What are the pros and cons of living in Australia
>>
Lived there for a few years. The cities are relatively safe and the nature is great. If you’re into camping and hiking there’s a lot to see. Probably some of the best beaches I’ve seen too. Cons are the cities are very spread out and the public transport in the suburbs doesn’t cover a lot and it’s infrequent so you’ll probably need a car and the food in most places is quite shite too.
>>
You have a lot of countryside, snowy Mountains, and the culture of Food is good, like Schnitzel and high quality Sausages
>>
>>2723559
Pros: if you're a surfer you'll love it. Australia has some of the best waves on Earth
Amazing, unique wilderness
Australians are known for being friendly and outgoing, you'll make friends in no time

Cons
Unaffordable housing
Terrible job market
If you step out of the cities you risk running into abos and bogans
Terrifying, unique wildlife
>>
Australia is an unbeliavable nanny state, worse than Northern Europe. Everything that could possibly be fun is banned.
>>
>>2723626
Is it illegal to hitchhike in Australia?
>>2723619
How viable would it be to buy a bicycle and some camping equipment and spend some time exploring Australia that way?
I've also heard about people getting work permits and working seasonal jobs in Australia. Considered giving it a try in years past, but my current seasonal arrangement in America pays $20/hour with total living expenses about $25/day for much better QOL than a crowded, smelly worker dorm on an Australian orchard.
>>
>>2723850
>bicycle
Where the fuck are you planning to ride? Do you realise that Australia is the same size as America except with like 8 cities in total?
>>
>>2723619
>Australians are known for being friendly and outgoing, you'll make friends in no time
all of australia is like portland oregon now, everyone aged 18-35 is a leftist shithead
>>
>>2724343
trump lost
>>
It's basically Florida with Chinese and Indians.
>>
>>2724438
We'll wait and see about that one, if he win's you'll have to go back
>>
>>2723619
i'm asian and I plan on moving to aussie in the future are they racist or not
>>
>>2725990
No, but they won't let you join their friend groups. Instead you'll find yourself mingling with other Asians. You won't have a problem with this though.
>>
>>2723619
>Terrible job market
Compared to where? Australia certainly blows most of western Europe + Canada out of the water when it comes to wages and tax levels. I think they are only paid less than Americans and maybe Norwegians.
>>
>>2723626
Yeah as much as our nasally accented friends from down under love to posture as the 'travelers of the world' the reason there are so many of them traveling is because Australia has no freedom.
>>
>>2725990
depends entirely on whether you're wanting to try and intergrate into the culture, even if it's a small effort.
It's why SEA's are seen as better then Indian's.
>>
>>2723559
Pros:
Great barrier reef
Beaches

Cons:
Faggotry is in air there
Ultra-authoritarian, nanny government
Ultra passive-aggressive
Feminazi women
Beta cuck "Men"
hippiesque bum culture
Wannabe British
West Virginia with a beach
Expensive
ZOG utopia
Eco-fags that make life miserable
Dumbshit accent
America's bitch
>>
Queensland born and bred here, currently living internationally but i believe its the best country in the world although I am biased. I will comment on a few things.

>>2727509
Pros:
>Great barrier reef
kino
>Beaches
most likely the best beaches on the whole globe

Cons:
>Faggotry is in air there
depends where you look, sydney most definitely.
>Ultra-authoritarian, nanny government
not even going to argue with this as its correct
>Ultra passive-aggressive
probably yes, most of the boomers just fucken hate immigrant so this probably stems from this
>Feminazi women
yes, but we are not the only country with this issue fucken everywhere has this
>Beta cuck "Men"
depends where you look, as a whole I disagree but everyone has their own opinion
>hippiesque bum culture
depends where you look, most small beach towns and hinterland towns, yeah probably.
>Wannabe British
we fucken hate the british, we are like them by design. I really hate this I wish we had our own identity so I guess I can't argue with this one.
>West Virginia with a beach
no comment
>Expensive
yes, although most of western europe is around the same pricing, houses are expensive in cities but wtf do you expect?
>ZOG utopia
no idea what a zog is
>Eco-fags that make life miserable
not really, most EU countries are way more economical then AUS, from what I have seen we are wayyyy behind
>Dumbshit accent
probably, can't judge it as its my accent.
>America's bitch
yeah so fair this is correct, whatever stops us from being China's bitch.

