What's with the legion of zoomers wearing these thinks while travelling? No one uses these things in my country, is it just some kind of zoomer tourist uniform or do people actually use these in their home countries?
>>
>>2716517
Is this your first time traveling? Shit like this has been all over for decades
>>
>>2716517
its called a fanny pack .... nigga. boomers wear them, zoomers wear them. boomers were them underneath their fat belly.
>>
>>2716519
>>2716522
These were here and their in the 90s and they were called "bum bags", not vagina packs. It's only been the last few years that it seems like every weedy 20 year old wears one on their chest.
>>
Well I am traveling for the first time and they are all over Japan, I've never seen them in LA
>>
>>2716517
It's useful you dumb bitch. What do you do? Carry shit around in your fucking pockets?
>>
backpack chads, report in
>>
What’s the issue with them? Seem pretty convenient. Are you just making this thread to seethe at zoomers?
>>
>>2716517
This is for things too big or numerous for pockets but not big or numerous enough for a backpack, also you can place it in an easily accessible yet safe place, like in your picture
>>
Went to Barcelona recently and everyone told me how bad the pickpockets were. I got one of these and saw hundreds more around the tourist sites
>>
>old man yells at cloud
jfc who cares?
>>
>>2716517
OP is probably a pickpocket fag
>>
>>2716517
>No one uses these things in my country
Wow, really? I never would've guessed that people from other countries would do things differently!
>>
>>2716517
the popularity of sweatpants, joggers, sweatpant shorts, afford themselves to an excuse to wear the murse
or street style fashion euros
or chavy equivalent of italians
>>
>>2716517
There's only one reason everyone uses these pouches, and it's not for style. It's because they cannot be raided by pickpockets or grabbed by snatch thieves, unlike a backpack, purse, or wallet.
>>
>>2716587
Every street vendor in Colombia keeps their money in one of these pouches, usually at belt level.
>>
>>2716517
It’s an anti-theft backpack
>>
>manlets ITT actually getting pick pocketed
Literally not an issue for anyone over 6ft who works out, unless they leave their valuables hanging out of their pocket.
>>
>>2716534
Yes, that's why god gave us cargo shorts.
>>
>>2716788
all it takes to steal one is unlocking it from behind and run away
>>
>>2716742
This is BS, us zoomies in small beachside Australian towns wear these.
>>
>>2716517
Its for putting your iPhone Gigamaxx 69 elite Pro directly above your heart so you can pump radiation in 5G directly into your vaxx clotted aortas
>>
>>2716517
Would this not be convenient for something like a passport or snacks when you're overseas? It seems much more convenient than an entire backpack.
>>
>>2716525
>>
>>2716519
>decades
Not really, maybe a decade max. At least the cross body version. Smartphones have only been around for a decade, this cross body gayness coincides with having to carry more junk, especially electronics.
>>
It's hard to believe that anyone would consider wearing one of these cringe bags. They make the wearer look like a pathetic goober.
>>
I wear one on a regular basis, on my back though, not chest. I have my swim shorts on and flip flops, the rest goes in the bag. Keys. Sunscreen. Whatever, why carry a backpack or some other bullshit? Most pragmatic. But I'm also european so maybe it's an european thing
>>
>>2716517
they think it makes them look cool
>>
>>2717681
>Smartphones have only been around for a decade
Umm, anon, they've been around for almost two decades. The earliest known smartphone I could find was from 2006. Assuming we're talking about phones that are mostly glass on the front, and has very few buttons. The very first iPhone was released in 2007, if you want to set that as the benchmark.
>>
>>2716587
I want to fill my pockets with peanut butter and walk around tourist sites
>>
>>2716517
I’m 33 and wear a small cross body one. I put my room key, phone, and small change for taxis in mine.

It’s so when I’m drunk I don’t get pick pick-pocketed or have stuff fall out of my pockets when I sit down etc. just feels more secure. That’s just me tho.
>>
>>2716517
It's an NPC identification badge. Slaves to trends and conformity.
>>
>>2716517
Are you meant to wear these on your shoulder or waist?
>>
>>2716517
I wear one, currently in Thailand. Theyre great esp near the beach. I dont have to get my shit wet in wet swimtrunks and i can put all my shit down in one motion.
>>
>>2717681
>>Smartphones have only been around for a decade
Found the third worlder
>>
>>2716517
Shit is great for the essentials: Phone, keys, passport and wallet.
>>2719270
Shoulder is how zoomers wear it. You can get a good look before you take your stuff out.
>>
What exactly is dorky about these? It’s convenient for carrying essentials and prevents being pickpocketed. Why is a small bag slung around someone’s body able to generate so much seethe? Is wearing a normal sized backpack better or something?
>>
>>2716517
The whole Zoomer culture is aped from blacks. It's like the 2020s version of wiggers from the 90s, but more pervasive.

