Thread Question: What are your thoughts on muscle/fat on bugs? Do you think bugs would be able to build up those or would their exoskeleton/metabolism prevent that?
Also, in addition to OP image, few other new comms of the leafhopper of a more teasy variety

>>81832864we're already taking liberties with making them humanoid, I say let the bugs be fat
Hey, bugbros. I finished Chapter 35 of The Howler>https://archiveofourown.org/works/61103611/chapters/214527021I assure you there is nothing strange going on between Eigen and Nithry
>>81832864I don't like it. It doesn't make sense. If you want bugs to be fat, at least make it in their abdomen, or show it beneath their plates. Giving bugs muscles and fat in the ways it would go on humans just irks me. I don't like breasts either, but I'll settle for a smooth bump.
>>81832880PUT SOME PANTS ON
>>81833742Then she wouldn't be able to show off those nice legs of hers as well though
>>81833739I do prefer bugs with big asses and not big boobs
>>81833647Wonder how Eigen processed being fed by Nithry like that, probably quite the discussion going on between the Wardens on that. Nice to see Nithry process more about Eigen, in so far as he can with the communication troubles, especially in the wake of being jealous of him. With what you said the last time you released the last chapter though, a bit worried what will happen when everything goes to hell
>>81833519Sure, there are some liberties taken, though that doesn't necessarily mean it has to go even further>>81833739There's certainly at least a greater capability to show fat on bugs rather than muscle without compromising realism too terribly much, though people unfortunately don't do it properly often enough
>>81832880>>81832890>>81832901>>81832908Very teasy indeed. Thank you for the comms, anon, she cute.
>>81837303Thank you for drawing her, definitely did justice to her cuteness
>>81837488>>81837303 this anon here. Not the artist, just thanking you for sharing kek. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
>>81837552Ah, my bad, artist who did it talked about her cuteness a lot so I thought you were him. In any case thanks for liking her as well
>>81837609Must be the fact that I've done a number of comms with them recently (some of them I shared on this threads myself). Some of his vocabulary must have rubbed off on me kek. Got a new one ordered but it's like just 25% bug (1 out of 4) so wouldn't know if it would be acceptable in this thread.
>>81837784Yeah, there is a bit of similarity in the way you said it compared to him. Gonna err on the side of caution and say your comm might not be okay given a bug just happens to be a part of it rather than over 50% bug but at the same time I'm not sure if many people would complain about. Have another comm of my own in the works with him of the vamp spider as well though
>>81837907That's fair, I might just crop the bug part of the comm and post that in this thread while posting the full in the more fitting thread. Here's the reference of the bug I'm using for the comm (it's from an Arkham Horror card game).
>>81838257Maybe I should add the image to the post next time kek.
>>81838257>>81838279Yeah, posting just the bug part might be a good idea, and anybody more interested in the full comm probably have an idea of which thread it will be in anyways. Interesting bug right there too
And with this I'll conclude the dump. I have more, of course.
>>81839703Nice stuff, really need to get back to playing hollow knight at some point to figure out who these characters are though
>>81839980To be clear, they're from Silksong and have precisely zero canonical interactions with eachother. The one with the messed-up mask is an optional boss only referred to as "First Sinner" in-game, imprisoned for having a freak-out about Great Mother Silk making their lot as ABSURDLY juiced uplifts rather than "true" divine daughters but the fandom's pretty commonly applied the Atla name from a nearby lore-blurb thing between taking the placement as an environmental storytelling context-clue and the associated "Weaver of Time" epithet somewhat meshing with the idea that her head's messed up from being early and relatively rough work. It is ambiguous whether fighting her in a dream is because she's already dead or just an end-run around the imprisonment the way the first game's protag gets the Dreamers, but either way the fight can be incredibly nasty because she gets to use the game's healing mechanic.Widow is a crippled zealot on the "critical path" for the "basic" ending, unable to use her own silk because of the pins through her spine and having her own big round mask removed, thus being left plucking at the Weavers' maker's silk to influence the ongoing mind-control. As well as chuck bigass bells at Hornet. You get some damage windows from her TRYING to use the healing mechanic to no effect, which I hear has made some people feel sad.In addition to the Doomed Yuri of the two drifting apart from the nature of how Great Mother Silk made them coming out, there's also pic related where the two absolutely hate eachother for the difference (to a backdrop of following Herrah's lot to Deepnest, in this case, hence interacting with baby-hornet), and Widow's status as a crippled zealot being entirely on GMS as revenge for the Weaver's backstabbing for a different kind of Doomed Yuri.
>>81841002Huh, seems like all the more reason to play the games, interesting stuff
>>81844730Poor sad bug, but that is a rather cute duo there
Get roosted, rootlets
This bug seems to have been popping up lately
>>81851957Wish that artist would draw bugs with proper abdomens more often
>>81858456Bugrger
>>81858720Don't overfeed.
>>81858860The bug can have a burger every once in a while
>>81858651Have to wonder why that one artist had a fascination with dustox specifically
>>81859323I've seen so many artists that are often obsessed with one Pokemon, it's fascinating. There was one whose obsession was Gliscor but it waned and they draw Hazbin Hotel yaoi now.
