Made a few mil off crypto recently and left my dead end job. Mid-20's, little family to speak of, and only a few friends dispersed across various U.S. cities. World is my oyster, but the prospect of absolute freedom is daunting. Was thinking of heading to Latin America because it seems more open to foreigners integrating and living there semi long-term (compared to SEA/Asia). Trying to avoid running into a bunch of America boomers (like Costa Rica) or 'passport bros' in DR/Colombia. But still want somewhere comfy to NEET, lift weights, learn the local language etc. Thinking maybe Brazil? Portuguese means higher barrier to entry, plus it's further from U.S./Canada. Any other ideas? Where would you go /trv/?
>>2645167Come to Argentina.Do NOT go to Mexico.
>>2645167>Made a few mil off crypto recentlySure you did lol. What's with those constant threads by self-proclaimed "crypto millionaires" on this board?
>>2645167why not just get thai elite visa? latam bros can smell new money from a mile away. you will be targeted.
>>2645168Interesting, where in Argentina do you recommend anon? BA? I've heard Argentines aren't that fond of outsiders (especially given that I'm part non-white kek). And why not Mexico? I'm assuming you mean there's too many Americans retirees>>2645174Well anon, given that there's a different board here entirely dedicated to becoming a crypto millionaire, not sure why it's so surprising. Been browsing this godforsaken basket weaving forum since middle school and got into crypto in 2018. Anons on this site were discussing Bitcoin on /g/ back in 2011. I have put virtually all of my spare discretionary income into it since 2018. It's really quite easy to make money in crypto if you have a strategy and you're not a normalfag that falls for obvious scams. As one example, I bought Quant (QNT) at an avg of ~$3 in 2019 thanks to this site, and sold at ~$312 in 2021. I then reinvested that money into Fetch.ai (FET) in 2023, and made a bunch more recently. Go look at the charts of those projects on Coinmarketcap and maybe then you'll understand.>>2645179Not that interested in Thai (and SEA) culture/food etc. Would also like to learn the language of the place I go to and Portuguese seems more plausible than Thai. Thailand is also super heavily touristed, which isn't so appealing. Can you elaborate on the new money thing? Ideally I'd live where the rich people do, are you saying I'd still be targeted?
>>2645189Well done anon, recognise you have essentially been gambling and it has paid off massively.... especially if you're entire insight has been left up to the geniuses over on /biz/... If you haven't sold up and diversified your assets yet I'd encourage you to do that. BTC would be the only thing I'd consider holding a small amount of.Do NOT purchase the Thai elite visa, it's a complete scam, does not count towards PRC and does not allow you to work.Maybe try Eastern Europe?I think your biggest concern is going to be finding a social circle / purpose in your life when you have essentially completed it so early on.
>>2645167honestly you should just start a business in a city you like. Marry a local, buy property, keep making money so you can travel more. All the anons going to SEA or latin America are only doing it because they're poor incels here, if you got money that could be used in the west you might as well use it.Fucking local whores and drinking 50 cent beers will only bring you so much happiness, you'll an hero or get murdered before 40 if you really do move to a third world country.