Our biggest problem is definitely the government and affordability, but the salaries here are very high compared to most other places, the weather is nearly perfect year round too.

Also fuck living in the outback the country lifestyle would be the worst, you want a city but not Sydney or Melbourne in my opinion. Brisbane or Perth is where you want to be, even the Gold Coast.
>>
>Eco-fags that make life miserable
not really, most EU countries are way more economical then AUS, from what I have seen we are wayyyy behind

I meant to say "Ecologicaly friendly"
>>
>>2725990
If you call Australia 'aussie' you will be mocked to your face
>>
>>2728248
I'm indian and will call it whatever I want and if one of you racists criticizes me I will get you fired, ostracized and probs gonna smash your rotting teeth out . Don't mess with the warrior castes
>>
>2728259
really bad bait
>>
pros: nice wilderness

cons: everything,
no freedom
no rights
everything is expensive
everyone is rude
everyone is judgemental
extremely dangerous
crime everywhere
worst public transport in the developed world
corrupt cops
corrupt legal system
corrupt politicians
no right to self defence (its even worse than the uk)
You can't even enjoy the wilderness because of too many rules and rude people
>>
>>2723850
general rule of thumb is everything is illegal in Australia. If its not explicitly illegal, people will cry about it and it will be made defacto illegal.
Hitchhikers for example are persona non grata everywhere so theres usually a lot of rules that prohibit them from doing things, note rules end up being fines and court so its laws really.
>>
>>2728273
fortunately the tables are turning on letting poos in. while the lip service policies of the current govt are making an impact expect there to be more after the election next year.
>>
>>2723559
perth/WA experience:
pros:
clean, safe, english speaking, good weather, paid pretty well, plenty of work/low unemployment, road trips are great, amazing wildlife and beaches, isolated, close to SEA. high paying rostered FIFO work available

cons:
expensive, lot of meth around, coons, cliquey snobby people, isolated, can be dangerous out on the road, don't get stung by irukanji or eaten by a croc or shark. snakes and spiders aren't all that dangerous though, but be educated.. heat and isolation is probably more dangerous if you get lost or have no water.
>>
>>2728321
I'm not sure why yall care since you refuse to breed you literally have no stake in the future. Indians have penis in vagina sex raw dog and many babies. Thanks for building us a nice world to inherit I guess. Lmao
>>
>>2728327
you indians are just going to be bleached anyway, bleaching is inevitable.
Indians all want to become white anyway and you are half way there with your caucasoid features.
>>
>>2728333
Great, we can just claim we built everything
>>
>>2728335
the Irish will claim you are all irish that is your fate brown boy, to be bleached and plastic paddies
>>
>>2723559
its a car centric country
>>
>>2728335
You already do, nigger. Nothing will change.
>>
Pros: living
Cons: in Australia
>>
>>2728374
>>2728374
>Nothing will change

You really think nothing will change when we control the entire anglosphere? I think we can Make the Angloshere Great Again, with indian leadership and brains and utilizing the white rump remnants as a workforce along with Africans and latinox.
>>
>>2728367
I feel like anons who post shit like this on specifically this board never travel and never leave their home and thus should be ignored.
Australia is fucking vast so you'd actually want to have a car, though if you're so inclined it has a good bus network last time I was there, as well as having a train network which goes from one ass end of the country to the other.
Iirc most towns have some form of public transport, but the big places like Sydney and Melbourne defintely do including trams and subway systems.
>>
>>2724438
!remindme 3 days
>>
>>2723921
Along a road with no steep grades, I reckon.
Light traffic on the highways is great. Winter climate looks quite pleasant as well.
I'd buy an inflatable camping pad and sleep under the stars in the boonies, get groceries and water in towns. Then when I get tired of AUS, "donate" the bike to some abbos and fly out of the country.
>>
>>2723559

Cons are Australia is boring and expensive. Pros are it's a good place to raise a family and find work. We'll also probably survive a nuclear war between US and Russia.
>>
Pros:
Job industry is pretty good
Salaries are high.
This place has a charm to it (not at all biased), even the shitty "soulless" areas.

