This story is very involved I think? At least more so than Roadwarden, with a larger cast of characters that're more consistently presents.Roadwarden was relatively easy to write since, for the most part, Marek was alone or with a Fiend that didn't talk THAT much. Though I'm fairly proud of the chapters that had other human characters as well. Phoxy Phantom might also receive an update tonight, if I'm not too crushed by our first chapter. I decided to include the chapter list because why not, really. Oh, I saw that Marek/Vesryn fan art from a couple days back, both uncolored and colored. I appreciate it! Try to read or watch things that get the creative juices flowing. All great things borrow from things before it. Watch a movie in-between chapters. Watch a bit of the Expanse, or read some, or play the new game whenever it drops. Pick up classic scifi like Rendezvous with Rama or Foundation, or newer stuff like Starship Troopers. Anything to keep your mind on the thing you want to create. Anyways, that's enough unsolicited advice. Good luck!

Do you guys prefer your stories to be more emotionally and thematically nuanced or straightforward?
>>82132688Entirely dependent on length. Short stories I prefer straightforward, longform stuff is where you pound out the depth and nuance. I'd say that I PREFER stories with depth and nuance, but I've only read a few lately that actually pull it off. Roadwarden is one, kinda. But a lot of the others don't really land it. Short, straightforward stories are the things that have fed this general for almost a decade now, and is significantly easier to pull off.
