Decided to clarify the request just a little bit:

She will be relegated to the sidelines, forced to watch on with a smile as the one she loves chooses another without giving her a second glance. That's how this story is supposed to end. And that's how the ceremony, a ceremony to unite you and your destined partner, was supposed to go. You would choose someone fate had picked out for you.
>So why the hell are you picking her instead?! Why are you confessing to her, claiming she's the one you love, picking her as your partner? You're going off script, you're breaking the rules, don't you understand that the world itself wants you to give your heart to another? Hope I didn't get too wordy or poetic. Idea is that the tomboy childhood friend knows she's supposed to lose, that her love is in vain because there's no ending for her in the story: you're supposed to pick one of the other romantic options and leave her behind. But instead, you chose her, love her, and after her initial shock, her joy and love for you has her willing to stand with you against fate itself to claim a happy ending.
