>Christmas coaster edition

>What is this thread? Why are there two generals?
/rcg/ was initially created as a way for the roller coaster enthusiasts on here to discuss all things roller coasters and theme parks. While roller coasters are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other theme parks, their rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /tpg/ comes in.
>Can I talk about Disney/Universal parks in this thread?
Absolutely! Disney discussion of all sorts including rides/resorts/dining/trip planning is OK.

Thread Tip Pro: Ride every coaster every year, as it may be gone next week.

I might wait until all the construction is done first.

Definitely worth checking out Paris, but like the other guy said you should wait until construction is done, I went two months ago and it was honestly a big detractor seeing a bunch of walls at the end of Main Street USA and basically the entirety of the Studios park. You'll have to wait a year or two but you will have a much more enjoyable experience.
Also if you're planning to go there anyways, don't miss out on Parc Asterix. It's very closeby and honestly gets slept on a lot, it's great.

Disney Village using going to a generic modern outdoor mall look makes me a bit sad. It needed work doing but I wish they'd kept the spirit of the big bright original design.

Being stylish, sleek and modern shouldn't be the focus of a theme park
>>
>>2739629
At least he was polite, I’ve heard others that ran into them say they were both rude, especially Sarah. Apparently one of the nicest tubers is that theme park recommendations Brandon guy (whatever his channel is called at the moment). I saw a bunch of lesser known youtubers while in line for a top thrill 2 preview and they all talked amongst each other and clearly had their heads up their asses like they’re celebrities. One guy spent most of his time taking footage rather than riding and it closed just a week or so after
>>
>>2739782
I think people get the expectation that they will meet the 'on camera' version of youtubers, but the real life versions are much less enthusiastic, and they don't talk to you the same way they do the camera. Some are super excited to meet fans, while others don't really know how to respond.

I've spotted at least 8 different park youtubers since I moved to Orlando 3 months ago. I don't usually stop to talk though, unless I happen to be in line next to them or something

Arguing with people online about the Disney World Tom Sawyer Island/Riverboat being removed and replaced. Unfortunately, too many are delusional. People shit on Tomorrowland Speedway but for all its faults it soaks guests up which is why Disney has no interest in getting rid of it. People will complain about wait times then die on a hill defending a waste of space with no visitors.

I'm of the opinion that while it's not the best solution, having Cars land there is better than leaving the area as it is. My ideal world is basically the fan edit in picrel - make everyone happy - but only if TSI gets a MAJOR do-over. It should be a nice big play area where kids can roam freely while parents can sit down in some shade to eat at the defunct Aunt Polly's and rest while supervising. I know there's already a playground but it's sad and pathetic.

There are people who feel Tom Sawyer Island is a sacred area that must be preserved as like Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and Carousel of Progress but there's no basis for it other than:
- "The park opened with it". Disneyland's version is the best version with actual history going back to Walt.
- Person arguing with me goes "It's called atmospheric theming. If you want a better ride park, go to Cedar Point". Essentially arguing that the area is completely justified solely by being a big piece of scenery to look at, and anything additional is just a bonus. Frankly, though, the area isn't THAT nice to look at and especially not for how much space it consumes. It's like having Discovery Island occupying park space. Obviously the riverboat is awesome especially at night but otherwise that boardwalk area is just a spot to watch the fireworks.
>>
I've been visiting MK almost annually since 2002 when I was a kid and went to Tom Sawyer Island maybe 3 times when we were so bored we goofed off and did stuff we would normally not waste time on. The area was simply never as good as it should have been. I could totally think of a bunch of ways to bring it to life and draw in people but I'd still remove the Fort island section for Villains land.

But clearly Disney is too retarded these days to do any of that shit so instead I'm happy with cars land. I have more sympathy for Muppetvision leaving and Splash Mountain being utterly ruined.