>>2645167I think you have the right idea of what to do, but you should travel to all the places you might have any interest in living before just going to one place and settling in.>Thinking maybe Brazil?>Portuguese means higher barrier to entry, plus it's further from U.S./Canada.I consider both of those things a positive. You should start researching long term visas for different countries and citizenship requirements.>Can you elaborate on the new money thing? Ideally I'd live where the rich people do, are you saying I'd still be targeted?I'd focus on checking out places in the Sothern Cone region, it's generally safer and more European culture influenced than the meme latam destinations>I've heard Argentines aren't that fond of outsiders (especially given that I'm part non-white kek)I've always found them very friendly and welcoming, but I am white, so you'll have to see for yourself

>>2645189>Ideally I'd live where the rich people do, are you saying I'd still be targeted?the fact you have to ask this question implies you arent prepared. the rich natives are routinely targeted; frequently kidnapped and ransomed. which is not say you shouldnt go but be aware of the tradeoffs. the tradeoffs to personal safety are almost nonexistent in thailand and se asia more generally (excluding cambodia). what is the point of making it when you cant enjoy it due to hypervigilance? https://youtu.be/8Z_YfDXYgRQ?t=446https://youtu.be/8Z_YfDXYgRQ?t=1595
>>2645167Well done OP. I've been on /biz/ since 2017 but haven't made it yet because I fell into swing trading. Got about $500k in crypto atm so I'll make it this run. For me it's Indonesia but I like to live a very minimalist life in nature. I dream of just a $15k wooden house on a beach or in a mountain. Fuck latam too dangerous

>>2645540How is that being a greedy Jew? If you got lucky with crypto, you’ve been given an opportunity that your ancestors only ever dreamed about. <$10M isn’t even enough for you to live comfortably in forever in a first world country, but not only could you reach that amount above $10M you could have enough that you’d set up your kids and grandkids to actually live a good life and be somebody. I can’t think of anything less greedy and more selfless than that. Take the gift, work your ass off, and gift it back to your progeny 10 fold ffs.
>>2645557There's no reason to think you'll achieve above market rate returns from starting a business you aren't qualified to run and have no experience with and larping as an "investor" is an even worse idea
>>2645167Brazil sucks. They elected a socialist government that will probably try to take your money. And the crime is outrageous, its worse than mexico as far as petty robbery type crime. Brazil has always been more of a nanny state than Spanish latin america in a lot of ways. So that leaves Argentina, maybe Uruguay. I'd personally recommend Panama though. It's popular among wealthy expats but it's not full of gayass boomer hippies so much like Costa Rica. It's also very international, lots of Chinese and now Russians there, the place is a major transshipment point for goods to the rest of latam so it's very easy to find things you're looking for (i.e. supplements or the other kind of supplements if you want them). It's very well connected as far as flights, Miami is 2 hours and you can fly from there to anywhere in latin america easily and to europe as well. It's relatively safe and there's a lot of nightlife and escorts too if you want that. Also fairly familiar with American culture compared to a lot of latam countries so gyms that are up to American standards aren't uncommon (you'd be surprised how little of that you find in a lot of latin america) where the culture around gyms and nutrition doesn't really exist.

I don't know how anyone can still trust crypto after that unless you are one of the oily rats in on the scheme. You can't even give us a fake folio screenshot. Faggot. Why this thread is still up is beyond me.
OP I don't think you're getting good advice yet. Your most important choice in the next few years is who you spend your life with, and you will likely meet her in one of the countries you choose to explore. What qualities do you want her to have? What language do you need her to speak and will you learn it. What do you want your kids to look like? Also, some countries are much easier to settle in than others. You can probably get citizenship anywhere you marry, but having a tax treaty with the USA is another thing (assuming you're American here)Also down the road, you will need safety, health care and education for your children. Those take some planning in the third world and exist moreso in pockets than across the board. Finally, what do you want to see? Most of the developed world and most big city centers are just like the West/the USA. They might speak a different language and have different holidays but its the same shit. Soulless people, shopping, social media, western movies. The real rest of the world begins about 4 hours from the closest airport. There are still many places in the world that have a soul and can change you and your perspectives but you have to look harder to find them.Let me give you a good algorithm: find an app where you can find penpals. Really try. You will see that some cultures foster friendships much more than others. Then go and visit your penpals and you will see how they live. You will probably find a place or two that really strikes a chord with you and your vision of what's important in life. For me one of those was Kurdistan in SE Turkey. They were the absolute friendliest people I've met and they're raised like that since they can talk. I did that and found my wife in a small mountain village in a Latin country where there is still a high % of Spanish admixture but little outside influence. I'm poor but won the lottery there. Its a good approach.