Cons:
Weather is good
Taxes are high
Most people here are cunts, especially the non Australians/non Whites.
Gubment is up everyone's ass
Housing is unaffordable
Housing is unaffordable
Housing is unaffordable
Housing is unaffordable

Overall I'd say most people who move here from the UK/Ireland really enjoy it and rarely regret their decisions.
Anyone else would probably enjoy the U.S more.
>>
>>2723559
You will conquer your fears of spiders.
>>
>>2723559
Funny I was thinking yesterday how Australia is one of the countries I would never want to go visit. Reason is because as an American, its far as fuck away and its an expensive ass country, and also there are fucking spiders and snakes and kangaroos everywhere that will fucking kill you. The people seem cool tho.
>>
Pros:
>Good beaches if you're interested in that
>Women are good looking
>English speaking country so no language barrier if you come from the Anglosphere yourself
>Generally considered a safe place to live

Cons
>The vast majority of the country is realistically uninhabitable, so you'll be stuck in a few parts of the country which are real expensive
>They have some of the least desirable reptiles and insects in the world
>It's hot
>>
>>2723559
I always called Australia a retirement village. Its quiet, it's wages are high, nothing ever changes as it feels it's permanently stuck in the early 1990s, it's people are nosy and it has basically no meaningful crime.
Its a great place to raise children and live a quiet suburban life, it's basically the American dream.
On the other hand, Australia is a nanny state that honestly has no comparison except for maybe Singapore and North Korea. Nearly anything and everything that is fun is illegal, I'm not even kidding, even most nerf gun varieties are banned in Australia. For over a decade they literally tried to essentially ban all nightlife and live music through lockout laws and forcing live music to pay for 2 police wages+fees for every 100 people, which gigs, which usually are passion projects, literally could not afford so the entire nightlife went bankrupt and it's never recovered.
Going through national parks and hiking is severely restricted and heavily policed. There was a massive crackdown on the doof scene which has driven it further underground.
You unironically need a permit to have a picnic, if you ride a bike without id or helmet you can get a fine 2x the same fine speeding in a car, everything has fines attached and police have quotas so if you are ever approached by a cop at the end of the month, expect half your week's wages just disappearing.
Huge distances and no meaningful public transport within cities, this means Australians become super cliquey and stay with largely their highschool/uni friends for life and are Sus of outsiders of their clique.
Australia has amazing beaches and outdoor stuff, but it's extremely stifling as a young person. I always recommend Australians to do Uni in the US or UK and spend their early-mid 20s overseas at least because if you spend it in Australia, 90% of the time you will end up very sheltered and not have many experiences which would be the norm to most non-Austrslians.
>>
>>2732047
Its just a worst version of the US honestly, you are getting the same US culture for the most part just with an insane nanny state and authoritarianism on top.
>>
I am going on a working holiday to Australia next year bros, starting off in Perth/WA. Anyone have any advice? I want to save money for traveling SEA for up to 6 months while also taking some back home (I am from poorfag Eastern Euro country)
>>
>>2732462
Find the local Doof scene, it's the closest thing you will get to an actual subculture and nightlife.
Look up Doof groups on Instagram, Facebook etc and try get to as many events as possible and schmooze.
https://www.reddit.com/r/perth/comments/1b7pl2r/bush_doofs_around_perthwa/
Doofers tend to make up a lot of "digital nomad" and international travelling types, so it's also good for making connections for international travel as well. Through my connections in the scene in Australia I was able to couch serf and get taken to fuckloads of underground events in Europe as well.

>all of australia is like portland oregon now, everyone aged 18-35 is a leftist shithead
Oh no, people outside of America have different views than you, how can you ever cope?
>>
>>2723559
>go to australia
>everyone describes their wife/husband/bf/gf as "my partner"
>ask for a waitress at a restaurant
>your SERVER will be right with you!

literal 1984 country
>>
>>2723626

The shoe fits.
>>
>>2725990

Not as racist as asians in their own countries.
>>
>>2732643

Lol, I always cringe when they say "partner".
>>
Are there any other yanks who visited Australia? Is it different enough from America to justify going that far? Like kangaroos are cute and all, but we got them in zoos here too.
>>2732643
Why do people say "partner"? I thought gays exclusively said that.
>>
>>2732954

Australian normies are brainwashed by mainstream media. Most of them don't even realize how libtarded they are.
>>
>>2732957
>normies are brainwashed by mainstream media.
Sounds just like America
>>
>>2723559
Are dingos a threat?
>>
>>2728259
saaar your men are weaker and shorter than polish women
>>
>>2728259

You'll get to meet one of your extended family members here at every petrol station and pharmacy.
