>>82079104>First since Feb 13th*yawn* bait
I need a new update bitch so I can call all your fvns shit!
Growing old and having sex with your husband every day!
Has any fvn tackled the topic of having/getting stds?
Being young and having sex with your boyfriend everyday!
Hello again, /fvn/. It was finally time to get this out of the way. Relentless is a game that takes place in the Echo universe, which doesn't really seem to have a strong reason to do so. At least it isn't the most offensive use of another FVN's characters: https://rentry.org/3fcxy7zi

>>82079166It was was a fun scene, but i feel like they could done more/had the scenes go on for longer, but for "OMG You look like your dad!" and the Cucking Scene. I wonder if Conrad gonna end up as a LI or if he is a Patreon Babby or is he more involved in Richard or Dwaynes Routes? I haven't read those. But when activatingd emon Mode it was kinda weird how shows up out of nowhere and the suddenly turns into Rambo.>>82079669>RelentlessIm so sorry for your loss of time Anon. But yeah, i agree with your take that Echo Tangent and Camp Ash feel more earnest in that they want to be Echo Stories.
>>82079669Thank you for finally taking the time to review my shitty recommendation.>This just kind of feels pretty tacky because you are using someone else's OC in someone else's VN to preach about another VN instead of being true to the source. It feels like it begs the question of why this is an Echo fangame. This makes it feel like you didn't read Echo very closely or just didn't care about the character deeper than you can use them to get more attention on your project. Daxton is a boring character, but you got his main feature wrong. I tend to think of most fan works as works of passion, even if it is something as simple as adding their OC to their favorite story. Echo Tangent and Camp Ash feel like that. While this feels more like someone that only wants Echo for the brand and so does things that it expects the Echo fan to clap to, it doesn't feel like the Echo cast really adds anything, and you could have the whole story be new characters in an Echo-inspired VN. It just feels kind of cynical, like Morenatsu Homecoming. I don't think it feels as spiteful to Echo, but it does feel like it was made by someone that doesn't seem to care that much about Echo outside using it as a platform.Pretty much summarized my feelings about it, nothing much to add. Maybe I would've emphasized the horrible, faux-quirky therapy-jargon dialogue, but I digress.>The problem is the cooldown is really boring when Alex and Shevy have a pretty clear relationship. Not sure how clear it was actually. I mean, if you make Shevy be attracted to Alex at the beginning, there's some platonic hugging here and there later on, but otherwise their relationship is very aloof. I'm not quite sure if the decision to depict their relationship thus was intentional or whether the author was too scared to either not depict romantic charge at all (fearing that a non-romantic FVN wouldn't do well) or too scared to make the relationship more explicitly horny and gay.
>>82080357>Im so sorry for your loss of time Anon. But yeah, i agree with your take that Echo Tangent and Camp Ash feel more earnest in that they want to be Echo Stories. They work a lot better as they seem to respect the source and you need it to be an Echo story. Relentless could replace the Echo characters with original characters that do the same thing and it would lose nothing.>>82080579>Thank you for finally taking the time to review my shitty recommendation. You are welcome. Never again. I'm kidding I think it is just the nature of trying so many FVNs that I will get one that is just bad once in a while. I was curious about why it had Echo characters and I guess I found out the hard way.>Pretty much summarized my feelings about it, nothing much to add. Maybe I would've emphasized the horrible, faux-quirky therapy-jargon dialogue, but I digress. It was annoying, but I kind of brushed it off because a few cringe lines was the least of its problems by the end.>Not sure how clear it was actually. I mean, if you make Shevy be attracted to Alex at the beginning, there's some platonic hugging here and there later on, but otherwise their relationship is very aloof. I'm not quite sure if the decision to depict their relationship thus was intentional or whether the author was too scared to either not depict romantic charge at all (fearing that a non-romantic FVN wouldn't do well) or too scared to make the relationship more explicitly horny and gay.I mean more their dynamic of trauma dumping and Shevy getting too involved. I didn't go the romance route and I really feel they had no real chemistry for that. I think Shevy is pretty bad for Alex overall.
