>travel to Japan>have fun enjoying temples and shit during the day >in the evening want to go to a nice bar to enjoy drinks and meet people>turns out there are three options:>(1) izakayas where everyone comes in groups and nobody wants to talk to you,>(2) izakayas full of old men who will chat to you but are weird as fuck,>(3) foreigner bars full of loud Americans on their first trip abroad making a fucking mess.Where the fuck do I go to drink and chat with fun people?
>>2724685Bronze Age Pervert talks about this
It's impossible Americans ruined Japan even 100 years later
There's another option:Kyabakura: You buy a bottle and girls pour it for you. The girls will hang out with you and treat you like loyalty. Expensive but it's like the ultimate customer service. If you got game and become a frequent customer and build a rapport with one of the girls, there's a chance of sex. Probably not fun if you don't speak Japanese.
>go out for a few beers>vast majority of places expect you to either be with someone else or to buy a mealWeird country
>>2724685>secret option unlock if hot (4) Japanese milfs immediately flirt with you then say "love hotel?" within 15 minutes
>>2724685Just go to a Cat Girl bar like a normal person. It isn't that difficult.
>>2724687I don't listen to what jews say
>>2724748About bars in Japan?!
>>2724685modern hole-in-the-wall type bars will have a younger clientele and the people are usually open to a chat. they may not be easy to find by searching sometimes, just need to stumble upon them I guess. nobody speaks English though, as everywhere in Japan
>>2725007came here to post this. go to the little bars that only seat 5 or 10 people. you can get a nice drink for ¥500 and the bartender will chat with you as long as you want. if you don't know any japanese just stick to the tourist areas and they'll speak some english.the thing about tokyo is that there are literally tens of thousands of bars. you have to do a little exploring to find the places that suit your taste. if you just walk down the main street in shibuya and stumble in to the first place that has a tout outside you're going to have a shitty time, of course. gitgud
>>2724685The fuck is wrong with old japanese men and americans? You think you're better than them?
>>2725012Alot of people are scared of old japanese men and American boomer chads they are just oozing testosterone he was probably raised by a single mom
>>2724685since you went to Japan to look at temples and not go to cat maid cafes and love hotels, I assume you are a pretentious faggot. You should probably just use grindr. Seriously, why do you losers even go to Japan if not to enjoy the decadent maid cafes?
>>2725107yep imagine going to Japan and doing anything besides visiting maid cafes and being treated like a king
>>2724685>go out for supper at 10pm by myself>lots of places are closed, but I want okonomiyaki>walk out past the tourist strip in Osaka>start talking to a group of guys around my age>they ask me if I have any tattoos, then invite me to an onsen after closing up their restaurant>umm... you guys go there often?>apparently they go a few times a week>get taught Japanese onsen etiquette first hand from guys>don't want to shower again once I return to my hotel so I wash my butt>"haha butt-o haha butt-o">shrug cus ass washing is necessary>After getting dressed, I see lots of locals drinking some type of brown milk>they give me coins to buy someThey were so hospitable! And I can't imagine going alone as a foreigner. A private onsen, sure, but this place seems only for Japanese.
>>2724685>>have fun enjoying temples and shit during the dayYeah, you can go ahead and skip that shit. Just sleep during the day to prepare for the night.> izakayas where everyone comes in groups and nobody wants to talk to you,Large places tend to be like that, yeah. Organize a group ahead of time, either from a hostel bar or social media> izakayas full of old men who will chat to you but are weird as fuck,What's wrong with that? drunk old men in Japan are hilarious.> foreigner bars full of loud Americans on their first trip abroad making a fucking mess.Yeah, those suck. Avoid any place blasting loud music. The smaller, quieter bars can be a good place to relax and chill with people though (mostly English teachers or people who got married here 30 years ago)I've had the best experiences at smaller places just outside the main tourist zones. Where there's enough foreigners that it's normal to be there and lots of people speak English, but it's not completely dominated by tourists. Also, these days, there's lots of Korean and Chinese tourists who can help with the language barrier. But like the other people said, the best experience is really just going to girls bars or Kyabakura if you can afford it. you can spend all night getting wasted with the most beautiful women who pretend to like you (and are often good enough actors to make you feel it).
>>2725107>>2725139I went to one that was kid themed, was fucking weird and awkward. Would not go again. Then I went to a ninja themed one where we smashed cheap beers and one of the ninja maids broke a brick due to us purchasing the brick break pass and hurt herself. 11/10 experience
>>2725026u probably got raped by your dad
>>2725171>the best experience is really just going to girls bars or Kyabakura if you can afford it. you can spend all night getting wasted with the most beautiful women who pretend to like you (and are often good enough actors to make you feel it).are all people who go to japan this pathetically sad?
