Any Australian’s fled? If I can’t afford a house, I don’t see the point in being here. But on the other hand, our healthcare is decent and on a global level, I can make decent money here (despite being a rent cuck).

Perhaps the grass is always greener, but I’d like some alternatives.
>>
No but I think of it every day. This country is unliveable now.
>>
>>2740373
It’s funny, in terms of seniority I’m higher than my father was in a similar industry. He bought a house, no problem, and raised 3 kids on his income. Mum only started to work when we were older.

I literally need a 500k deposit to buy somewhere given how little the bank will lend me on a single income with a small family.
>>
>>2740372
unless you're retiring early or can do something from your laptop you're best off where you are

t. leaf
>>
>>2740375
same here. moved rural thanks to WFH options, no kids, relatively 'cheap' hobbies, higher position than my old man in the public service when he retired, yet effectively earning a lot less due to wages not going up with inflation and gimped super compared to the scheme he was on.
Will never be able to afford my own home and NOT be in debt until I'm 90 (even for a shitty 'starter' home where I basically lose any lifestyle enjoyment just to service the mortgage)

Orange juice now costs $10
Health insurance goes up every fucking year because 'aging population', yet my parents get fuck all support from private healthcare even though they've been members for decades.
Electricity and gas costs are a joke
Fuck all renters rights on top of that

trying to go down the FIRE route by investing/saving as much as I can and move somewhere with a relatively low COL. Where that is, not entirely sure yet, but you can bet your ass I won't be the only one doing that, so it'll likely mess up my plans.

Either that or invest in $ROPE when I've simply had enough.. Which is seemingly like a viable option at this stage.
>>
>>2740401
Yeah I just bought some nudie juice for my wife it was 10 fucking dollars for orange juice. Even the cheap shit is the same price basically
>>
>>2740372
Im 26 started working at 18 making 50k take home construction labourer lived at home for 2 years and saved 80k brought a 2 bed apartment in western sydney for 270k now worth 450k switched jobs to earthmoving make 90k take home payed off apartment, and now invest most of my paycheck. Pull those bootstraps unironically.
>>
Don't buy a house in a states capital and Australia isn't that expensive, I own a house in Australia and currently live overseas. Trust me we have it good.
>>
>>2740483
Any suggestions? Wagga’s a shithole, most of the south coast is too expensive or a shithole like Nowra. Some of the small towns along the Murray River seem nice. Bathurst seems OK too. I can do my hobbies anywhere, just need nature and decent schools
>>
>>2740431

Enjoy lung cancer buddy
>>
>>2740490
mark my words, Nowra will become gentrified as fuck in about 10 years.
all those caravan and 4wd dealerships will be turned into medium/high density housing
>>
man i thought us burgers had it bad. what the fuck is wrong with anglos where they can't make an economy that functions without colonies?
>>
>>2740594

The British Empire's economy has always been concentrated to a few select areas, geographically and industry wise. Even in Victorian Era Britain, most people in the countryside had lives that changed little from the 15th century. It's why Anglo economies tend to be so lopsided. Combine that problem with a Norman-descended ruling elite that sees its self as a difference race from the lower classes; there's very little incentive amongst government bodies to set equitable economic policies due to the top-heavy outlook of their culture and societies.

Can confirm I earn 110k and am currently wearing socks with holes in them because I can't afford to replace them.

Sydney's night life also speaks for itself, no one can afford a few drinks down the pub (which use to be the aussie-est thing ever)

I want to flee but chained to the mortgage...but yeah there is nothing here for me....

Debt and completly sexless. I had more sex in China in a year than I have in Australia in 32 yrs

How anyone cannot afford a house in Australia is beyond me. Like sure, if you're a migrant that's a fresh from India Uber driver, I get that, but being born here? Native born Aussies with citizenship have some of the easiest conditions on the planet. You can just jump on a plane and do some FIFO work for a couple months, then fuck off to SEA for the rest of the year, use your extra cash to dump it on those same mining companies on the ASX, and in like 5 years of this you'll easily be able to afford some McMansion in whatever new development they're knocking up on the outskirts of the main city. No need for university, no need for this or that, hell you can comfortably sit on cenno in some shareflat in one of these rural towns until the mining company picks you up for an odd job or two.

Its just baffling how people can complain that 99% of the Australian economy is rock based (or facilitating the extraction of rocks) then fail to identify that they themselves ought to be investing in rocks.