>>82080796>I mean more their dynamic of trauma dumping and Shevy getting too involved.Oh yeah, I see what you mean. Yeah, their relationship as friends doesn't even go anywhere beyond a vaguely therapeutic one.>I didn't go the romance routeYou didn't miss anything major, the only difference in the non-romantic and "romantic" route are some added descriptions of Shevy and Alex closing the distance between each other, hugging, etc. Plus you get a slightly different ending at Alex's apartment.
Has anyone played the Dawn Chorus or Shelter April Fool’s Day builds?
>>82082443Well, now i am. I actually missed one was put out....Im still not touching Dawn Chorus though.
>>82082751And i finished it, pretty high effort for a shitpost i actually expected it to end with the bomb blowing up.
I genuinely hit a point where looking at CGB's art a decade+ later and feeling sad that he hasn't really progressed at all as an artistIt's no different than reading through Grant or jerking it to ChubPan.

The results of the FVN MC species survey are here!117 MCs in total were analyzed. Humans dominate with 24 (20.51%) MCs. Domestic dogs come second with 11 (9.40%) MCs. Foxes and wolves share the third place with both having 10 (8.55%) MCs. Otters come fourth with 7 (5.98%) MCs and domestic cats fifth with 6 (5.13%) MCs. After that, it's goats, tigers, and hyenas with 4 (3.42%) MCs each, bears, coyotes, and deer with 3 (2.56%) MCs each, and badgers, bulls, cougars, opossums, rats, and snow leopards with 2 (1.71%) MCs each. The "Other" category has the MCs that are the only representatives of their species. This includes 16 MCs, which is 13.68% of all MCs. FVNs have pretty diverse MCs after all.The "Other" category has the following MCs:>Asterion (Minotaru Hotel; minotaur), Chad (Home Zomewhere Else; domestic dog-boar hybrid), Corey (L'automne; squirrel), Dani Resdrin (Night Drive; American redstart), Crom (Scavenger; hybrid of some kind), Emeka (Pocket Rain Files; cheetah), Erik (EveN; rabbit), Kobu (Where the Demon Lurks; lion), Rex Abraham (By Your Hands; Allosaurus), Riley (Dawntide; pine marten), Ryan Berder (IMG_1697; raccoon), Sigmund Whiskey (Quantum Love Theory; boar), Wallace (Violet Memoir; weasel), Walter (After Class; wolf-dog), MC (Kobold Festival; Kobold), MC (Gnoll Way Home; gnoll)1/3
>>82084805Taxonomically, Canidae (or rather Caninae) dominate with 35 (30.70%) of all MCs belonging to that biological family. Hominidae (just humans basically) come second with 24 (21.05%) MCs, Felidae get bronze with 16 (14.04%) MCs. Mustelidae come forth with 11 (9.65%) MCs, being the only family besides the three aforementioned with at least 10 MCs. After that it's Bovidae with 7 (6.14%) MCs, Hyaenidae with 5 (4.39%) MCs, Cervidae and Ursidae with 3 (2.63%) MCs each, Didelphidae and Muridae with 2 (1.75%) MCs each, and finally Leporidae, Parulidae, Procyonidae, Sciuridae, Suidae, and *Allosauridae with 1 (0.88%) MC each.Looking more broadly, the vast majority of FVN MCs are mammals, with only one MC (Red; By Your Hands; Allosaurus) being what would be traditionally called a scalie and only one MC being an aves (Dani Resdrin; Night Drive; American redstart). Vast majority of those mammal MCs, 71 or 62.28%, belong to the order Carnivora.Note that three MCs were exempt from the taxonomical analysis due to being unassignable: Chad (Home Zomewhere Else; domestic dog-boar hybrid), Crom (Scavenger; hybrid of some kind), MC (Kobold Festival; kobold).2/3
>>82084816Bonus: A cool packed bubble chart showing the proportional representation of each species. Thanks for all the anons here who helped me with the reserch a while back (>>81701376 >>81702652)! There might be some mistakes here and there, but all in all I'd say the results are pretty accurate. I took some liberties here and there, for example I included various species of foxes and bears under one category and includeded the one gnoll MC as Hyaenidae and the one minotaur MC as bovidae. You can check all the MCs I've included in this survey here: https://rentry.org/4nr5dovq. I'll probably update this at some point, maybe in four months time at August or in half a year in October as I get more data. What were you surprised and not surprised by? Personally, I was surprised by the amount of goat MCs and the relative unpopularity of raccoon and bear(failure) MCs.
