>Cartagena
Tourist trap. Bogotá and Medellín are worth checking out though
>>

Yep, fuck Cartagena. Ripoffs on every hand, plus trashy insolent Caribbean hustlers with generous negro admixture. Bogota is a big rough city, but it has much better-quality people than either Cartagena or Medellin. I walked all over Bogota and never got hassled by anyone. Annoying how the Bogota hiking trails like Quebrada La Vieja have such limited open hours, I really wanted to check out the mountains.

I enjoyed Bogota because it had more grunge culture

>literally every food in the store is covered with these "excess" warnings
I'm buying some light mozzarella, Paco, not a fucking pack of cigarettes. as flawed as it is, I miss the EU food labeling

going to Bogota in a few weeks, coincidentally will check out the music festival in Bolivar park, looking at a hostel or airbnb maybe in the Chapinero neighborhood. Suggestions for where to see, where to eat, where has the grunge culture?

do you mean Rock al Parque? there are many public music festivals in Bogotá.

don't know what he means by "grunge" exactly but being the largest city in the country , it's the one with the most subcultures, people speaking English, universities etc.

Yes, Rock al Parque. I haven't heard of any the bands but I'd like to check it out regardless while I'm in Bogotá that Sat-Mon.