>>2645915>I'm not a wagie, and I certainly didn't need to larp on other boards and artificially raise speculative value for the latest shitcoin to pump and dump in order to 'make' it as you claimYou really think anyone would come on this dead travel board to pump a shitcoin? I'd considered it but my concern was that I've heard it's surprisingly expensive given that it's fully dollarized but it's still kinda rundown in many ways so not a great value. It's like most latin american countries, there are very affluent areas and very poor areas not far away. Prices are subjective, services are more than they are in a lot of latam but goods are cheaper (due to better tax treatment and being a transshipment point) than you get in most of latam. Remember latin america doesn't make anything besides coffee and bananas so everything is imported and import taxes are high, a laptop computer or Nikes are going to be like double what you pay in the states (why a flight to Miami is so popular with the latinamerican middle class) but in Panama it's somewhat cheaper and a wider variety of goods are available without paying too much. You can buy something like a 18 year old scotch in panama and pay about what it costs in the UK but this gets really difficult in places like Argentina or Ecuador. All of latin america isn't a great choice right now though. The region overreacted to covid and dealt with it in a very ignorant way and is economically fucked off for it and has become politically destabilized and insecurity is high.
>>2646027>move to Panama

OP back again, thanks to all the anons giving genuine advice itt, I really appreciate it. Though I unironically thought the same thing, better chance of acceptance compared to Argentina.>>2645834Thanks anon. TRAC is a solid hold, I remember looking at it when it was ~$0.02 in 2019, wish I had bought some. It's well positioned for the big narratives this upcoming run.>>2645804Well I was being a bit hyperbolic, but desu anon if you're suggesting that plenty of people don't squander their wealth by pouring it into ill-fated businesses which they start mainly to bolster their own egos, then I think it's pretty clear to observers who the retarded one is here.>>2645929I appreciate your mature insights anon, lots to think about here. This is the general train of thought I've been on (I am American btw). One of the things I've come to better recognize as I get older is the importance of being honest with myself about what I value. While I care about finding a place with soul, I also don't necessarily want to live in a village in Kurdistan (though visiting would be cool). I feel I'd have a better chance of integrating (learning language/culture, finding a partner etc.) somewhere in South America or maybe the Mediterranean which is why I'm not really looking at SEA or EE.The penpal thing is a fantastic idea. Any app you'd recommend? And can you elaborate on how you met your wife? Which Latin country (guessing maybe Paraguay from your description)? Do you live in her village or are you based somewhere else in her country? Finding a good partner is very much on my mind but didn't want to mention it in the OP as discussions of women here tend to bring out the worst of /trv/ (coomers, seething incels, male feminists, etc.).
>>2646022OP here. I've considered this but to be fair if I followed the example of wealthy Latin Americans I'd move to Miami and piss away my money buying a boat and exotic cars, getting tables at the club, 'sponsoring' Eastern European whores, and investing in shady real estate deals. Given that I already have American citizenship, my money in a (comparatively) stable banking system and am not completely dependent on the trajectory of a single LATAM country, my situation seems a bit different. Though I would probably plan to split time and spend part of the year back in the U.S.>>2646027Interesting, thank you this is helpful info. Good point about covid and the resultant instability in LATAM, though to be fair it seems like it's always something with this region. But where would you look if not there, if you were in my position? Not interested in going to Africa desu (except maybe Morocco). Asia, the languages are too difficult, a westerner could never integrate etc., plus I don't like Asian girls kek. EE doesn't seem like a good option with the war and Russians flooding in everywhere. My brother was in Georgia for work recently and said Russians have driven prices way up in Tblisi and throughout the region and locals are growing resentful. The only region other than the Americas that seems attractive is the Mediterranean but I don't have St. Tropez/Marbella tier money so idk.>>2646031>>2646035This is kind of what I was talking about regarding Panama, obviously everyone has rundown places, but my impression is that you things are more expensive compared to the rest of latam without being accordingly nicer. Rundown but cheap is understandable, nice but expensive is understandable, it's rundown but still western prices that I want to avoid. Reasonably nice but still cheap is ideal, I've heard Malaysia can be like this, trying to find a latam equivalent I guess.

