Eventually things click, and you won't notice the growth right away, so save them early doodles and wips so you can look back on and see how far you're progressing. :y rooting for you guys! Also for the rendering sucks comment lol, rendering comes much later in my experience, but if you're determined, learn the categories artists tend to think of your lighting conditions in, then, you know your stuff in shadow has to be darker than the light areas (even solid black characters can be rendered this way. I'm a well lit scene A white piece of paper in shadow should in theory be darker than someone's black shirt in the light.) Light consists of your specular highlights, highlights, halftones light and dark, then a significant shift into shadows. Shadows tend to be modeled like core shadow, fill light/bounce light, cast shadow and ambient occlusion. If you can break something down and assign parts of your figure/subject to those categories, it's going to take a load off your plate and allow you to process things easier. Allows you to take it piece by piece instead of trying to render everything at once. It's easier to start improving something that's structurally sound than to just brute force it. But everyone learns different. At this stage just doing more art is enough. It won't be forever but for now, just keep going and getting milage under your belt :3 but I'm also not the best at following my own advice. Sometimes you gotta take that dark souls running into a brick wall mentality, so either way, best of luck bros 07
