Hey bros,Me and my gf are flying to Queenstown to hike the Routeburn, but have a few days to spare after we finish. Any ideas for what we should do?
Bundle up, it's freezing right now. Leave a glass of water or a wet shirt outside, watch it freeze, post YouTube videos of it
>>2725620rent a car and go to Moke LakeYou can take the bus and explore Arrowtown
Skip it and drive down to Gore. Queenstown is overrated.
>>2725620bump. I'm considering a full camper trip starting form queenstown (end point in auckland) in december. yea, I know I'm doinig it in reverse. Any local and in-depth tips bros?

>>2731726Not that original guy, but going up the west coast is a decent drive, decent scenery. Everyone on that side of the island is a bit weird, all friendly though. Like check out Greymouth, nice bit of a shit hole. Can be a bit wet as the weather gets stuck in the alps a bitGoing up the east coast is a more popular drive I guess, super pretty basically all the way from Christchurch to nelson. If you're going that side check out Takaka for some hippies. Should be nice weather for you in December.South island will be more memorable than much of the north, so if you're into that sort of thing (scenery) take your timeWanaka and arrowtown are real nice too, same with lake tekapo
>>2731876Thank you, I was considering going throughout West coast route.
If you want to do another hike, the Abel Tasman trek is easier and only takes a few days. Or splash out on something epic like a helicopter tour of Fox Glacier, or a rafting trip. East coast would be worth a visit if you just want to kick back and eat hokey pokey ice cream and see how average kiwis live.>>2731876There's plenty of wilderness in the north island that people don't talk about. You don't get the alpine ranges, but there are endless forests and epic coastlines. Sure if you can only choose one island it's gotta be the south, but most of my best memories of /out/ing are in the north.>>2728919Bruh, don't tell people to skip the Routeburn.