The reality is most people who made it in crypto are dork faggot losers who never leave their room so the only thing that changes about their life is their compulsive need to GLOAT and BELLOW about how they “‘made it” despite the fact that they’re still sitting in their room, with atrophied social skills, probably not having sex, or doing anything cool with their life. Many such cases. So the best thing in their life is the dopamine hit from making these threads so a small pool of an aspiring dork faggots can fellate him.I know dudes who are tech wagies working 2-3 jobs making a quarter mill a year and they still just hide in their room, hide from life, and the only dopemanine hit they have in their life is smugly and vaguely hinting >”oh I don’t actually have to deal with that because muh money”Nobody is doubting the ability to get rich off crypto, but the reality of most of these losers lives isn’t Andrew tate etc etc. The reality is in order to make it you have to be an autistic dork faggot who’s constantly staring at screens or facefucking your coding textbook all throughout college. OP back again, thanks to all the anons responding seriously. This thread turned incredibly cancerous due to a few midwits seething about crypto when I wanted to keep this strictly /trv/ focused.>>2646842Your're right about everywhere being innundated. I remember growing up dreaming of travel, but now that I'm actually able to do it, it feels like everything's oversaturated with tourists and there's nowhere to go. I considered Georgia and actually dated a Georgian girl in the U.S. for a while, but as I said here >>2646109 my brother actually spent a few months in Tblisi for work recently and said it's been flooded with Russians and the overall sentiment towards the foreigners flooding into the country is shifting negative. He did say how he could see how it could be great even 5 years ago. That Nomad Capitalist guy has been shilling Georgia for like a decade now.>>2648474Yeah this thread went in a weird direction unfortunately. Brazil and Argentina were my top 2 choices since Uruguay seems too boring. What's the sentiment like towards Americans/foreigners in Brazil?I'm hoping to avoid a Colombia situation where gringo coomers have flooded into the country over the past 10-15 years (and especially the last ~2-3) acting terribly, driving up prices, and giving all male visitors a bad reputation. I personally don't even care about dating/girls that much which is why I'm considering Argentina despite being mulatto. Just don't want to be branded a sex tourist upon arrival.
>>2649048>What's the sentiment like towards Americans/foreigners in Brazil?I'm American and felt like Brazilians generally like foreigners since they don't get that many tourists>I'm hoping to avoid a Colombia situation where gringo coomers have flooded into the country over the past 10-15 yearsAs long as you aren't personally obnoxious about harassing women it's not an issue in Brazil or Argentina. Most of the retarded passport bros think Brazil is too dangerous or expensive or something, and Argentina is too far away and doesn't have typical latin girls. They both actually have excellent cooming options, but the scenes are more out of site and there's not as many desperately poor girls trying to date foreigners and the scams and shit that come with that.
>>2649101Interesting, thanks for your input on this. It seems my general intuition about the situation was accurate then. The combo of Portuguese rather than Spanish, dangerous reputation, and being further from the US/Canada has shielded Brazil from the worst of the Passport Bro types. I'm aware these guys have been around forever going back to Roosh et al., but the current iteration of self-styled "passport bros' is just awful and they can't keep their mouths shut. Seriously might have to visit Brazil before they try and turn it into the next DR/Colombia/Thailand/PH. Maybe Argentine racism will help keep them out.Do you have a preference between ARG and BR? >>2649134>feel safe to wander around at any time. How? And what do you mean "at any time"? I never felt safe. Even carrying two bottles of coke got me comments from villeros. Sure nothing happened, but that was at Retiro, where a police officer was killed by a villero proudly proclaiming as he was put in the cop car "YO ONIONS EL JEFE!!". And that's just Buenos Aires. Rosario has been completely taken over by cartels. I'm really not sure how you can feel safe in any Argentine city. The countryside is better, but still feels shady in parts.

