I’ll be visiting Panama soon for a frivolous vacation but I don’t know what to wear. How do I larp as a Reagan-era American neocolonist without being too obvious about it? What hats are acceptable? Also what the fuck should I do in Panama
Wear a MAGA hat
>>2732808>Reagan-era American neocolonistYou sound autistic, chances are no one gives a fuck. Go fuck some bitches.
>>2732808I've known several, and Panamanians are pretty conservative as far as Latinos go (as in normal conservative, not Trad_Conquistador1488 style), they'd probably think it's funny as long as you aren't outright racist towards them. My mom's friend is Panamanian and she's said several times that they love Americans because they sent troops to help oust Noriega
>>2732808I was about to answer in earnest, but then then decided you’re too much of a faggot to be worth satisfying
I apologize for the low-effort OP, but can we actually have a /fa/ thread for tropical countries? Starting on the simple premise that one needs a hat and light, functional shirt. I don't need to go as far as pic related, but neither do I want to be wearing a trucker cap and Hawaiian shirt.
>>2732902everyone hates gringos outside of the US
>>2732808When you get there, just ask someone if they sell panama hats.
Wear a linen guayabera and you will be all set. It's fucking hotter and humider there than you can possibly imagine. When I was there, there were tons of high quality whores everywhere, so you can look into. Go to a jungle, see some animals. They have sloths and toucans and shit just wandering around.

>>2733286Kek those look sweet, you really think I could pull it off>>2733274I hope not because i still have an American flag sewn on my backpack after trying to prove a point to a Canadian in Vietnam

>>2732808Panamanians have a weird relationship with America. On the one hand, Panama only exists because of the US, and only has money because of the US, on the other hand there's been a century of local whinging over muh canal zone. Check out the Panama Canal Museum for sure. Generally I found the locals to be very nice, but the city's a dump. If you're visiting on a weekend, you should be able to take a boat tour up the Canal - do that if you can, it's the main unique thing in Panama. In the old town (i.e. the nice bit), get some nice rum cocktails at Pedro Mandinga, eat at Fonda Lo Que Hay (only good meal I had in Panama, but some of the best fish I've ever had), go party on the rooftop bar at Selina (hot local girls and assorted young foreigners).
>>2733274Watch any average white American in South America and tell me he can't pull 10/10 model anywhere he goes.
>>2734073Cool thanks for the tips. I’m currently reading a John LeCarre novel about espionage in Panama and it’s teaching me a lot of history. Super looking forward to cheap tasty alcohol. I’m not trying to look good for girls though; just trying to look good for me. To be cool like Dodgson.
>>2734073>>2734171I've also been to Panama, to visit relatives. My impression and recommendations are the same, basically. There's tons of Venezuelan prosties and cheap alcohol, that is correct, even the imported alcohol like scotch whisky and chilean wine was cheap there. The country doesn't really feel like the US but doesn't really feel like the rest of latin america either. It's a 3rd place for sure. Maybe like Puerto Rico? Similar caribbean culture too, even on the pacific side, that felt very different from mexicans and US chicano hispanics I'm used to.The area around the Costa Rican border was very pretty, and climatically very nice in the highlands, not sure you'll make it there though.
>>2734201>t doesn't really feel like the rest of latin america either.Once you travel enough you realize there isn't a typical "Latin American country". There's this image of a sepia filter Mexico Breaking Bad stereotype, but each country is very different. I have been to Bahia in Northern Brazil and experienced the African influences on the culture. I have been to Peru and had Asian-style foods cooked by Jap descendants. I have been to Patagonia and visited Welsh tea houses, saw glaciers and Scandinavian landscapes. Even in Mexico it's very different to what you'd expect when you see a bustling metropolis like DF. As for Panama I've never stepped foot outside of the airport but it struck me as a small Latin American Singapore. Very interesting region.
