Why does this board hate Digital Nomads, i know that shit has alot of posers, but there legit small amount of people making $100k+ working remote in Asia/MENA/LA
>>
>>2732082
I'm a digital nomad but I only make 40,000 USD a year. It's more than enough. I think a lot of people are exaggerating their wages.
>>
>>2732082
>Why does this board hate digital dorkuses?
Because that’s more or less 5-6k take home. That means you can rent a nice condo and coom every single day if you wanted and probably have plenty leftover.
You can have sex every single day and chill by the beach.

Meanwhile, the best thing I have to look forward to in America is sitting on a bench and smoking a cigarette at a park or ordering a large pizza for myself (and walking it back to my apartment) and a few fat tires on the weekend and jerking off into a tissue. That’s literally it. There’s no respite or release from America. It’s an open air prison
>>
>>2732101
same, but it's not enough. also I'm miserable. better than getting divorce raped though. I checked out years ago
>>2732104
you should move to cambodia

Wtf are you spending your pay cheque on that it's not enough? It's more than enough for me.
>>
>>2732082
Yeah like 3 total, one has a actual job the other two shill
>le digital nomad
shit on youtube and sell some self help books to retards dreaming about that. Anyone else is a bum whoring his ass out writing articles like "15 TikTok dances you can do now to support madame president" on mturk for $1.
>>
>>2732228
But you’ll seethe at the real ones, they’re out there and they keep quiet.
>>
>>2732231
I don't care about where you waste your invalidity pension.
Have fun.

The "ruin it for everyone else" argument. When a few people introduce a big pile of currency into a local economy, it makes prices rise for existing goods and services, particularly when everything is remodeled and rebranded to suit the tastes of the affluent customers.

Also, a general perception of online workers as being sheltered, unmasculine, left-leaning pansies worthy of contempt. They are constantly being ripped off, but don't care as they come by money so easily. When locals see how they could painlessly double or triple their profit margins by a little dishonesty, it really takes away their incentive to charge foreigners a fair price.
>>
>>2732344
doesn't make sense, digital nomads spend way less per day compared to tourists because they are staying longer
for the same reason they are much less likely to be ripped off, they will learn the true price after a while

I don't hate them. I do think it's actually a miserable life though and many of them are smiling through tears. Sure, you might make good money, sure you get to see different places. But having no permanent home means it's harder to make long lasting friends, have a good community, have a family etc. You're essentially alone, working on a laptop then moving to the next hotel while everyone around you lives.
>>
>>2732082
Because they turned the beaches of Southeast Asia into a clone of ripoff sterile tourist traps like Hawaii and the cities into some disgusting hybrid of San Francisco mixed with Singapore. They're mass exporting the Costa Rica Effect worldwide.

Also, even the few who are making good money living this lifestyle are more than likely breaking their company's contracts by working internationally using a vpn, not to mention various tax laws. Remember to report these parasites to their company's management or local tax authorities as appropriate.
>>
>>2732477

have you had much success with that?

I collect $20k monthly from my assets and that's without even trying very hard, and it only took a few years of grinding to get there

>Why does this board hate Digital Nomads
they don't, it's just that we have a couple extremely vocal and active brown schizo posters, and the 'wealthy white expat/digital nomad' is their mortal enemy, because that type of individual hard mogs them and lowers their sense of self worth

I myself am somewhat of a digital nomad, but just work hard for 4 or months then do nothing the rest of the time. I do mean work hard, like 16 hour days on Adderall grinding code or teaching, multiple jobs and totally overemployed, sometimes running two jobs at once remotely on different devices.

Typically I try to collect 60k or so, stash 20k of it in investments/crypto, gamble 10k of it, and then live off 30k (more than enuff)
>>
>>2732506
Lol any idiot in Thailand ignoring the new tax laws in 2024 and 2025 is about to get got. The tears next year are going to be glorious.
>>
>>2732779
I'm more of an analog nomad since i don't have to work anymore. Retiring at 35 was sweet. Save your money kids you really don't want to be waging at age 40

To be fair were giga lucky were the peasants at the top of the world pyramid. The peasants overseas live even worse and the guy who lives your lifestyle overseas is considered rich.

