered under her breasts, ass, thighs and belly. And probably she gives good kisses too. Idk. It's something involving the lines and curves of that drawing that makes it look appealing to me.>fucking captcha making me count how many spikes a star has after work
>>80475906You got a unique looking crown there compared to the rest
>>80467542I can't respect a monster that viewbots using their qurio.
>>80470901You're speaking my soul with all of these examples and you bring up a good point.>There's nothing sexual about it; it's just monsters utilizing their unique anatomy in their own practical ways.I could never describe it, but I always found vore pics or animation where the the "prey" is naked and pleasuring themselves during the process kinda cringe.Sure, people will also get off to the examples you posted. There's more to it though than simple horny fetish fuel. It's that extra seasoning of "soul" that I was talking about. I'd almost say the unlikely couple part is the foundation of why I'm obsessed with interspecies interactions. It can be simply heartwarming, but also leaves enough room for very intimate moments.

>>80479499/trash/ fleet can totally handle some bugsright?
>>80480153Well, do we have any good Insect Glaive users among us?If we do, there's your answer. If we don't, well... I'm sure we can still handle some bugs. Probably. On a side note, when we've discussed in the past about which hunters and monsters were made for each other, based on what weapon the hunter mains, Lance always seems to get broadly associated with Malzeno. Personally, I think there's a little room for some distinction here.Lance users and Primordial Malzeno were absolutely made for each other, a pairing that was truly meant to be; lovers destined to exchange their virginities for the sole purpose of procreation. But for the Qurio addict? It's absolutely an Insect Glaive user.In my mind's eye, I can see a hunter who is so skilled and in tune with the art of controlling insects, that they're capable of directly controlling the Qurio.Lots of potential story applications for this.1: Since the hunter is safe from the Qurio, it's much safer for them to be around Malzeno. Potential friendship grows from finally having someone that can keep them company in the Citadel.2: Hunter is able to draw the Qurio away from Malzeno, perhaps giving them a break from their constant influence, leading to fleeting moments of mental clarity.3: Somehow, by being able to control the Qurio, the hunter ends up being able to control Malzeno through them, or at least assert a heavy influence.>>80480830Hello, George.
