I certainly have never ever nor will ever hop a fence to take a picture of a Canadian flag and hopped back while no one was looking. I definitely never did that not do I plan to in the future.

Not on purpose. Possibly one or two small incursions when hiking. And I cross borders within Europe without having my passport on me fairly regularly, but this is only necessary on paper, as they’re not strictly controlled borders. I have a residence permit in my wallet that doesn’t officially count as national ID, but people asking for papers usually settle for it.

I have been taken into two countries I did not have visas to enter, most recently Vietnam, when a Vietnam Airlines connecting flight I was on out of Hanoi had to turn around and make an emergency landing. I had to give my passport to an immigration officer who locked it in her desk, as my fellow passengers and I were walked backwards through security and stuck in taxis to a hotel for the night. Weird experience. I did something similar in China a few years before that when a flight was canceled, but they let me keep my passport on my person that time, and the hotel was attached to the airport, so I barely even went outside.

Fiesta Protesta on the Mexican border. People from both sides of the border mingled and had a great day, crossing back and forth or standing in the river as they pleased. Sheriffs didn't do anything.
