I was walking across the street at 35°44'45.5"N 140°24'11.3"E and I was at a crosswalk and a girl seemed across the street seemed to take a photo of me. When we walked past each other, she seemed to hide her face with an umbrella (it was not even raining). There was literally nothing across the street besides a long highway and airport. I swear she did it just to take a photo of me, although I wasn't paying attention to where she went after that cause I was mainly focused on getting to the 7 eleven. Me and OP may be overthinking and imaging things but idk its hard to tell. Other than that I never noticed anything weird but I'm generally kind of oblivious.

Some of the Japanese country side is different in the non-touristy towns had few photos taken in those kind of places in Japan. There could be other reasons you got your photo taken, maybe you look weird, dress weird, or some combination of both.