>>2724685One time, while I was traveling alone across Japan on holiday, I stumbled into a small izakaya in Hakone. The bar only had seats for 8 people. As soon as I entered everyone turned to look at me: 3 young Japanese women, a young Japanese lady with her older Japanese boyfriend, an old Japanese guy, and the skeptical bartender. I sat down next to the old Japanese guy and ordered my drink, and everyone went back to their business. Eventually, I put my elementary Japanese skills to work and tried talking to the old man. I learned he was a local who came to that bar every night. The 3 women, upon hearing I could speak a bit of Japanese, immediately started asking me questions, and I told them my story. I learned they were from Tokyo and having a girls' weekend. I also learned that the 4th young lady was a university student, and she was traveling with her boyfriend. They were very curious about my travels. As we chatted they kept ordering me drinks, and eventually the boyfriend, I guess in an attempt to impress his girlfriend, announced that the tab was on him. The Tokyo ladies then said they were going to a karaoke bar and insisted I come with them. I obliged, and what followed was probably one of the best nights of my life. The drinks didn't stop pouring, and I didn't pay a cent. They would ask me to sing Queen and Bon Jovi, and in return I'd ask them to sing anime themes from shows like One Piece and Evangelion. Those girls squealed when I made my requests. They knew every word.I didn't take any of those girls back to my hotel. I was engaged, and I didn't want to be a cheater. I also bashed my knee pretty badly after leaving the karaoke bar, and I woke up with a horrible hangover. But that night is still one of my most cherished memories. We still all follow each other on IG, and they congratulated me on my wedding. Thanks for reading my blog. OP made me nostalgic.

>>2724750at least he's consistent.
>>2725171What's the benefit of girls bars or kyabakura over maid cafes or concept cafes? They pretend to like you more romantically? I just go to the cheapest place I can find.
>>2726450maid cafes are a cringeshow for actual unironic autists.girls bars they just chat and drink with you. typically you get an unlimited drinks deal and then you buy extra drinks for the girl only.kyabakura is more hardcore make it rain dolla dolla bills y'all spending money on champagne pyramids
>>2726518Yes, I know those types of tourist trap maid cafes suck. There are also concept cafes that serve unlimited alcohol for cheaper and you aren't required to buy drinks, such as the succubus cafe. It's usually only like 3000 yen an hour at these places, so why would you go to a girls bar or hostess club and pay way more?
>>2724685I met some good people in random small bars in Japan but it's just a numbers game. 90% of the time you won't really have an amazingly fun time, but once every blue moon you'll run into a fun group of young Japanese people pre-drinking who will take you on an adventure somewhere.
>>2724685>travel to japan>go to tokyo>have the exact same problem>go to osaka >its late>go to bar not expecting much>find a few people and couples just chilling, talking to the barman and paying rounds>we chill all nightTokyo is the place you go to if you want to party with foreign randos. If you want to make friends, the Kansai region is miles better, especially Osaka.
>>2727137you get the same experience if you get out of the middle of the tourist areas in tokyo....
Japan fucking sucks LMAO, the country is a tourist scam. Dunno why people pay to go to a place that is hostile to all foreigners. Soulless insect hellhole.
>>2726518When I went half a year before COVID started I randomly found an amazing maid cafe. It had a French inspired theme, girls dressed modestly, they served mostly black tea that the girl would brew for you, cakes and fluffy omurice the girl would prepare in front of you while you were talking. Alcohol was completely optional, never even mentioned girl drinks, and the tea and food were actually decent. The prices were understandably high, they had a sitting charge per hour and you could buy a photo with the girl and some extras I don't remember but they didn't push it very hard. I would spend maybe $20-$40 each time. Girls were extremely friendly and very happy to talk to me with my shitty Japanese that at the time was 3 months of taking actual lessons and 7 years of watching anime, except one that was so shy she couldn't even hold eye contact or open her mouth. The place was also empty as fuck most of the time. Sometimes I was the only customer there with 2-3 girls. Which was nice but that's also why they shut down two months later even before COVID would have killed them. Not sure if there are more places like that or how to find them. I would gladly repeat this.
>>2727218HoneyHoney is like this, probably a bunch of other places too. HoneyHoney is quite popular though at least when I went.

