Chicago zoo is free

i'll recommend you the same thing i recommend everyone else - architectural boat tour. not terribly expensive, fun and educational, and most likely there won't be too many minorities aboard the boat

South side has some cheap restaurants

Walk around the Riverwalk and the area just north of there and south of there until millennium Park ends. get a drink at the rooftop bar at Trump Tower. Ride around on the l train.

Go to a Cubs game. Wrigley Field is great and the surrounding area is fun. Full of good looking women in their 20s

fly to midway but it's probably too late to change that.
bike the lakefront trail, southern half is nicer imo, less crowded, no dumb pedestrians walking on the bike path. could stop in hyde park at the museum, check out the university campus, could go all the way to steelworkers park and calumet fisheries. bar and music scene is good on the northern halves of blue and red/brown lines. yeah baseball, zoo, garfield park conservatory, architecture boat, any of the museums are good. some people like chinatown, I'm more of an asia on argyle person.

Only the Lincoln Park zoo. Brookfield isn't free.

To OP, get some Italian beef. My favorite is Mr. Beef. You won't be disappointed.

I was there in 2015 and absolutely loved all the local places. Russian Tea Time, Sarpinos, Borinquen, Maxwell Street Market, Piccolo Mondo, Julius Meinl, Chicago Curry House, Burt’s Pizza, Top Notch Beefburgers, on and on.

The food was fine but what stuck with me was how much personality each of these places had. They’re probably all gone now
