>>82654362I haven't seen much with characters actually turning flat. I think part of the reason is that toons aren't really treated as being two-dimensional even when they're interacting in a 3D space (see: Roger Rabbit, Back in Action, etc). They're drawn in 2D but still have an implied depth.Toonvasion almost exclusively does toon stuff and might have something close what you're looking for. His stuff has a pretty heavy emphasis on the art style change and he does a decent enough job showing the contrast. Mainkore also does stuff with paintovers of live-action videos.I've made an attempt at something similar myself by combining 3D renders with 2D artwork from a traditional artist: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56705378/ It's not perfect but I haven't seen anyone else try doing it that way.