>>81859540>There was one whose obsession was Gliscor but it waned and they draw Hazbin Hotel yaoi now.Damn, talk about a turn for the worst
>>81860037They at least posted their last Gliscor doujin online before shifting focus.
>>81856973I'm going to assume this character did nothing wrong
>>81864436Haven't watched hoppers but in the context of this thread I assume so
>>81872083Wonder what a cowboy bug would ride, an aphid maybe
you know that bugs are free? you can just pick them up and take them home!
>>81873432https://youtu.be/gznQR9UAiRA x2
>>81873432Gonna end up getting stabbed by one of them messing around with them like that
Would a mix of fermented nectar and blood be a good idea for a type of wine for bloodsucking bugs?
>>81875977depends of how old the mix has been made... or how fantastical your story is. Mosquitos do not drink blood of corpses of blood bags, only focusing in living "prey".if they do drink blood harvested in your world, they probably would have to properly store it, since unlike alcohol, it doesn't ferment to create alcohol, so probably freshly taken blood would be ideal. But at the end of the day, it depends of yourself, it isn't unheard before of bloodsucking creatures mixing alcohol and blood, pretty common actually.
>>81876365The idea was that the blood would come from butchery, be stored soon after collection, and be used in supporting the blood-drinking immediate family/friends, so that hypothetically wouldn't be a problem. Guess it wouldn't be the craziest idea for a wine mix like that then
>>81876648that tracks, butchery already sell things like pig blood to those who want it, and if they had some sort of deal, they probably could store it the "right' way to sell it for profit.thought, depends how advances is the legal system too, since if a butcher fucks up and sells bad blood, could make a lot of blood suckers get sick, and he could catch a demand. Maybe the government saw this happening one too many times, and they need permits to sell the blood for "people" to consume (which credit them with the ability to not sell things that could get them sick and similar) and if they catch them selling without one, they could get fined and all that. I could already see that some butchers sell it clandestinely, which is a lot cheaper, with a chance to get sick thrown in the mix.
>>81876775Not sure about the world as a whole, but character in mind is part of a family butchery business, so at least some level of personal quality control there. Will definitely keep that in mind as a worldbuilding idea though
>>81864940Didn't expect a pixar movie to have a cute, deranged butterfly boy and I couldn't be happier. (I also haven't seen it)
>>81879685A shame it seems he's an antagonist but at least it probably means he gets a bit more attention than if he were a side character
I'm always so tired.
>>81881446Would say something shallow like "it's a tiring life" but one other guy I know who was tired all the time ended up being that way because of fatty liver disease so maybe get yourself checked if your sleep schedule is good (obviously doesn't necessarily have to be that but probably not a bad idea to make sure it's not a medical issue)
>>81881783There's definitely something wrong with me, that's for sure.
>>81882169Not really a good way to look at it, only going to make yourself more tired and depressed thinking that way
>>81881783>make sure it's not a medical issueIt's ALWAYS a medical issue. Being tired all the time is not normal. If you hadn't said anything, I would have.>>81881446Find out what it is before it's too late. Ask people you trust if they know a good doctor.>>81882316I think anon was just stating a medical fact.
Interesting that butterflies are so overrepresented in popular culture but anthro moths are way more common online>>81879685It's nice his design isn't overly dopey.>>81881783NTA but I used to get headaches literally every day until I fixed my shit sleep schedule.
>>81883759Butterflies have more cultural impact/usage in metaphors and themes, while moths are more interesting as a character with their fluff and many cute species (at least to the general public it seems)
I might just need better sleep, anons... and maybe to eat more.
>>81884186Yeah, a bad sleep schedule/diet can really hamper the amount of energy you have during the day
>>81883759The power of fluff.
>>81884167The question is which moth species is the cutest
I've seen a few cute avatars of bugs for VRChat but I can't say I have much interest in playing that game, let alone buying any avatars.
Hive Blight does what Bug Fablen't
>>81885050Does what, provides bugs with boobs? Because bug fables had so many bugs with big thighs the dev doing that got told he was doing that for too many of them
>>81889843fluff
>>81891764Don't make the bugs fat
>>81892437A bug that big is making their own decisions that will decide whether or not they become fat
Probably says something about the popularity of a character when somebody starts shipping OCs with them
>>81897765Interesting looking cosmic bug there
>>81901680Dangerous bug
bugs but real
>>81908376
>>81908395who invited Solosis
>>81909684Whoever also decided to invite dunsparce probably
machine bugs
>>81910451robugs
hello, from the /bug/ thread
>>81924816Not really much of a bug there
>>81925590hey bud they got wings and uhhhh....eggslook theyre the best bugs we got alright
>>81922667Interesting design for a moth there, sorta weird to have three sets of arms on a moth
>>81847527How is she doing that?
Spider beans.
>>81930033spider paws
Thank you Silksong for the influx of arthropod art.

>>81938875Have to wonder how that sort of thing developed/evolved for those ants
>>81940407They're native to floodplains. Or at least, the red imported fire ant is.