That said, these man purses are carried by blacks to hold their pistols. Quick access,.plus you cam dump the gun quickly if necessary. Zoomers just think it looks cool and are copying it.
>>
>>2716788
It also tells everyone that you're a tourist with probably a lot of money and that you carry all your valuables in this bag
>>
>>2719861
As if my white skin doesnt already send that message
>>
>>2719676
What exactly am I supposed to use instead?
>>
>>2719861
You are fucking retarded
>>
>>2719433
aging americans who think everything is gay that's literally it or get mad because it's an identifiable mainstream thing and that makes autists angry

I will say it's interesting to see an inversion of a once stigmatized item like this same with crocs or sandals with socks. You can guage trends by seethe.

They're useful.
>>
Probably a trend
>>
>>2716517
these have been around since the 70s and are incredibly popular in europe and south asia
>>
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's a fanny pack.

Lmao some trend learned from ghetto dwellers like wearing your ball cap backwards to signal to the world you are dumb
>>
>>2716800
I bet you stink
>>
>>2716517
in eastern europe those are holsters there's usually an old tokarev inside.

I wear the flat rectangular ones at hip height, does the purpose but feels more inconspicuous. Is this /fa/-approved?

Totally fine except when you need to run chasing a bus it bounces everywhere I am going for OP's bag since

Backpacks are even easier to pickpocket from than pant or jacket pockets. They will quietly unzip the pouches and take what they want from an even worse blindspot and you dont feel it due to the modern padded straps and generally how loose people wear backpacks. The more comfortable the backpack, the less tactile feedback you get when somone opens it behind you.

Wearing a backpack on your chest japanese style is the only safe way, unless you use tiny padlocks on each zipper pouch.
>>
>>2722811
Oh no someone stole my toilet paper, umbrella and bottle of water from my backpack with zero zippers lmao you spergs are hilarious
>>
>>2716522
I refer to them as European man bags. Since the only people I have ever seen with them are euro-cucks.
>>
>>2716587
I keep my wallet tucked between my ass cheeks.
>>
>>2716522
why do i want one now? i think they are cute
>>
>>2722933
>Nothing of value is ever in the backpack
>just a waterbottle bro!
Fuck off.
The backpack is fine you just need the travel padlocks for the zippers, or go zipperless with leather buckle straps that are harder to open without alerting you. But a normal backpack you used at university for your laptop is not cut out for travel.

I've traveled full time with this (REI flash 15 they don't make it anymore) for 4 years and never had anything stolen . It doesn't even have the drawstring anymore. People that put wallets and phones in backpacks deserve to be robbed what you don't think thieves see you put it there then target you
>>
>>2723164
So where do you keep your wallet, passport, phone and hotel key? The original backpack reply was to the guy saying "use a backpack instead of Op's pouch".
Op's pouch is for valuable things, so replacing it with a backpack means they are in it instead.
>>
>>2723168
They're called pockets. Are you really telling me you won't notice someone put their hands in your pants?
>>
>>2723168
In my pockets, ops image is a bad idea for valuables too maybe keep a snickers and a water bottle and an umbrella in there

Everywhere I go I carry around my phone, keys, wallet, a pen, something to write on. And depending on what im doing other shit as well. Yeah putting all of that shit in a cross body bag or fannypack or whatever you wanna call it is more convenient and comfortable. Yeah people make jokes but I prefer comfort and convenience over people’s opinions. Most people look like complete shit anyways myself included so who cares about people’s opinion.
>>
>>2716517
I'm a millennial and I bought one of these for Japan like everyone else does and loved it so much I usually use it for trips anywhere now. I got the Tomtoc x-pac one.
It's just very convenient to be able to keep some random stuff out of my pockets like a kindle, headphones, chap stick. And the anchor points with an s-biner was very convenient for hanging stuff like shopping bags.
I usually wear it slung on my back and only switch it to the front to access stuff or if I'm in a bad area and want to keep an eye on it.
>>
>>2723192
i ordered two bc of this faggoty thread AND to get free shiping. One is for general purpose to see if I like it the other is for travel...hoping to transition fully soon

Wouldn't a bag like this be better? Might even be able to attach the bag to backpack strap.
I imagine the fanny pack is just going to rotate so bag portion is at your hip if there's any weight in it.
>>
>>2716563
Reporting in, because I'm not a homosexual I don't wear a man purse or a faggypack.
>>
>>2716517
Literally everyone in Indonesia wears something like this. Tourists and locals alike.
>>
I had one of these when I traveled, it annoyed the living shit out me. Wearing a backpack 24/7 is fucking infuriating.

Next time I travel, I'm gonna get a traditionally fanny pack like pic related. Surely a bag just on your belt is way more comfortable? Can anyone chime in whose worn a backpack like OP vs a fanny pack?
>>
>>2716517
What is this millennial thing that just assumes anything younger people do is just automatically dumb? Yeah some generations figured out some advanced stuff don't be a faggot about it its called human evolution.
>>
>>2726062

>>

That bag ain't /fa/.
>>
faggots ITT being flabbergasted by other people using fanny bags reminded me of that fat bitch that took a picture of a middle aged man with a backpack saying it was cringe online almost a decade ago or so