It's not about the island attraction being removed... Theme parks (especially MK) are more than just rides.
The river is the most aesthetic part of one of the most beautiful parks in the US, and to tear it out, to put in some tacky IP is such a waste...
>>
>>2740457
Disney does rockwork very well, I'm sure Cars land will look nice too. The downside is just missing out on viewing the castle and the riverboat at the same time at night. But who knows just how much the firework sightlines will be affected until it's built.
Also again, the riverboat is doing the vast majority of the legwork. If it was just the island and the log rafts people would be celebrating right now.

I could totally see Disney docking the boat at Grand Floridian/Wilderness Lodge and charging people to ride it out for elegant (expensive) nighttime dinners with views of the fireworks on lake. I honestly feel like that would be way better than riding around a fake river staring at fake deer and a proper way to 'show the boat respect' for the fans.

This. The park is is the most attended in the world. The water feature is part of the aesthetic. It has the suspension disbelief going on. Filling it in and paving it should be punishable by death

Family attractions bring in way more money than face melting coasters because families spend money in the park and eltorofaggots just buy the annual pass and drink water all day.
>>
>>2740592
Only problem I have with it is the length doesnt seem very long. Would have benefitted from an extended indoor section with lava pools and stuff, but the emphasis on practical sets over screens is noted and appreciated. Also seems to have the same problem Rip Saw Falls has where the ceiling of the indoor section isn't themed and breaks immersion. Would it have killed them to do some rockwork in here?

I was born in 1997. I grew up in the Bay Area, near Pixar. I had friends dads who worked there or in the animation business. I went on a kids tour once or twice. When Cars came out, everyone was like "wow, the first bad Pixar movie."

It's funny that the merchandising revenue from Cars has carried what everyone agreed at the time was a bad movie to this level of prominence.

I agree that Tom Sawyer Island is kinda lame, but getting rid of the river seems like a bad movie. Rivers are nature. They are a source of comfort.

Long, long ago my dad built me a big headboard (actually two identical ones) and bookshelves themed to the old Goofy's Barnstormer. Headboard is just a really faithful recreation of the barn cutout in picrel. I really should take a picture and post them here but they're at my parents house. They're probably the coolest /rcg/ & /tpg/ merch anyone in this thread has.

Dad also built sisters a bunk bed+closets combo 'themed' to the Minnie Mouse house although it was just painted the same colors, you wouldn't know otherwise. That one did not survive the move so no proof it existed.

Also it's a studio park. Things turning into a mishmash is kinda natural since you have the "Sets on the backlot" excuse. It does make me wonder though if that rumored "Luigi's Mansion expansion for Epic's first post-opening attraction to take advantage of Monsters being Nintendo's neighbor over there" has enough room to be brought over to Japan too.

I'm just curious about the layout. Looks like they're making a family coaster but it's 40 feet above the ground, which is honestly kinda fun.
It could make the ride seem scarier without having high G forces (concept art shows only lap bars anyway)
But mostly I think the big empty building would be cool to see assuming it's lit properly and not just another Space Mountain.

Things I expect to see:
>Boo laughs and all the doors light up red
>a door opens and the portal effect into a bedroom with Randall is cool

Shoot, meant to post the model. I know it probably won't look like this when finished but I hope they keep the height at least

It's a similar thing to Disneyland Paris. Tiny entrance way that opens up into a surprisingly deep, wide indoor section with a shitload of turnstiles that can hold a lot of people.

Wonder if it'll have the same amusing problem as DLP where you lose all your phone signal going under the hotel, so if you're not connected to the wifi, you lose the ability to accent your tickets (not helped by the shitty DLP app deciding it needs to auto-refresh every minute)
>>
>>2741102
There's still the Paris ToT which has the same ride system as the California one. Only slight difference is they added a creepy girl to it to give you a randomly selected ghost story.
>>
>>2741500
Why do they keep designing things like this? The wait in line in the morning is miserable cause tourists cannot figure out how to scan a ticket and you have to wait for an entire hispanic family to learn basic technology

It's gonna take an hour just to get into EU
>>
>>2741502
No one's really come up with a solution for the "confused tourist fumbling with tickets they don't understand" problem. Before tickets on apps they could send people to booths or machines to pick up their tickets first and problems would be solved there. Now everyone does all this stuff at the turnstyles and you get the large families with ticket complications (or just slow to pick them up).

