I was looking at St Helena it occured to me how there are still some distant relics of the British Empire and idk why but I have a real heartfelt desire to visit St Helena now. But since it is so far and so remote I was wondering what are some good locations which have kept intact the old empire that may be worth visiting?
>>2734138Just load up a British Empire map and look where they were. The bigger the shithole, the more of the old empire has been kept around, as nobody cba to replace it.I know you can see glimpses of British and French imperialism in Cairo, which is interesting, if you know where to look.
>>2734138If you're actually keen on doing a trip to St. Helena, I'd advise tacking it onto a trip to South Africa. Cape Town still has lots of Dutch and Colonial architecture, as do many other cities in SA. Cape Town also has some great, but smaller, museums about the empire.