Imagine the seething that someone just born in another country could just hop to yours and bang all the local hot chicks by virtue of a passport and speaking English. Chances are they have a huge financial and height advantage too.
>>
>>2732477
>Remember to report these parasites to their company's management or local tax authorities as appropriate.

lmfao you are a seething faggot
>>
>>2732797
So much this.

I am 43 and have over $300 million in investments thanks to banking on numerous crypto rugpulls that cost me Pennie’s to promote here on 4chan and Reddit. I’ve cashed out of the crypto scams and invested in actual legit assets with excellent legal tax evasion.
>>
I just wish more of them weren’t so smug on this board and the site as a whole and would actually talk about what they do and how they got such a position. Hearing “I browse 4chan and jack off during work and don’t actually do my job but get 6 figures” over and over again makes it hard to know who’s actually a DN. It’s also primarily a millennial thing. Zoomers have next to no chance getting the same established careers considering the job market

>Why does this board hate Digital Nomads
Most people are just tired of wanna be DN's or LARPers' shitting up what DN is. I've been doing it for better part of a decade now and holy shit most here and abroad are insufferable.

It's really tiresome to explain you're a DN only for people to go "HEY BRO HOW DO I DO DN BRUH I DON'T KNOW IT BUT KEK I CAN LEARN IS JAVA GUD? I GOT A GOOD GAME IDEA? CAN UR COMPANY HIRE ME I HAVE 0 EXP? WTF WHY DO I NEED EXP!?!??!" Most people WANT the "fuck girls each day then sip drinks on the beach 365 days a year", but not realizing most DN is just doing what you would WFH in <place> with the benefits of local customs and having much higher income.

I keep my mouth shut because I can not stand most other Digital Nomads abroad as they fall into one of the following:
1) First time WFH retard working abroad who doesn't realize he is slowly losing his sanity and spending excess cash trying to cope with odd work hours and environment
2) Trust fund idiots who are 'vloggers' basically stating they are totally legit DN's who don't know shit about tech
3) The true DN who basically keeps his mouth shut and doesn't bring up anything other than "Oh yeah I work in IT" from time to time

The worst part of DN threads is wagies seething about it shitting up the threads or wanna be DN's who want spoonfeeding.
>>
>>2732477
>Remember to report these parasites to their company's management or local tax authorities as appropriate.
DN is basically impossible to prove and still a huge legal grey area in most countries, on the off chance a cop knew what you were talking about proving it is another thing entirely.

Can you imagine some white dude running up to a cop going "SIR HE IS WORKING REMOTELY DIGITAL NO MAD NO VISA SIRS!!!" only for the cop to not know what the fuck you are saying and even if the cop knew it how would he prove it? Go follow you up to the guy and then he can just say "no not working I don't know who he is he tried to extort money from me just now. He was begging just a few minutes ago anyways". He said she said arguments aren't something any cop is going to deal with.

Enjoy that quagmire.

I'm convinced they don't actually exist.

As a digital nomad the thing I hate most about the digital nomad threads is just the absolute blatant never gone outside a 5 mile readius of home doomer/coomer level posting. It's so fucking annoying to deal with people going "wow the US has fallen it's over I've lived in LA my entire life and now living in Tokyo, I've been here a whole week, and never am going to go back!". Then trying to convey any points across about travel or how the world is results in constant "Let me tell you actually how shit the US is because I lived in %coastal_mega_city_shithole% and paid to have my dick finally sucked for the first time".

