Octavia grit her teeth as she stood in front of the mirror. Her capacity for denial was rapidly depleting.

The skintight black pants clinging to her hips. The plump love handles bulging at her sides. The round, bulging potbelly straining against the buttons on her shirt. The unbuttoned fly that would never close around her waist...

"Ffffff..." the grey mare hissed as she began to tug at her waist. Octavia arched her back, took in a breath, and sucked in her chubby paunch as far as it would go. Almost...almost...there! Her hands managed to button her slacks closed and zip up the fly.

Gingerly, she exhaled, cringing as her potbelly sagged over the waistband. She felt a faint creak as the button's threads strained. But it held. Phew!

"You could at least try to look...presentable!" the grey earth pony fussed as she fiddled with her collar. She willed herself not to notice how painfully tight her dress clothes were around her waist.

"Uh huh," Vinyl Scratch said nonchalantly. "You're the one who keeps dragging me to these fancy banquets every week."

"They're for charity!" Octavia exclaimed defensively as she threaded an arm into her tuxedo jacket and pulled it over her shoulders.

"...You're also the one who insists on cleaning your plate for EVERY course. AND asking for seconds," Vinyl said with a smirk.

Octavia's cheeks reddened. Her eyes drifted down to her belly. She wouldn't even try to button her jacket closed this time.

"Are you coming or not?" she snapped, wheeling around and making for the door.

"Sure babe," the DJ answered with a smile and a pump of her fist. "The feast awaits!"

The musicians and orators had long since packed up, and most of the several dozen other tables were now empty. Waiters paced between the remaining diners, clearing tables.

"Oooh Vinyl...I'm stuffed..." Octavia bemoaned as she threw one arm behind her seat. Her potbelly bulged pregnantly against the table edge, her stomach filled to capacity with rich food and drink. The earth pony's dress shirt was stretched skintight around her gut, exposing divots of grey-coated flesh between the buttons.

Vinyl smirked at the sight of her bloated, disheveled housemate, then crammed a fudge brownie into her mouth and washed it down with the rest of her wine. Her plate cleared, the unicorn belched gently and slouched back in her own chair. The DJ's own chubby belly was comfortably full, spilling across her thighs far past the hem of her undersized T-shirt. Vinyl licked the chocolate from her lips and gave it a gentle pat.

"Aww c'mon," Vinyl chided, feeling naughty and a little tipsy. She motioned for one of the waiters, a lithe stallion tending to the dessert cart. The waiter trotted over. "More, madam?" he asked with polite chagrin, depositing a plate amidst the wreckage of the five-course feast they had devoured. On it was another thick slice of cheesecake.

"Thanks kid," the DJ declared as her horn flared with unicorn magic. "Here comes the train, Tavi. Open up!"

"Vinyl, what are y-MMPH!" Octavia sputtered as she cheesecake levitated towards her, then flew into her mouth. The mare's cheeks bulged as her mouth was invaded by cold, creamy cake. A rain of cake and cracker crust crumbs dusted her shirt across her cleavage.

Vinyl snickered as she pushed the entire slice past Octavia's lips. The grey mare winced as she fought to keep from gagging, balling her fists as she reflexively chewed the massive bite of cake. After half a minute of struggle, she lifted her head and forced it down her throat in a slow, labored GULP.

Octavia's upper stomach visibly bulged as it was packed with even more dessert. There was a slow creak, then a soft *pap* as the button on her slacks finally popped apart. The mare's stomach sagged, then a moment later two more *paps* sounded as the bottom buttons of her dress shirt snapped. Her bloated belly surged outwards, devouring her thighs with a muted *GLORP*.

As I've said before, I really love the idea of combining Rarity gaining weight with her greed for gold, diamonds, and gems. Avarice and Gluttony aren't dissimilar vices. You can imagine her getting into some scenario where she's promised all the gold, diamonds, and gems she could ever want, IF she'll fatten up for somebody, like an obscure tribe or a weird noble from another species. She simply can't resist the allure, and her gluttony and greed gradually combine in her mind until she's absolutely overloaded with a sensation of wanting more, more, more.

I wish there was more mutual weight gain content with Shining Armor and Cadance. I like the idea of them becoming fat, out of shape kings and queens of the Crystal Empire.
