Hi, /mu/tant tourist here, first time using this board. I'll soon be traveling to Sofia, Bulgaria with my gf for 4 days and I'm tired of reading about commie tours recommendations on normie travel sites. Obviously we know about the cathedrals and the popular tourist sites, and are planning to visit them (yes I know my gf has to cover her head to get in lol). So has anyone been or is from Sofia and can recommend any cool places, great restaurants and fun activities? As for budget, I'd say we are up to spend a max of 35€ (68 lev) per person on a meal for example. We love music, architecture, art of any form, clubbing, trying weird food and scenic overlooks of places. If you know about record stores, arcades or thematic bars do tell please! But honestly any recs are fine. As for language, I speak russian so I can read stuff but have 0 idea of bulgarian. If any local can tell me how do people react to being asked if they speak russian it would be fine. Cause for example when I went to Warsaw, most of the times polaks would glare at me just for asking if they spoke it. I understand why tho, so was wondering how is that perceived in Sofia.
>>2734440Find the hottest woman, impregnate her, and make her your wife. Bulgarian women are top quality.
>>2734440Bulgaria isn't muslim. As long as she doesn't dress like a slut it shouldn't matter. And some of the Bulgarian galls are pretty fucking out there I can tell you that much. Just wear a T-shirt or a sweater. I was in Sofia 3 years ago. Kind of boring desu. You can see most of the shit you want to see in a single day. There is this one gigantic street where everything happens. Every bar and restaurant is on that street. The ones that aren't are literally dead. Or you need to go to the student district. But that's not easily accessible. Next to the city is a huge mountain which is worth visiting. Gives you an amazing view of the city. We mostly ended up doing day trips outside of the city. On the last day we went on a daytrip to Plovdiv which is the second largest city. That's where it's at. Absolutely amazing city with cool sights to see. The prices are also much higher than in Sofia. Sofia itself is very cheap. With 35€ p.p. you can easily manage in 90% of the restaurants. Or inflation must have hit Sofia really hard in the past 3 years. About restaurant etiquette.. I didn't understand any of it. If you order together they will just bring the plates that are done. One evening I practically finished my main course already and my buddy still didn't have his appetizer. And that's like everywhere. The idea that groups of people like to eat somewhat at the same time is non existent. Makes it easier for the cheffs i guess. But I couldn't get use to it at all. Also another thing that bothered me to no end. If you want to pay it takes them forever to bring you the bill. Oh and you have to ask. After they served you your food. They will straight up not come to your table anymore. I've never witnessed this anywhere else. Bulgarian things i guess.I had a good time on my holidays. Just the city was very underwhelming. Had I known this beforehand I would have located myself in Plovdiv and done a daytrip to Sofia instead of the other way around.