>>2727279While it's true that americans are loved worldwide it's not true that japanese men are dislike except by ching chongs and Koreans and even most of them don't care
>>2724685Do you people go to random bars in your home town/city and just expect to meet people and talk with strangers? If so, then just do what you already do.If not, then why would you expect to do this in japan?I don't really understand this mindset. Do you just go up to strangers in your local bar (that you went to completely alone) and strike up conversations with other people that came with their friends and have a friend group? Or do you strike up conversations with other solo people in your home bar?
>>2727283>Do you just go up to strangers in your local bar (that you went to completely alone) and strike up conversations with other people that came with their friends and have a friend group? Or do you strike up conversations with other solo people in your home bar?Lmao why is this hard for you to understand. This is normal behavior for anyone over 40Inb4 you are some 20 yearold retard who didn't socialize because you were afraid of catching covid which killed 0 people under age 30
>>2727245I'll check it out next time I'm in Japan, but this looks a lot bigger and more professional. That was one of those tiny buildings where you take the elevator directly to the store wondering how did it ever pass fire safety, and there's only enough room for the counter and two tables.>>2727246It's in Akihabara. It's obviously going to appeal to autists.
>>2727283>I don't really understand this mindset. Do you just go up to strangers in your local bar (that you went to completely alone) and strike up conversations with other people that came with their friends and have a friend group?I mean, yeah, I had plenty of random conversations with people in bars and made friends or hooked up that way. I live in Europe and experienced the same in several European countries.Japanese people are ridiculously autistic when it comes to talking to strangers so it is much harder to do this and it heavily depends on the setting. Usually only older Japanese people (40+) will initiate random conversations in my experience.
i was in a bar in takamatsu and i asked this middle aged guy for restaurant recommendations, he couldn't find it in google maps and he said it was far away so he invited me to go with his family the day after, it was an amazing yakinuku restaurantim not a social person at all but in japan the small bars being a foreigner makes it much more natural to talk to people
I speak fluent Japanese due to autistic self-study for 7 years but have never been. Going alone soon and hoping that knowing the language will be enough of a gimmick ice breaker. I've spoken to hundreds of Japanese people over the years online and convos have always been super easy but idk how it'll be in person. I have some friends I'll meet up with but they can't hang out every day and I also want to have sex if possible.
>>2728256>I also want to have sex if possible.Lmao, thirsty dudes get nothing
>>2728262Yeah if it doesn't happen that's alright too, not expecting much but it would be nice
i remember a story a friend said when he went to a japanese bar and ate with japanese friends. There was a couple there and the wife starting jerking my friend off under the table. As hot as that sounds its kinda awkward
>>2725265Ok I need to know about the ninja bar because that sounds amazing.>>2726528There's something funny about a succubus themed bar that doesn't require you to buy drinks. Is it any good?Last trip I did I went to the muscle girl bar which was a pretty good time, and a small hobby bar for model kit enthusiasts which was peak comfy.
>>2726528>There are also concept cafes that serve unlimited alcohol for cheaper and you aren't required to buy drinks, such as the succubus cafe. You're never "required" to buy drinks for the girls, it's just a thing that everyone does because it's standard practice. If you're too autistic to pick up on social norms then at least look it up in advance so you don't ruin the perception of all foreigners in bars like that
>>2728263Just pay for it like a normal human bean
>>2724727yeah see, i was flirting with a 40 year old who looked 25, but she wasnt having it and left with her friends a little after. I got a couple lines that night though. I know thats just a formality, just being polite and all, but what if i hit them up when i come back? Likelihood of them replying? Also holy FUCK i need a mature japanese woman to hold hands with.
>>2724685I had a decent time at bars that arent really behind a wall, like theyre just open to the street. At least for me because id be able to walk by and look in before walking in. I didnt realize it but the Osake no Bijutsukan are a massive chain, gotten pretty lucky with talking to the bar tender and other people. Also this place in shinjuku, Bar Acqua 24, right next to kabukicho tower.
Go to Soapland.
>>2729185>drinking>soaplandfor drinking go to kyabakura or girls bar, not fucking soapland
>>2724685> foreigner bars full of loud Americans on their first trip abroad making a fucking messThis is me kek. Japan is a rightful American colony and I will do as I please there. Keep seething in the corner and asking strangers online how to make friends though kek
>>2725265>kid themedHaha, what do you mean? Also, where? You know, so I can avoid it.
>>2724685what do you mean enjoying temples
>>2728498never bother talking all evening to a girl thinking you'll get laid. I've seen many dudes make this mistake and waste hours talking to a girl for them just to run off later.
>>2728498>Also holy FUCK i need a mature japanese woman to hold hands with.like this?
