What sucks is, you can tell a lot of love went into props and background shit, but the writing is absolute garbage. They're definitely getting their money's worth with Goggins, but he alone can't carry the dogshit series they've put him in.

The Nuka Break series by Wayside Digital is a little cartoonish, but I feel like, spiritually, it's more on point for the Fallout series than the Amazon show is.

Exactly. For me, it was more cringe. It was the same deal with the Legion interaction. I see what they're trying to do, making her "the goody two shoes" to act as a foil for the ghoul, and it can be argued that she only behaves that way because she was raised in a vault, but presentation-wise, it just sucks. As you said, "talking like a redditor".

Then there's convoluted story beats like Shady Sands getting nuked with a weird timeline, Vault 33 shenanigans not really making sense, and a VERY CONVENIENT connection between the ghoul and Lee Moldaver and how she managed to not age, and it's never explained (presumably she was in a cryopod or something? Maybe she's a robot? It doesn't matter because it's a fucking storybeat stupid anyway).

I did find it funny that the Deathclaw didn't kill him in Alaska.
