It's the plugin launcher everyone uses. Penumbra is the modloader you'll need as well

Thrall conversion, horse/animal taming should be slashed right down to 1 hour at most.As for difficulty, all it really affects is damage dealt and health, everything dies relatively quickly but also so do you after the combat changes 2 or so years ago. The game isn't super difficult PVE wise, enemy AI can get pretty bad and predictable, but when they overwhelm you it starts to get chaotic, especially higher level enemies who can straight 1 shot you.
