The transgender angle's been done a bunch already, but maybe something like Valkyrie Drive Mermaid where half the girls magically transform into stuff the other half use, or maybe they are some kind of monster or animal before magically turning into a girl. Magical girls naturally fight evil and monsters - but what if *you* were the monster, or perhaps framed as evil, and so you gotta dick the magical girls in self defence? Alternatively, maybe you're allied with a monster who relies on you to help defeat them, and shares them with you after?There's a neccessity angle to play on, she's gotta be a magical girl to save the world but maybe you have something on her. Maybe it's her secret identity, or maybe *you* are her transformation device somehow. Now you have to balance bullying the heroine and making sure she can still save the world. Failing that, you could probably get some more mileage out of magical girls by recontextualising them as shrinemaidens, saints, fantasy heroines or maybe ponytail-schoolgirl-exorcists. Also, there're still a bunch of magical girl franchises that haven't had slop made of them yet.