>proximity to Asia means cheaper appliances and cars
>fantastic women. I will leave it at that lest my post gets shoa'd
>no gym culture so mog everyone effortlessly
>tip anyone the equivalent of $3 and experience supreme service
>if you are in Manila, it's a 1 hour flight to amazing beaches, perfect for the weekend
>healthcare at private hospitals is not bad

Just avoid Mindanao, and do not live away from the cbd. - the traffic will fuck you.

I could go on, ask if you have any questions.
If you can find a way to work remote and earn aud, living in the Philippines is a lifehack to happiness.

Australia is miserable, place is flooded with jeets which has fucked everything.

There's zero opportunity in many areas of Australia due to demographic change. And that hits young workers extraordinary hard, it's a three way split between leaving the county, killing yourself or joining a terror group.

If you're at a general economic disadvantage can't can't secure a reasonable income, you don't recive any reprive from high living costs, and you've got no access to education or training than is game over. You're looking down the barrel of 40 years of poverty exploitation and abuse.

Yes, I left for the UK and have largely mixed feelings about it.
British people are way more open, outgoing, friendly and cultured than Australians, nightlife over here absolutely fucking SHITS over even Australia in the early-mid 00s and nothing beats walkable cities, never have to deal with driving 40km to fucking work in peak hour traffic hitting traffic lights every 2 minutes while people road rage out.
That said, UK has massive downsides.
>1: Immigration are fucking a nightmare to deal with, rip you off, and treat you worse than the million indian and africans they ship over here.
>2: UK is a fucking DUMP. The cities are so run down, unironically looks worse for the most part than Eastern Europe. London is genuinely one of the most stressful, shitty ass and awful places i've ever been in my life. (also has some of the worst nightlife in the UK, the city literally shuts at 11pm and you have to travel pretty far to get home, so pretty much the Australia nightlife experience)
>3: Can't get away from people, no real nature. Go to the Peak district, people everywhere, Cotswalds, people everywhere, Mendip people everywhere, Lake District people everywhere. One of my favourite things to do back home was do bushwalking in Alpine regions of Australia, or go out to rural areas and watch the stars, never get that in the UK really.
>4: dogshit wages. The UK is basically thirdy tier in terms of wages. Any entry-mid level position here, a 15 year old at Maccas in Australia would be paid more than. Very bad workers rights and protections as well, no penalty rates, overtime rates or anything.
>5: TERRIBLE WEATHER. I genuienly cannot stress how fucking bad UK weather is and how depressing Autumn and Winter are with it getting dark at 3pm and the days feeling super dark in general. Not to mention it never really truly rains during the day, it just constantly misty spit that keeps everything damp and shit.

Honestly I would move back to Australia, if Australia actually had walkable cities and Australian's weren't cliquey snitch asocial assholes. My social life and social skills improved 100 fold moving to the UK, the benefits of walkable cities are just that good to honestly tell Australia to go fuck itself, despite there being many things in Australia I miss. If I lived back in australia, I would be back in a boring as fuck car-centric suburban hell with only my highschool friends to hang with and I don't think I could take that anymore with how much better social life and night life is in the UK.
>>
>>2741320
For nightlife, in Australia you are basically forced to be involved in the Doof scene if you want any good aspect of it. It ends up way cheaper because good drugs + BYO alcohol means it will always be cheaper than whatever the fuck they charge you for booze in an Australian pub these days.
>>
>>2743732

Well i moved to australia as a kid in the 90s. I was born in south africa. Went back to see family and go a job there for 2 years then moved to the us for 6 years now back in australia as parents are getting older. I loved usa i loved idaho. Health care is realy good cost me 5k a year but it was realy good. I mean you pay that in taxes in australia and honestly us shits all over aus health care. As long as you have a good paying job you will be able to pay for good health care. Americans dont like paying for other peoples stuff so fair enough. I loved usa. Id rate it 10 out of 10 if not for the winters. Well south africa um the shine wore off realy quick and i hated it. Its a violent place. It felt like a jail inside your house with electric fences and bars on windows and doors had to pay a lot for private health care that was kinda ok but they goverment health care was dog shit. I stayed with family. They had to be armed at all times. Now that was the same in idaho but i mean they stay strapped because they can and thats ok but in south africa home invasions car jackings ect happen every day i was happy to go to the us i felt so safe. It took me two months to realise i can walk to the shop at night i wasnt leaving a huge gap in traffic so i could make a quick get away if i had to and didnt have to run red lights. So all in all i loved idaho i went to montana a lot for work i loved it and washington state was the same. Well i also love australia. Its like south africa without the crime. Yeah its a police state and its housing is mental but i live in a rural area now and its still cheap but jobs are more trades ect. Australia isnt the same place it was in 90s. The citys are impossible for young people to buy a house and the goverment treats people like slaves and health care is ok if its private but thats not cheap here. Goverment health care here is dog shit. Not as bad as south africa but give it time and it will be.