This will be the first mega-capacity park to be built since Phone and printed tickets make up 99% of people entering so hopefully they've come up with some way of keeping lines flow. Even something simple that having every 1 queue being served by 2 turnstiles would help a lot.
>>
>>2741504
Eventually I hope we get to a place where, similar to the sun pass, you can just walk under a scanner that communicates wirelessly with your phone and you just literally walk in. They are already violating my privacy by scanning my face. Why can't it just be tied to that and I just....walk in?
>>
>>2741510
You can't trust people to have the contactless set up properly and you can't trust people with scannable/printed tickets not to go into the contactless queue. You can't even have it so that if someone had a problem you just move them to the side whilst the queue keeps going because these families just don't fucking move.
>>
>>2741510
I believe that was the rumor (and the reason they switched to face scanning)
>>
>>2741519
This technology and the passholder entrance becoming a permanent feature of the parks is all I ask. Well that and a covered walkway between lost continent and where the tribute store exit is. I'm tired of having to walk all the way out of the park just because Hagrid's dropped to 45mins. By the time I get there it's already at 70 and the train is always a 50 minute wait defeating the whole purpose.

That’s the major problem with these newer attractions. They’re not timeless and they’re based on IPs that won’t be culturally relevant in a few years. Cars is considered one of the weaker IPs and it’s only real cultural relevance is the attraction in Disneyland that’s been there for years now. Which they aren’t even cloning in this entire Cars-themed land that’s going into the MK replacing their iconic water feature. An Encanto attraction is stupid because Encanto is becoming irrelevant. The Zootopia attractions are based on Disney+ ratings of people turning it on in the background not actually watching it. Also not relevant. Even Indiana Jones, which was obviously more popular than these IPs, has become irrelevant and the last film was very unsuccessful.
>>
>>2741920
This is what happens when shareholders get to influence creative decisions
>>
Is this the end of Grant "The Fag Beater" Seeker?
>>
>>2741920
Disney's planning to produce a sequel to Encanto, and it's still their best IP to associate with South American wildlife.
>>
>>2741966
Supposedly it'll stay open until 2026 because of announcements from disney saying that 2025 is the last time you'll be able to ride it.

Irrelevant IPs isn't necessarily a problem, as long as it's actually good and properly introduces the audience to the story.

Emphasis on IP attractions over attractions that touch universal themes like "pirates as a concept, haunted house as a concept, humanity's past and future" is literally the primary issue with Disney
>>
>>2742135
They should probably consider how universally appealing it is before they choose the specific IP, HTTYD may be or become irrelevant, but both dragons and vikings are popular, beloved concepts, so even if no one cares about the franchise, the universal appeal of the base concepts will prevent the theming from becoming irrelevant.

For the Disney IPs, old school car culture and racing are universal concepts, but there's nothing universal about sentient cars. Maybe it could be cheaply rethemed to the universal concept by removing the IP parts and focusing on the universal parts, but Cars stands the risk of at least being partly dated.
Don't know enough about the other things, Zootopia is probably not very universal, an animal city appeals to the furry fandom but it's not that popular of a base concept with the general public.
Indiana Jones can be universal forever though, the base concept of Indiana Jones is something people carry an idea of and respect for even if they aren't familiar with Indiana Jones, make something quality out of Indiana Jones and keep in mind the universal parts, and it'll never become irrelevant.
>>
>>2742137
>For the Disney IPs, old school car culture and racing are universal concepts, but there's nothing universal about sentient cars.
This is why I feel the land going to Magic Kingdom won't live up to the quality of the original DCA version. The DCA land mainly focuses on the universal concepts (and general Route 66 nostalgia) given that the original plan didn't even feature IP, while the MK ride doesn't seem to focus on it as much. It doesn't help that the former replaced a parking lot while the latter will replace the Rivers of America.