>>82084787Tomboy
>>82084826Have some more coon mc’s:MC(A Masquerade in the Woods), Kai(Ennui)
>>82084826Interesting stuff. I wanted more bears, but I think the biggest surprise over all is how low cats tend to be since they are usually slightly behind canines in general popularity I feel. They would most likely do better in a survey of love interests. I also hope we get more bulls and boars because they are also pretty low.
Guys, I'm really busy today. Please don't expect me to bump the thread by myself.
>>82088093then let it die you retarded saviorfag
>>82079166Is this game worth playing just for spencer?
>>82088673Depends on what you’re looking for, but I’m pretty sure it’s widely accepted that his is the best and most wholesome route
>>82084787Alon continues to be the best even as a human girl
>>82084816>Night Drive mentionOh shit, I thought I was the only one who read that
>>82082751>>82084600Real talk though, I'm glad they're playing around more with how the nature of an all-male setting impacts the world of Shelter. Stuff like Alon's freak-out in the DW crossover due to seeing a woman and a vagina for the first time and immediately assuming the worst of their entire world (that they're mutilating people to make more holes to fuck) from that alone. Most other settings wouldn't even bother.
Newfag here, I looked through the Pastebin list and I have to ask if "gay" includes lesbian, or if it's really nothing but dude-on-dude.Being a fem-enjoyer is starving in a desert...
>>82090704It is really good of the crossover to play with the ideas of Alon not knowing what the fuck woman is or how meat from other worlds works. The all male setting of Shelter is a very unique part of it.>>82092009This thread is mostly gay, but fvn li has a lesbain tag, so you can check there and see if you can find something.
>>82092009 (Me)It only took a minute to look through them all, I should have checked first I guess.I assume whoever chooses to maintain the list is focused on gay content. Can anyone recommend female-oriented VNs? Straight or lesbian
>>82092106>This thread is mostly gay, but fvn li has a lesbain tag, so you can check there and see if you can find something. Thanks, I didn't notice that link before. There are 23 Lesbian results versus over 600 Gay results, which really tells a story.
>>82092217Not if you consider a minority of those are abandoned or dead projects
>>82092229*Majority
>>82092217The site has a bias for male on male content. It mostly doesn't have a straight tag and the closest you are going to get is bi for that there. People seem to like the fox woman in the FVN Void Dreaming. There is also three dateable women in Camp Ash. Only downside is there is some homoerotic content even if you don't date the men because they are bi games. So not sure if that is a deal breaker. Hopefully someone into women could come around with more suggestions.
>>82092009Just play Tunturico, Mr. "Newfag who just so happens to beg for straight shit every thread with the exact same question"https://salvadorzabrali.itch.io/tunturico-treasures-of-the-sunGod straights can't do research or something?
>>82085916Thanks, I'll keep those in mind!>>82085946>I think the biggest surprise over all is how low cats tend to be since they are usually slightly behind canines in general popularity I feel. If by "cats" you mean felidae, yeah, I agree. They are as diverse as canines and deserve to have more protagonists. Domestic cats should be at least on par with domestic dogs.>>82090591I haven't actually read most of the VNs in the data, I made research here and on fvn.li