Generally speaking maybe some girls would like to, but they are mostly very family oriented, and boomers can't speak even english at all so that is a major inconvenience. Well, maybe if you're rich AND good looking, you have a chance, but good god, living there is not fun. And don't think that girls will be easy, there are already a lot of wannabe millionaires and 8-10/10 girls are harder to marry than in the US imo. It would be a lot easier if you were an American, cause living in the US is far more attractive than anything else you can offer. Also bongs don't have a good press here. I wouldn't personally bother, get a hot Greek or Italian girl.
>>2649400Thanks for the info. Met a hot Italian girl in Indonesia actually but something was missing. Maybe I just like submissive traditional

>>2649400>marrying is VERY hard if you are a foreignerWhy?
>>2649597I just know it. Polish people are very closed to themselves, their boomer parents even more. I know only 1 girl that is engaged to an Italian guy, but Italians are known as the hot guys. British and Germans are despised here. How do you even imagine marrying here if you can't talk with her parents? Boomers know only russian or german(barely) if anything at all. I'm not even considering that, but if you're brown then you have 0 chance of a relationship, we are very racist. But if you think that this slavhole is some paradise then learn the language and go on. Just don't say I didn't warn you.
>>2649250basically soi translates to onions because on fit consuming onions equated to high test and consuming soibean products equated to low test, obviously some tranny jannies got miffed about people constantly berating their favourite food and beverage so they filtered out soi to piss off the high T onion chads

>>2649820Man, i am Polish and Youre talking bullshit.Marrying a Polish girl as a northwestern european is not any harder than in any other eastern shithole. The real problem is the language bareer, and not the fact that they dispise you for your natuonality, quote the opposite. The english speaking level for the average person allows for a shallow conversation, which can allow you to get a girl into the bed if you don't fuck up, but it is most often insufficient to maintain a long term relationship. And what do the boomer parents have to do with it? You're marrying the girl, not her parents.
>>2650257So you're basically agreeing with me?> You're marrying the girl, not her parents.Kek, you're not even 20, are you?
>>2650270No you said that that brits and germans are despised there, which is opposite to true. I am 30 and i probably know about the marriage in Poland more than You do.
>>2649355> 40> has money, is white, is UK citizen> just wants kids ASAPLevel up your appearance with fitness, grooming, hygiene, hair meds if you need to, and a get in a good skincare routine, then go straight to Eastern Europe or Latin America. >>2645167Hey OP. I've made similar moves and seen about a $1.2M total profit since pre-2017 bull market. Can't say what you should do, but here's what I'm doing. Not quitting my job. Unfortunately many things such as loans, landlords, and leases can't fathom giving your funding without a source of income. Unless you've cashed out and paid taxes, many people will be hesitant to provide you with a loan. ESPECIALLY as liquidity for banks is starting to strain. What I am doing is going looking for a part time remote job that will allow me low stress and "something to do". In the meantime, I'm making a plan to travel internationally and search for a Plan B location. Besides, you ALWAYS need a backup plan and an exit strategy. My time now is spent coasting on my job and focusing on a few other things. (1) Duolingo for Spanish (2) building a list of things to do that last one month straight in each location and (3) listening to economic podcast and media. You're heavily weighted on crypto, so your journey and economic situation depend on the crypto price so you need to keep abreast of it and dive DEEPER into macro now that you have the time. Also, listen to a channel called 'Nomad Capitalist'. He talks about the benefits of citizenship of different countries and can help you out. When you live there, you become their property. Just because you go to Brazil doesn't mean you're exempt from Brazilian taxes.I'm personally traveling to Chile this August and renting an AirBnB in Santiago / the coast. I'll be going to Uruguay afterwards. I would not buy ANYTHING in terms of real estate or passports until you've visited for one month. You never know if you'll like it until you go there. I also think you shouldn't write-off CR, DR, Colombia, and Panama. If you're in these countries for the long-term, you need to also consider how to best take care of yourself when you're old. Brazil may be good now but idk if I'd say the same if you're 70 years old.