Tells you very little about it, both ToT and star tours have seats like that.

Rumors suggest the ride is suspended and hanging from a telescopic mount though. I personally think it's going to tilt side to side and bounce up and done but it won't have anything like the rise of the resistance drop, let alone ToT

Disney is lame-spensive. Imagine paying all that money to stay in an Incredibles themed room?

Cedar Point is cheap-spensive. It's not that hard on the wallet but even premium rooms at the on-site hotel feel kinda chintzy.

I am intersted to see Hershey Park. I'm going in the summer and we booked a top tier room at the Hershey Hotel. Supposed to be rather nice. My girlfriend is excited about complimentary nightly fire/smores and the chocolate couples massage.
>>
>>2742190
So it's like forbidden journey and tower of terror had a baby. I wish this wasnt being used for harry potter cause I'm kinda tired of that IP and this has a lot of dark ride potential. 90s imagineering would have made a masterpiece with this.

>>

Skill issue.
Run the numbers and you'll find you can take your family to Japan or Europe, spend a day at their Disney park if you need to satisfy your 'Disney adult' wife, and spend the rest of the trip checking out a foreign place you've never seen.
You'll save money even with international airfare.
>>
>>2742628
Disney in Japan cost me $55 per ticket and my hotel was only $50 a night. If flights weren't so expensive from where I live, I'd just take my soon-to-be family there instead of any of the American parks.
>>
>>2742503
the remodeled rooms at all-star movies and music are so nice it's just not worth spending money to stay somewhere more expensive. The nicer hotels do have better transportation but that is made moot when you can just buy an uber twice a day at all-star and still end up cheaper than staying at a nicer disney hotel

>>
>>2742812
Cars, yes. Ratatouille, no, that's the best film Pixar has ever made. The ride is kinda shit tho.
>>
>>2742547
Problem is, people are paying for those lame $1,000+ Incredibles-themed rooms. That's part of why they're $1,000, they have the demand. A lot of times you can't even get a reservation. I was surprised to see Animal Kingdom Lodge going for sub-$500 recently. Demand must have plummeted because of its remote location. None of these hotels are worth it.

How much did that top-tier room at the Hershey cost? It's gotta be $700 or more, that's also an expensive place. I saw some videos on it, looks like a a really nice hotel at least. Unlike the Disney deluxe hotels which are faux luxury. I splurged and stayed at Breakers at Cedar Point a few times this summer. It wasn't a luxury hotel and it was expensive.. but we got a beach front suite for $430 a night that could fit 6 people. Screen balcony overlooking the beach. And you can come and go to Cedar Point a short walk away plus there was a hibachi and other (chain sadly) restaurants and pizza delivery. Room was above average but not luxury. I enjoyed it.
>>
>>2742823
Should've learnt from the DLP ratatouille and given the cars motion bases and hid the floor from view. They just picked completely the wrong type of vehicles for that ride
>>
>>2742812
Monster Inc and Finding Nemo were also mediocre. Never understood why they were even successful... especially Finding Nemo which was quite a stinker IMO. I think both Cars and Ratatouille were better... but yeah Cars was considered Pixar's 2nd dud behind Bugs Life when it came out. I've always thought most of these Pixar movies were average at best and almost none worthy of making theme park attractions over (and definitely not entire themed lands). Cars going into the MK probably has more to do with cars (as in automobiles, not the IP) than the franchise itself. Which is why it made more sense replacing the speedway but whatever. The company is run by morons
>>
>>2742645
The remodeled rooms are certainly nicer than what they used to be and make good use of the tiny space but they should never have been so tiny to begin with. The walls are still thin enough to hear noise in the next room and outside. The location stinks. Right now the price isn't terrible because demand is lower but for around that price you can go nearby offsite and get 2 bedroom villa with a mini water park and other amenities at multiple properties along the border. Unless you really need that Disney IP and being slightly closer with an official transport.
>>
Florida man, if you're still here (the guy who moved to Orlando a few months ago) what's your favorite Christmas event or Christmas atmosphere in Orlando?
>>
>>2742834
Not that Florida man, but unless you like the grinch or ever wanted to attend the macy's thanksgiving day parade, univeral's is pretty weak. Not much else to do despite the park looking very nice. Compared to Mardi Gras and HHN it's the redheaded stepchild seasonal event, in my opinion. They dont even do food trucks for it.

