So to those who want Nick and Judy to become a thing in 3, would you want them kinda dating already by the start, or still not having opened up? Part of me really wants to see the first kiss, but I guess they could go out and about together and not really care about kissing yet at all. Or not even consider them dates. They're just hanging out having a good time laughing etc. Nick watching her do mundane things fully in love but never saying anything because he's just happy he's by her side. Judy getting to that point but since it's still a bit earlier for her it's not as much of a yearning. Until they both say they're basically a couple already and just want to be official and then do their first kiss.

Or do you want a build up on them trying to find the right time and words to tell each other how they feel? I feel a life threatening moment would be too much a retread. Make it a nice calm moment before they go do something big for the case. Maybe looking out over the sky. Nick just sitting there thinking, and Judy comes over and sits by him and curls up into his tail. They look down at Zootopia from above and how small it looks. How it puts things into perspective. Sure the city matters, but look how small it is.

Well the movies obviously can't cross certain lines. I know some people give animated movies shit, or just see them as mindless childslop. Zoot 2 while the main plot is a little shaky it functions well enough, but the real meat is Nick and Judy and the psychological and traumatic motives that drive them both. Ask someone what the story is about and they'd probably say reptiles, ask me and I'd say Nick and Judy then reptiles. Their writing is genuinely really really good and it takes into consideration both of their traumas/faults for the whole movie. The confession scene isn't a cover our ass for how Nick and Judy acted in the movie, it's telling you why. It's breaking down what their thought process was. In the end their thought process was the other. That other animal is my priority. Nick in keeping only Judy alive at all cost. Judy in keeping them both partners by solving the case. Both acting reckless and stupid for basically the same reason.

I think with how 2 went, as a slow burn build up, Id want 3 to integrate it into the story as well, not just as a background detail.
But, if it has to be outside the story then Id like it as a detail more towards the end or very end with them in them having moved into the same apartment or something, chilling on the couch.

Also Id be fine with it being more action based than words. Like Judy choosing to stay with Nick despite having other good options in life. I think that would say a lot, more than most words could.

I wonder, are eggs a thing in Zootopia? Eggs are so useful in cooking, but its hard to imagine a chicken farm existing in Zootopia. For some of the residents those things are like velociraptors, watch a chicken catch a mouse. I can't imagine the Hopps family farm having chickens. If nothing else they're very disposable animals, even if just using for eggs you *will* end up killing them.

(To say nothing about how Zootopia 3 will probably retcon birds as sapient which im not happy about, I much prefer the 'mammals are the only ones' since it at least means the world can function on some level. Like what is Zootopia 4 gonna be a toy story cross over and it turns out inanimate objects are all alive to be racist to as well?).

Nah, apparently Zootopia is like Bleach where they only know how to write more by introducing billions more characters. Zootopia 4 will be insects are sentient, 5 will be certain kinds of pocket lint are sentient and being oppressed, by Zootopia 8 we'll discover all buildings are sentient and Zootopians are racist towards them too and built Zootopia by killing them and hollowing out their insides to live in.

Well there's also the aspect that Judy was hurt by a pred, a fox even, as a child. Nick was hurt by a group of prey animals as a child. So they both grew up with some biases. I'd say Judy had them to a lesser degree, but she still had them and didn't even realize it. They both ended up treating a good animal poorly (Nick early on, Judy later in Z1). So they over came those, became friends, but in 2 they go so beyond that with how they look at each other and interact. It's like because of their past they can be themselves with each other and yeah I can't think of any Disney couple that feels that genuine.
