The one I always recommend if you want a grand epic that you can really sink your teeth into, then Shadows Over Hell on AO3 is legit just a fantastically written story. It's a doozy of a length, but I've always preferred fanfics you can really get lost in for a long while.

Of course, the focus does remain on the Helluva cast, so it's got no shortage of canon characters to work with.I prefer Helluva fanfics myself, so another one I really like is called Owl's Hell That Ends Well, also on AO3. It's a really interesting swap AU with Blitz adopting Via, for reasons, and likewise, Stolas adopting Loona. I love blabbing about fanfics though and have read or skimmed quite a bit over the years. It's tough to find good fics, but when you find those gems that are good quality, it's a thing of beauty.

>>82061851That's why I really like it. Nailing the character voices is basically the most important thing to a good fanfic. If the characters read as themselves, that's a good chunk of the battle. At that point, you can write basically anything you want with them and I'll be along for the ride.Of course, the downside, as you noticed, is this was written super early into the show, so character voices are good and the lore is good, if you know that going in, given all the details we've since learned of that being created.