I get it America isn't perfect, traveling and living abroad is great but I can no stand listening to some idiot who grew up in Portland realizing their 75k/yr salary goes farther when you move to a lower cost of living area. The sheer retardation anons have regarding basic economic facts because it's easier to meme /pol/ was right! shit gets old fast.
>>
>>2736626
retards have been told a million times the way to DN is either

1- cushy tech job preferably at a remote only or remote option avail. company (that would be me)

or

2- strike out on your own (consulting, web dev/maint, freelance hustling gigs)

And yet every thread is the same. No hustle, no drive, no building up in demand tech skills (don't even need a degree. Every single tech task you can think of has a YT tutorial).

retards be like fuck all that, I'm just gonna cope and seethe on a Somalian fishing board all day
>>
>>2732113
Just be yourself anon
>>
>>2732082
For me, it's just because they're so fucking insufferable. They constantly brag about the lifestyle and make out that anybody who's not a digital nomad is a fucking moron, and fail to acknowledge any of the downsides of digital nomadism (e.g., the fact that it's difficult for them to settle down properly and have a family, and that they'll always be living in their wealthy expat bubble and not really a part of the local community).

I get some of my income remotely and love to travel, so I've been thinking of scaling that up and trying out the work/travel meme for a few years. But if I do that then I sure as shit won't look to be part of a digital nomad community.
>>
>>2736658
I'm just furious because if I knew the true appeal of this lifestyle a decade ago, I would've been all in on trying to get it. Instead I fell for the trade meme, had some huge financial and health setbacks (from work), and now at 30 I have neither the time or energy to do what it takes, and the tech sector is massively oversaturated.
>>
>>2736666
yeah just be yourself anon like anon said
>>
>>2736936
it's never too late. You can get free/low cost certs on coursera and parlay those to a starter job at a small to mid tier tech co, get some experience, then move on to a bigger (remote only) gig.

t. oldfag who started in office, 3 years later hybrid, and now fully remote DN for the past 2 years

>"yeah I am a digital nomad I've been in Japan a 2 out of my 4 week stay before I head home! Just my digital nomad month"
>idiots complaining it's illegal regardless only a handful of countries even addressing DN exists or rules around it

>The west has fallen how do I get azn wifey and become citizen here... What do you mean tell my company?
worst
>people confusing vloggers with digital nomads
No the vloggers on YT who talk who they are DN's are probably making money off YT and Patreon far more than any short term IT work they may or may not be doing, no you working on a wordpress site to host your videos does not make you a sysadmin.

>>2732344
>The "ruin it for everyone else" argument. When a few people introduce a big pile of currency into a local economy, it makes prices rise for existing goods and services, particularly when everything is remodeled and rebranded to suit the tastes of the affluent customers.
So what? If the locals can't do it, they can suck it lmfao.

Not a Digital Nomad, but I make a decent living through rentals in my home cunt. I gave it some thought and decided to live as an itinerant degenerate aristocrat. My dollarydoos go a long way in SEA, CA, and EE, so I don't see why I shouldn't abuse the system while I can and still have the energy to do so. I only come home whenever I need to renew documents and to make sure my safety net is still in place.
I basically just live like a hobo with a fat bank account. I suppose you could say I am a DN (Degenerate Nomad) lmao

we're medium-sized company in a rural region , our department only opened a year ago because we've found that our region really prefers locals answering phones. I'd say this will be a decent gig for the next 5 years before we get too big and shitty. till then, it's ok.

Any advice on how to get a remote job for me? I'm 21. I haven't had a job ever. Ever since high school, I've been on sick leave which pays around 700 euros a month + my rent of 350 euros is paid for. I am very thankful I'm in a country that allows this, but I HATE being on this sick leave.
I just feel so useless and like I don't "deserve" the money I get.

For 2025, I will still be on sick leave (sick retirement actually), but I hope to get back to school (job college) in 2026, study to become a cleaner, whilst I build my own brand.

I have ASD, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, SAD, and depression (although SAD and depression are really old diagnoses, they haven't been removed yet. All of those are doctor diagnosed too)

I really hope I'm able to work later on.
From grades 6-9, I barely went to school. On grade 9 (last grade before job college/normal college) I had FIVE HUNDRED hours of absence. It was awful.

Although, ever since then, I've been home. Ever since I moved to my own place at 18 (rented), I've been living off of goverment financial aid. I'm 21 now. I've gotten much better, and I hope I'll be able to have a remote job AND keep it.
It's literally my mini dream to have a job, one that pays more than 700 euros a month and I really can't wait until my parents die and leave me their apartments and houses.
