Again, this isn't a specifically Jewish problem, rather a problem of exceedingly insular communities and religious/new age sects. Ironically we largely have eugenicists to blame for that. My thoughts on it? Until we get CRISPR to the point where we can nullify this, I'm of the mind that I'd love my children too much to want them to be born with those complications. Now, this part you're just going to have to take my word on, but I had a friend in college who studies it, and she says we could have the technology tuned to do that in less than five years, the only thing stopping it from happening are ethical concerns.