>>2651085I'm in the same position as you (but about half as much in crypto). Moving to semi retirement next year. For guys who've made it on crypto and no longer have paychecks coming in:how do you cash out? do you just off-ramp to your bank account and then spend? Also trying to figure out where to retire. Thinking maybe just hop around south east asia for a couple years but that gets tiresome, need to have a home base. I have EU and Canadian passport, so maybe somewhere in eastern europe, then again south america is appealing, love latinas. Apparently Argentina grants citizenship to people who've lived there 2 years, not sure how you live there 2 years without citizenship, but yeah I want to leave Canada.
>>2645174Crypto is really old now. I think the first time I read about bitcoin was over a decade ago now. Not sure if this guy is larping or not but I suspect it's way more common than people realise. So many people knew about it, the bar was so low, all you had to do was realise the potential and have the balls to put $10k or more into btc/eth or to put $1k or more into shitcoins.I have $500k worth in mid twenties which isn't enough to retire but i'd be amazed if I don't hit 1-3 mil by my early thirties. >>2651692i knew about it, learned all the regulations and laws out of paranoia, lost money, then unironically used my knowledge to become a high level fed. people won't believe me but its true. now im not allowed to own crypto basically, but I sold out and have a cozy six figure salary. I own two sailboats nownot even kidding Someone said I could make as much as 300k switching sides again working for kraken, but I won't, because what I'm after now... lets just say its something money can't buy.
>>2651695yeah I've known about this law but it doesn't make sense to mesay I've been holding Apu for a year and want to cash out? how the hell do I do that? just send Apu to my bank? I guess it'd have to be on an exchange that would trade Apu for Euro? Do they ask to see your records or something? Any idea how to become a tax resident as well? I've only lived in Canada, I have a german passport cause my mom's German.
>>2652834>just send Apu to my bank? IYes, all major banks accept apu. Your account will be credited in apu, I have a Chase account, I just go to the atm, press other, currencies, then apu to withdraw apu or whatever shitcoin I sent to my bank
>>2652853haha exactlysee what I mean
>>2652834Alternatively, just speak to your finance department at work about paying you in apu. I've get been getting paid in Jews did 911 since it launched last month.
>>2652856>see what I meanNo. Nobody sees what you mean because this is an anonymous board, you reddit retard.
>>2652834>I guess it'd have to be on an exchange that would trade Apu for Euro?yes>Do they ask to see your records or something?usually no, they have software that traces shit on the blockchains>Any idea how to become a tax resident as well? For most countries it's from living there longer than 180 days in a year, since you have a German passport you won't have any problem staying that long, your issue will be proving to Canada that you're no longer a tax resident
>>2652867I've heard it's easy to apply for non residence in canada. Also I have family and close friends in Germany, they say I can live with them if I want.
>>2652867Any idea how they even prove how long you've been in a country? Last time I flew into Europe they never gave me a stamp or anything, but I guess I did scan my passport now that I think about it.
>>2652878>Any idea how they even prove how long you've been in a country? Some common ways are entry/exit stamps, accommodation bookings/leases, travel itineraries like your flight tickets, cell phone location records, any records of appointments you had or receipts from places in that country. It's not an exact science and it's usually the country you're leaving that will be up your ass about proving you aren't a resident anymore since they're the ones losing money, you want to make as clean a break as possible and the main way is to not keep a lease or own a house or business there. How much crypto are you even planning to sell? It will matter for how much they care about fighting you over it.
>>2653065Yeah that makes sense. I just checked and it looks like if you are outside of Canada for 183 days of a year you are not considered a resident and don't have to pay tax on capital gains, as well as if you are in Germany for 180 days of the year you are considered a resident, so basically all I'd have to do is move to Germany for half a year. Might be kind of boring since I'd rather be in SEA or something, but it could be good too.
