What's Germany like for tourists?
>>2724790The nice parts of Germany are all in Poland nowBerlin is only not shit on for being awful because it's not as awful as London, Paris, DC, etc. but it's still a shitholeBavaria is a horrific tourist trap full of assholesYour best bets are the two northern coasts but even then why go to Rapeburg instead of Rapeholm or Rapenhagen instead?
>>2724790I’ve never been to Germany but I been reading it’s history. It seems there are huge differences between southern Germany and north Germany in terms of culture, food, identity and language/dialect. There are also many differences between the FDR and the DDR as you would expect, even today. Supposedly in places like Bavaria will be friendlier to strangers and enjoy a jois de vivre.

Germany is bit of a shithole. Very ugly cities outside of specific areas. Nature is nice. If you're into partying and are somewhat outgoing Berlin is great, but average guy here is a terminal sperg so it's a no go. It has some cool stuff but I never felt compelled to travel there much when I can go to France, Italy and Spain usually for the same or cheaper. Plus they don't have very good food. Good bread, few dishes and beer if you like alcohol. Great if you're into nature, hiking and climbing, although you can get that in the countries I listed before.
>>2724813What about things of historical interest? Regensburg Reichtag? No man’s land border museums on the boarders of east and west Germany. Visiting imperial or hanseatic cities? There must be a lot of old royal buildings to visit as well?
>>2724820Just like London a lot of German cities enjoy knocking down their historic buildings to build ugly modern brutalist shit in their placeAnd every museum related to the wars will be full of moralizing shit plaques and stuff showing off how guilt-proud they are.
>>2724790Generally very easy to get around, although the train service isn’t always reliable; not very expensive; disinterested in customer service; a lot of castles; very widespread moderate English proficiency, sometimes better, but a long way from the “everyone is fluent” myth; the food is only good if you like German food (I don’t, many seem to).
>>2724790I went to Munich a few years ago and had a wonderful time, lots of cool stuff to do. We rented a car, toured the countryside going to places like Neuschwanstein Castle, Rothenburg, Salzburg in Austria, and did all the stuff in the city. Would recommend to anyone.
>>2724790Safe and clean. Go to Quakenbruck.
It has loads to see and do. What are you interested in?
>>2724790It’s an amazing country and full of delicious local cuisine and beautiful architecture. Friendliest people in the world. There is a lot of slander on the net about the country >>2724793 >>2724813 >>2724821, likely these are not white people. The only problem germany had when I went was blocking me from entry. Still don’t know why to this day. They said that you’re only allowed in to do or see tourist shit, like oktoberfest, or else you can get deported. I’m from iceland which seemed odd to me that they’d do this.
>>2724790Extremely boring I assume. t. GermanUnless of course you like brown people and non-functioning infrastructure
bumpim ging to berlin and want info
refer to the map
>>2725580I went to Straslund from Berlin, it was a retirement community.
>>2725580>all that shit above WeisswurstaequatorNorthern Germany is a giant dump. There's a couple quaint streets in former Hanseatic towns and a couple of mid palaces in the East. Everything else is just depressing nondescript Hartz-IV-land. Baden/Bavaria/Rhineland is where it's at.
>>2724793What about lower saxony area?
>>2725580What's gottingen like?I've got a chance to study there.
