I want to go to vladivostok with my gf but we are only free in January to February. Can any Russian tell me just how much of a bad idea it is to go this time of the year? I fear it may be too extremely cold. I plan to take the boat from Korea.

Not Russian, but I have been to Vladivostok several times, and January probably won’t be that bad. Honestly probably similar to the climate in Korea, at worst. It can certainly get cold, but it’s a coastal climate. A few hundred km inland is guaranteed to be worse. It may not even be below freezing (Vlad usually isn’t).
