what's it like? I've only traveled in countries where I don't actually speak the language (Italy, Austria, Greece) so theres a langauge barrier that kinda closes you off from a LOT. What's it like to travel to a country where you speak the langauge? I imagine a slight accent difference makes it so you aren't even noticed in the UK.
>>2725621It's the opposite, Americans complain that as soon as bongs hear their accent they start verbally assaulting them with "banter".If Blumpf wins this election, bongs won't let you hear the end of it.Tbh it's somewhat justified, burger tourists dont know how to behave and think harassing the Buckingham Palace guards is funny.
>>2725621I visited the norf of England (Manchester, Blackpool, Lake District) last year and everyone was pretty friendly. Pretty much every time someone noticed I was American they'd ask me about Florida though, which was funny. People will notice your accent and know you're a foreigner easily but I never felt like I was treated worse because I was American. Out of the (admittedly few) European countries I've been to the UK is the most hospitable.
You kind of get treated like a celebrity in the UK, kek I had one lad want to get gay married to me so he could move to Florida
>>2725621When you visit Ireland tell everyone “póg mí thoin” (pouge me hone) it’s acommon greeting and will get you some nice convos with the locals
>>2725638Nooooo you must not harass the very important guards, they are extremely important they are DEFINITELY NOT a tourist attraction!!!
>>2725621We don't want yanks here
>>2725638>If Blumpf wins this election, bongs won't let you hear the end of it.Slightly different but I recall being on a bus in Vietnam with some drunk brits giving me (Australian) shit for our poor climate change policies.
>>2727557It's pretty amazing yuros fall for all the propaganda all the free thinking ones moved to America
People here really don't care. Just don't be obnoxious, loud and annoying and it'll be fine.
>>2725621Where will you be going Touristy areas get a lot of Americans and no one will care about you, as long as you aren’t unusually loud and obnoxious. The occasional American proclaiming he’s visiting his 1/128th homeland is irritating as hell, don’t do that. Plus we don’t accept USD here, bring sterling
>>2727566Our media comes in varying flavours of leftist. That’s the extent of choice that we get. Most people simply aren’t exposed to any alternative viewpoint.
the last time I went to England was in 2019. I was taking the metro from the airport into London. First conversation I overheard was with two Brits seething about trump for approximately 20 mins straight