>>
>>2742846
I've never been but it sounds weak. SeaWorld looks like they have the best. Disney's is massively overrated. When I was a kid the whole resort was decorated nicely and the hotels had Santa and events. They started doing that Osbourne lights show at MGM which got better every year even after they got rid of residential street. Contemporary had red and green lights. Mickey's Very Merry was and is still a weak event and that Hollywood Studios event looks even more lame. Massively overpriced. They don't decorate every gift shop and restaurant anymore. Probably the best thing on property is all the decorated RVs at Fort Wilderness which isn't even an official event.
>>

The whole Orlando park culture just seems so strange to me. You never see people meming up a pizza restaurant with the CA parks.
My theory is that since parks are a bigger part of Orlando's culture it attracts more annoying people.
>>
>>2742862
Oh it definitely does. The CA parks are mostly locals. The Orlando parks are mostly tourists from all of North and South American plus other international travelers (especially Bongs). The CA parks see much less of them. So you get Earl the squirrel in the tribute store. Dozens of videos about the (stolen?) animatronic Buzzy.Disney Food Blog and others raving over deep-fried Sysco frozen spring rolls with cheeseburger filling inside of them. Dole Whip has become its own sub culture.
>>
>>2742862
I feel like Pizzerizzo is more a meme because it's another underwhelming Disney Muppet project. Crappy pizza and being objectively lamer then Jim's original pitch of "Animatronic rats delivering pizzas while seeing them working with the Swedish Chef in the kitchen on video screens" just gave the whole thing an aura of supreme irony bait.
>>
When I knew I was going to both Disney World and Universal Orlando, I just stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott because it was almost exactly halfway between them. Since I had a rental car, it didn't make much difference.
>>
>>2742874
Was the money saved with the hotel cheaper than the parking fees at both parks?
>>
>>2742879
Disney (budget) Hotels are priced where they're still a significant markup over mid end hotels, even taking into account the money saved from parking. It's why it was such a big deal when Disney started charging hotel guests for parking, it was a massive price hike that visibly cut one of the benefits.

As a Brit it became noticeable that you could save a lot of money getting a mid or budget hotel outside of Disney property and getting Ubers into Disney (especially in places like Maingate which are just off Disney property). I think Disney underestimated how many people would use Uber to get to Disney which is why they scrapped the (hotel) parking fees.

On an unrelated note, if that other Britanon who was looking at LAX flights is reading this, the BA sale has started and it looks like you can get LHR > LAX tickets about £100 cheaper than before.

As a park or for coasters? Its elite coaster collection is second only to Cedar Point but as an overall park it’s just a regional amusement park. Dollywood is way better as an overall park. I think a lot of people who over rate Hershey have never been to literally any other park. Kids rides are lacking. Water park sucks. Layout sucks. Operations suck. It can be miserably crowded like Cedar Point. It did have roaming bands playing which is nice and you don’t see that much anymore. Coasters are great though
>>
>>2743061
I get it, I’ve stayed at most of the hotels on property. But the problem is the property is huge and you need a bus to see everything. And you need to wait for that bus. Yes you can stay at Caribbean beach and take the skylines to two parks or the monorail loop to one parks but not all parks. It’s all spread out. There are cheaper resorts along world drive that are closer to some parks than the All Stars is. I do get why people want to turn their brains off and not deal with traffic and use the transportation without leaving property…. But it’s not like Universal or Disneyland, it’s spread out across a huge property. A car gets you around faster and you can leave the property to see the other attractions. The magic is gone from Disney anyways, people who spend their entire vacation there at this point are idiots
>>
>>2743124
If Disney cut all the retarded liberals and DEI shit from their management they would very rapidly regain dominance in orlando and send Universal to the shadow realm. I say this as a huge Universal fanboy.

