I think it would have been a more interesting approach if Philip had changed witch society a bit more, like their fashion, beliefs, etc.But it makes sense for his character to be the way he is in the Boiling Isles. He didn’t care about witches beyond their total extinction. The whole coven system and the demonization of “wild” magic, which were the most radical changes he made, were purely consequences of his ultimate endgame.So it makes sense that he didn't teached them christian morality, banned same-sex relationship, etc, etc. He didn't planned that society to exist or turn good. He just wanted them all to die.

I think the curly hair only looks bad to people because in 2D it looks boring if it's not volumetric enough. Straight hair is naturally long so it just creates a more noticable silhouette.This is why characters like Daisy are how you do curly short hair if you want it to look more appealing and rivals straight long hair.