After 6 weeks, I'm pretty sad to be leaving. Great beaches. Wide spectrum of attractive white and asian women with some being down to slobber on my dick. Almost every dude I met and hung out with was chill. Unfortunately every friend group I hung with always had that one friend nobody in the group likes. I don't get it. Don't waste time shit talking people you don't like, just stop being friends with them. Would repeat the visit tho.
Also, holy fuck you guys fucking love cricket!

As opposed to? We have an extremely shallow market. There is just no opportunity here, banks don't give out loans to good business ideas (only mortgages) and everyone else is afraid of hard yakka.

>>just put your money in the market goy
Australian Stock Exchange is set up to be boomerproof. ASX have no idea why a stock is rising? Trade halt. ASX have no idea why a stock is falling? Trade halt. Company doesn't fulfil the autistic reporting requirements? Trade halt. Markets open late morning, close early in the afternoon, nothing can possibly run away from you and you hardly need to implement stoplosses. Its the Fisher-Price of stock exchanges, its really difficult to lose any sort of substantial cash on this thing.

sheffield is one of the UK's most underrated cities. I'm talking about underrated in terms of living there, for tourism there's essentially nothing unless you have very niche interests and want to visit a museum about the industrial revolution, or watch united lose again

it got fucked and hard by thatcher / deindustrialisation, and people tend to think it never left the dreadful economic slump that followed, but it's no longer the same place you saw in The Full Monty. Stuff actually happens at night, plus you can get out into the peak district very easily. peaks get crowded in popular spots but it is much better once you walk five minutes away from the car park

I am always surprised that people voluntarily move to the UK though. It's just such a crap place to live if you don't earn a very high wage (even on 90th percentile income you can feel poor). and as you say the weather is utter shite most of the time. Even when it is sunny the humidity we get here at the fag end of the Gulf Stream means it is oppressively hot and sticky rather than pleasantly warm. On the other end of the spectrum snowfall is uncommon to rare unless you live in very rural upland areas. So you don't really get nice scenes to look at. It's just coldish damp and overcast all the time and it fucking sucks

Oh no. Canada is because Canadians are the most pathetic selfish weak government worshipping vermin imaginable. My parents moved to this shithole from the UK when I was a kid, Canada is 100x more classist and two-faced than England. Everything in this country revolves around nepotism, even down to getting a job at a till. Canada is a virtue signalling shithole that got carried by two superpowers successively, and Canada's entire history is people with ambition and intelligence moving to the country to the south. Believe me, if it was up to Canadians this country would be even worse. They have a juche around Trudeau and given that 1/2 the country thought the truckers were EBIL YT SUPREMACIST NAHTZEES, if it was up to Canadians, this country would still be under covid lockdowns. The only based thing Trudeau ever did was rolling out MAID to his faggot support base.

In my experience, Australians can be very envious and bitter. When meeting a person who has achieved excellence in some particular profession, they are more likely to bitch and try to cut the man down to size instead of viewing it as an opportunity to broaden their horizons and be grateful for an opportunity to learn something new. Aussies are the kind of people who'd rather drag you down into the mud whey they dwell. It's the exact opposite of magnanimity.
>>
>>2748046
nah we typically only do that to smug cunts who keep big-noting themselves or are shoved in our faces constantly. it's called 'tall poppy syndrome'.

For starters they don't drink. Socialising in Oz is super expensive, but if you work really hard like they do, don't drink, are a vegetarian like most jeets, and spend your free time on free activities like internetting, talking on your phone, going to the beach or hiking, you can save up quickly.

If you work moderately and like going to the pub, seeing bands or eating out, like a lot of Aussies do, you'll blow all your cash quickly.