Disney has the best technology, the best artists, the best designers, the best ride concepts, the best everything. They are currently being hampered into self-annihilation by their insistence promoting a retarded ideology over continuing to innovate and improve where it matters. They do this purely out of disgust for their own, white male dominated, history. So whatever, fuck em. If they want to continue spending 2 Billion dollars on OC Dunut steele star wars planets no one gives a fuck about let them. I really hope one of the rogue billionaires in the US decides to build a 3rd competitor in Orlando. Disney is on their back hemorrhaging blood. They have never been weaker.
>>
>>2743124

>>
>>2743237
These parks operate with a very small profit margin. Even a 2% reduction in annual attendance puts a huge impact on the balance sheet. I think it is a bigger deal than you think that people will be flying internationally to orlando and potentially not visiting disney at all or cutting time spent in disney short to go to EU
>>
>>2743232
Disney resting on its laurels cutting costs and getting lazy has nothing to do with whatever conspiracy theories about DEI you believe or whatever they've basically lost the initiative ever since universal started hiring ex imagineers and opened Wizarding world basically everything they've done since then has been reactionary to the big innovative thing unkversal did this time technology is very much dead even artists designers and ride concept also should all go to universal no contest at this point last good thing Disney did was avatarland whoch was a blatant reaction to the wizarding world and also about a property nobody actually cares about 5 minutes after seeing it also universal has the benefit of not being afraid to put in things that are above the intensity of kiddie ride for older guests hence world class thrill rides like hulk and velocicoaster

Because they have an almost religious fanbase that will lick literal cowshit if it was shaped like mouse ears. The problem is, you can only milk the same group of people so much and if you begin losing status as a family vacation everyone in America wants to make, you eventually cease to expand.

The "risks" they do take are largely dictated by their love of woke bullshit. The sequel star wars trilogy getting a 2 billion dollar expansion despite being dogshit movies no one likes was a risk...and a bad one. Replacing Splash Mountain with party planning dindu mountain was a risk and a bad one. Building an entire star wars hotel for theater kids that costs 5k and provided less engaging gameplay than a smart phone game for toddlers was a risk and a bad one.

It's the ideology dictating these moves that is the problem. They dont want to make awesome shit like expedition everest anymore. They dont dream big, they dream brown. It's more important to them that what they build is pushing some girlboss feminist liberal allegory bullshit. Everything they make is in pursuit of a utopian progressive ideal that is absolute nonsense and you just see the quality of the parks diminish yearly unless you're one of the minority lgbt1iaxyz faggots they endlessly pander to despite your extreme minority status.

If you want a glimpse of what they can be making without this fucking retarded ideology look at what the asian parks are making overseas.
>>
>>2743411
You're mistaking the symptom for the cause. Disney management just tries to chase the money, and political pandering is part of that. If ideology was the end all be all they wouldn't be removing a tranny character from one of their movies.
>If you want a glimpse of what they can be making without this fucking retarded ideology look at what the asian parks are making overseas.
This is more because those parks are partially or fully owned by people who are willing to spend, like OLC or the Chinese government.
Look at DLP which they fully own and you see much of the same failings, like removing the Nautilus squid or the existence of Cars Road Trip.
>>
>>2743417

Bob Iger coming back into power has a lot to do with that.

They spent TWO BILLION DOLLARS making a star wars land not set in any known star wars planet to promote their feminist allegory star wars reimaging. They spent 400 million dollars on the star wars hotel. They spent 200 million making Lightyear where Buzz is best friends with a black lesbian. 175 million for Turning Red. Etc etc I could go on.

You are wrong about these being financially stingy decisions. They are investing literally billions of dollars into this ideology and it's only recently that Bob Iger has expressed concern that it is alienating their fanbase and not a great business decision
>>
>>2743420
Iger was always the one pushing ideology since he was desperate to run for President as a Democrat as his post-Disney plan. Chapek was barely in there long enough to actually greenlight anything.