>>2728498I know it seems counter-intuitive, but the secret is to
just not try.A roastie at the hostel I was staying at hooked me up with this Japanese mommy and we drove around Okinawa together. I gave her a bunch of lubby dubby compliments like she was a cool mom, and how I liked her style, etc. She loved it. We both played our favorite music, and I put on some teen angst love indie pop, and she play some old love songs <3After we departed (she had to go back to the main island to see her husbandu), we messaged a bit and swapped photos of our trip. I told her how romantic our day was, and she was surprised and laughed a little, that coy, mature cutie.
Godspeed, anon! It's truly remarkable to experience
>>2731428Hanging out with late-20s/30yos is a waste of time. They don't have the mature Japanese mommy spirit to appreciate the simple things in life, and they have terrible diets (!)

>>2725149>And I can't imagine going alone as a foreigner. A private onsen, sure, but this place seems only for Japanese. They don't give a fuck, the whole onsen thing revolves around ignoring everyone else being naked in the first place, in a way it's the most foreign friendly place in Japan as long as you hold yourself to the 2-3 basic rules they have

>>2731428>>2725412>izakayaI wish I wasn't a weird piece of shit I had a random date with an old woman and I was at a musical and someone got shot and I said wow it sure is freakin scary seeing someone get shot even if I know its not real. It was so cringe and she barely wanted to talk to me. The musical was Sister Act BTW if you remember when the bad guy shot some dude I dunno anyway. I thought it was an interesting observation for some reason.Anyway why I said this is that I know if I tried this none of this amazing stuff would ever happen for me which is why I just travel by myself and have fun anyway. If you guys just feel weird talking to people than don't its all right.
>>2731785>I had a random date with an old womandid she cancel after you said that sissy shit?
>>2724685Americans are loud you say. Have you yourself spent a year traveling in silence, to better learn how to hear. To know that actions, truly, are louder than words.
>>2724685>>(2) izakayas full of old men who will chat to you but are weird as fuck,Nothing wrong with that though. Getting drunk with Japanese salarymen is fun.
>>2724685get a wife.
>>2734107honestly? THIS.get a wife or a serious gf, you can explore new places while always having a companion. Japan is grea tbut its really tough to make any kind of connection as Japs just mind their own business at all times.
Getting an old Japanese woman to hang out with you has got to be the easiest shit in the whole wide world. I’ve had some take the Shinkansen from Hiroshima to Tokyo to spend the day with me. One said she would rearrange her house for me to live with her kek. They’re crazy as FUCK and disgusting please take it from me. I got some nice gifts from them though. If you have a wingman (I’m certain you don’t) head to some cheap izakayas and talk to them in pairs. If you can at least manage broken Japanese you’re good. Also if you’re SKINNY and have decent style it helps. Fatasses need not apply at all.
You guys are brave. Are you not afraid of meeting these strangers? And if you do have sex with these Japanese strangers, are you not afraid of catching a bug? Or being perceived as a sex pest?
>>2734195I thought it would be weird but after I moved to Japan I was lonely asf so just started scheduling dates for as many days as I could and ended up having a lot of fun and saw a lot of Japan I wouldn’t have been able to alone. Meeting people from all walks of life is interesting to me. Sometimes I scheduled multiple dates each day. Lunch and dinner lol. And Japanese women in general have been overall very ladylike and I have always been treated very nicely. For sex if you don’t have sex with them someone else will what can I say
>>2734202Well sounds like you lived in Japan which is different. Being there longer, it's only natural to socialize. I'm just saying for short term tourists, it seems odd to just date/fuck for the novelty. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get some tail, but I guess I'm too paranoid. I was surprised how social girls were in Japan, I was expecting to be ignored/feared as a foreign guy. But they were chatty with me. I wish I could overcome my fear of girls.
>>2724685Japan is old as fuck in general. Average age in Tokyo feels around 47 years old. The romanticized things from your animes were based on the 80's or even older traditions. It's been dead a long time. t. have lived in Japan on and off for the past 20 years.
I like Japan but it can be boring if you don't care about shrines .

My mother will leave after two weeks and ill be on my own for another 10 days. She even lives in shinjuku, so i might try to meet with her again or maybe even imply i would like to stay with her. Would save me money on hotels and getting to stay with a cute Japanese mommy. I dont think shes married and i know she doesnt have kids or id definitely be on her daughter. >>2735089>or maybe even imply i would like to stay with herdon't do that until you've made out with her. You'll look like a total faggot and your mom might never get paid
