The situation is that it's like a mix of thailand and vietnam with less rules, more drugs, and more danger the deeper you get into the illicit side of things.

Cambodians are a lot more violent and shitty than their neighbors, you'll see khmer girls fighting every night in the bar district. You'll hear about people being mugged/robbed by ladyboys quite often. The desperation is palpable. You can still have a good time, but you will feel like its at the expensive of others, rather than like you are the one being catered to and used.

Whites have a growing (and deserved imo) reputation for being shit-stirring cheapskates compared to Asians. Most of the nightlife is increasingly shifting to cater to asians, and most of the girls no longer consider white men to be particularly desirable beyond others, because of the negative stigma associated with white foreigner behavior, and knowing she has no future with him.

Dating a khmer girl as a white dude has gone from 'hard' tier to 'impossible' tier. You basically only have access to prostitutes, sugar babies, or desperate single mothers. You need to be fully established long term and employed in country to date local, regular khmer chicks just want nothing to do with us.

Meanwhile they will fuck around with any korean or chink with money, because of the positive social standing associated with them, and possibility of a much higher payout than compared to a white dude who doesn't spend frivilously.

The language barrier is also quite extreme in most cases, and cambodians are increasingly learning asian languages instead of english (which makes sense).

It's not 'over-over', but it's definitely grim on the legitimate dating front.

I've spent a lot of time in cambodia. The pedo shit isn't around anymore and isn't surface level at all. Back in 2016 I saw some of it going on, but a bunch of the places it was operating out of in and nearby PP were cleaned up. Didn't see it post 2019 whatsoever.

As for nightlife, in early 2024 it still felt like it was suffering post covid slump, and having thailand slurp its milkshake. Not really sure what happened, In 2019 and before I was able to 'find the party' easily. Couldn't do it in 2024. Don't think it was an age thing, just economic depression and lack of foreigners.