DLP isn't exactly fair given up until a few years ago it was third party owned and suffered from a chronic lack of investment and upkeep. They spent something like $1b just refurbishing the park. No excuses for the Frozen expansion taking 6 years and ending up a clone of the Epcot version but at least they've started work on the Lion King ride.

>>2743434

>>
>>2743616
Safety was absolutely a factor considering this has the same launch system and retractable brake fins and flag plates as TTD. High maintenance costs is another factor, it cost over a million dollars a year to maintain. Cedar Fair runs the company now and they didn’t want two of these monsters
>>
>>2743643

>>
>>2743644

No it wasn't. It was 100% about money. If the TT2 refurb had worked the first time it might have gotten that, now they're losing even more money on it and they decided 2 of them would just cost too much to keep around.
>>
>>2743638

He shouldn't really get too much credit for that. All Disney did there was not fuck up an already profitable product they acquired. They let the people who made the first two make a third one without interfering and got to reap the easy billy. Shame this couldn't have been done with Star Wars which has been stripped of its cultural relevancy in a manner it will likely never recover from.
>>
>>2743635
They put all their atmosphere points into the Chocolate Factory Tour Ride next door.
>>
>>2743663
Mine too, but I would still put Dollywood above Hershey. Hershey has better coasters, but Dollywood's are still good. Dollywood has better food, staff, atmosphere, and entertainment. Hershey does have the advantage of being near multiple other parks, so you could do multiple in one trip. Dollywood, however, has probably the best location for a park in the US, being nestled right in the Great Smoky Mountains. To me, Hershey is a one-day experience, whereas Dollywood works better into a multi-day trip.
>>
>>2743657
People only have so much holiday time. It's one of the things that'll cause Disney issues with Epic Universe.

Disney + Universal for a week is now too intensive so people will start picking one of the other if they only have 7 days.
>>
>>2743668
Chocolate World must be why people sometimes compare Hershey to “Disney”. That and Hershey has their own hotels (which are very nice but very expensive). Chocolate World is cool and the dark ride is cool but it’s a separate attraction.. and it’s free to enter. The park itself is a mostly unthemed regional park.
>>

Even the monorail hotels need buses to see 2/4 parks (sometimes 3/4 like when the Epcot line was closed for almost 2 years not long ago). The buses are usually late and when it’s busy you have to queue and wait for the next one. Especially if there are people in ECVs waiting. They get priority even if they show up last and they take up 1/4 of the bus per ECV (and take forever to load and unload).

You have my sympathies, lurking park workers.

Merry Christmas, /tpg/

I hope Santa brings you a fast pass and prevents predominantly African American high schools from having their end of the year party at your local park.

That’s definitely him. He seems to have left the thread though.

The thread is pretty slow and his last post was two weeks ago, I doubt he left especially taking anonymous posts into account.
Surreal to see zoomertube-style editing from an /rcg/ anon though

I'm still here. I'm also the OP of like the last 10+ of these threads lol

Just got back to FL after my first trip back home. Good to remind myself why I left. Got to explain to lots of old confused relatives about my new life.

I'm kinda surprised that video has gotten as much traction as it has. Lots of comments and DM's telling me they did something similar. Idk what to do about all the people trying to meet up now though. coordinating and meeting up in parks is a pain in the ass. I plan on doing a follow up soon, going in depth of the orlando theme park lifestyle, going every day.

I've honestly been unimpressed by disney and universal christmas stuff so far. they put up some decorations, but theres not much extra going on. The parks are just stupidly more crowded. Seaworld has been killing it though. Great park atmosphere, shows, food, and they have been giving tons of free stuff to pass members lately. I've probably gotten about $100 of free food from SW and BG in the past 2 months

Shit I was wondering if that was you just as a laugh; didn't realize it actually would be. Well I'm glad it seems to be working out for you
