/scaly/ - Scaly General #1651

Post lewd reptiles and discuss scaly stuff, male or female is fine. Dragons, wyverns, dinosaurs, lizards, snakes, and reptile-folk such as kobolds and Argonians are welcome, on top of other things with scales like sharks as well. Anthros, ferals and human/scaly are allowed, but please, no monstergirls. As some may take a few creative liberties on their creations, do inquire if there's a particular edge case you're unsure about.

TDATA writer here. Didn't pop in till near the end of the last thread.
I think it's all about perspective. If someone else has done a story similar to yours already, but that's not really a bad thing. It means that the idea is one that you know is good. It shows that other people aren't just willing to read it, but also to write it. There's no uncertainty to it.
You're also able to see how someone else went about it first and learn from it. Seeing the strengths and weaknesses of similar works allows you to avoid issues before you walk into them.
And yeah, making short stories definitely helps. I did a few under a different name to see if I could actually finish something. And I did! It also taught me what I was comfortable with writing and what I wasn't.
If you're interested in some unsolicited suggestions about your idea, I could share them too, though I'll leave that to you.

Scalies using loincloths as more of a fashion statement than actually trying to hide their modesty.

Do you know that snake venom is very drinkable and would be one of the stupidest ways to find out you have stomach ulcers?

"Genderless" isn't the same as "sexless"; given that Digimon are data and don't reproduce sexually, they wouldn't really have a concept of gender or gender roles. That being said, it's fairly obvious that they have physical sexes - one look at something like Angewomon should make it obvious that they have the anatomy. Given they've cobbled together their physical appearances from data collected from the Internet (and then share that data around), it's totally possible for a Digimon to have male or female parts without understanding what those bits are actually for.

>dragons need washing because they naturally smell like SULPHUR!
That only apply to fire dragons
Water dragons are also stinky but because they are half feesh
Electric dragons release ozone which is toxic

Ice dragons are the true choice, they smell like fresh mint
