Leaf / Slav here moving to Czechia soon for tech job. What am I in for? It's in Prague. I just couldn't stand Canadistan anymore.
>>2726534So you chose CZ instead of HR. What was the deciding factor?>Praguevisited once for a very short time. Beautiful city, rich history but huge tourist crowds.
>>2726534You'll hate it, a code monkey like you is incapable of appreciating a city like Prague with its rich historical, cultural and artistic heritage. And despite its reputation don't think cooming will be easy there, Czech women actually value intelligence in a man, they won't be impressed with long discussions about crypto or Blockchain.
Be sure and have the pig knuckle.
>>2726631>You'll hate it, a code monkey like you is incapable of appreciating a city like PragueSounds like you’re just seething because he works in tech and you don’t. Not every codemonkey or software engineer focuses their entire life on their job, a remote job provides a lot of income that enables enjoyment of other things in life
I could probably live in Prague for 2 years. The beer is god tier. It's extremely cheap to go out. There are some great restaurants and a good variety of food with all the tourists. The women are hot and promiscuous. Old town is gorgeous. The public transport is great. You'd also be central on the continent, so you'd be able to explore a lot of Europe. Rent is extremely cheap compared to Canada. You'll likely be able to afford a really nice place. And flights are cheap if you want to take a quick holiday. About half the people you meet are going to speak some English. The trains are pretty great for getting to the nearby cities. The negatives are going to be the weather (although it'll probably be an upgrade from Canada), the excessive amount of tourists, you're far from the beaches in the south, the language is incomprehensible. It might be hard to get plugged into social circles unless you're willing to make a real effort. I'd try to land a girlfriend early on. The people are also a little glum. They aren't as bad as the French or the Germans, but it's not super friendly either.
>>2726631>Czech women actually value intelligence in a man, they won't be impressed with long discussions about crypto or BlockchainThat's funny, because pretty much all incels I've seen are code monkeys who constantly whine that women don't appreciate their intelligence and go for good looking but dumb guys instead.
>>2726623Croatian one full of fags, they rejected me because they thought I will not like Zagreb even though I have family there and visit every year.
>>2726631Who the fuck said I am going for women, just want to get away from pajeets and be a slav in a slavic country.
>>2726658How tough is it for a Croatian speaker to get used to? About a year? And yeah I was thinking of just befriending work colleagues first and expand my social circle that way.
>>2726678Was it the company I told you about? And what made them think you wouldn't like Zagreb? Regardless, seems like a dumb reason to reject someone.
>>2726682No, ReversingLabs. No joke, I was their top candidate with their algo tests they made me do. I am not kidding that is their reason for rejecting me. Maybe it's diaspora resentment.
>>2726683I've never heard of diaspora resentment in Croatia. Did you give Infinum a glance? They seem to have positions open.
>>2726684Me neither, but retards on this site keep claiming it exists, I have never experienced it, I speak it fluently. Infinum looks great but their tech stack doesn't suite me. They use Ruby on Rails which is a dying language. If they have something better I will definitely apply. But yeah, they claimed it's a financial risk if I move there and don't like it because of tHe dRaStIc lIfEsTyLe cHaNgE I might get depressed and quit. I told them how shit toronto is to convince them but they are clearly fucking retarded beyond belief.
>>2726684Do you work in tech?
>>2726688Not by a long shot.>>2726686Yeah, I head they're a good company first hand. In terms of moving here in general I can't really give you advice. I've moved to another cunt for education and my social life is non existent. Then again it might just be due to my nature since things back home weren't much better. You might have a different experience since you know the language and have family here. But word to the wise, make sure you aren't overestimating your language proficiency before moving anywhere.
>>2726691kindly noted and for sure, but from my experience whenever I visit, I never had issues with people understanding me or communicating. But yeah they are fucking retarded. I was really hyped to start working there.
>>2726692Give infinum a call. Don't know about the software but they might be able to accommodate you.
>>2726686Retarded slavs think Canada is a paradise. I might be able to get away with a passport swap. I will move to Eastern Europe and they get to move to Surrey.
>>2726534>Leaf / SlavSo your name is SlavJeet? Welcome to Czechia, Saar!
>>2726631t. low-tier local man who doesn't want competition
>>2726534if you're a slav like you say, you'll have an easy time integrating. which slavic language is your native?
>>2726700Moved to Canada as a kid dumbass
>>2726739Croatian, I hooe it's not too different from Czech
>>2726706Lol it's exactly my breaking point with Canada. So fucking many of them here.
>>2726726LMFAO!
>>2726631>Prague with its rich historical, cultural and artistic heritage.you mean German? pepiks have no culture
Czech here. Just act normal and everything will be fine. And avoid Gypsies and other dark-skinned peoples.
>>2727968Thanks, yeah of course, it's human nature to avoid melanin like a spider sense. Is there at least some expat communitues in Prague to ease into my move? Also, do Czechs hate Croats? I'd assume they hate us less than some poo skin moving in.
>>2727972>Is there at least some expat communitues in Prague to ease into my move?I dunno, probably. >Also, do Czechs hate Croats? No, why? Croatia is one of the most popular holiday destinations for us. I mean, I went once with my family and even though I hate beaches and sea, your country itself was pretty nice.
>>2727986Ok that's good to know, wanted to make friends over there and was wondering if locals would automatically hate me.
