I've never been on holiday. Yes I know, im posting here anyway fuck you. So yeah, I never go on holiday. I have a nice car (owner paid off) and nice appartment (owner paid off) and work few times a week but just never felt the need. What do I miss out on? I'm from Europe and thought about going to like America and visit some big theme parks and go to bars maybe and see all fast food and scenery and rent a car. But going on airplane with baggage and everything just doesnt interest me
>>2744504You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders. Skip America.
>>2744516Yes but I wanna go there then go to bar and then go outside when drunk and look at very big roads and then hopefully the sky is nice and look at stars and its all quiet and see mountains or something in background and look at very big roads and think to myself so this is America im now at the other side of the planet etc while taking in atmosphere hearing birds and crickets i normally dont and so onisnt that worth the few thousand dollar price tag?
>>2744527Ok in that case go to Texas

America is beautiful but it's huge, so if you really want to experience America (more than just seeing some big dumpy city, and eating fast food or whatever) then you really could make multiple trips. Different states and even counties within them are just so vastly different.I live in Wisconsin and it probably is about as typical American as it gets, but only going to a handful of states and seeing for myself how different the environments, people, and everything are, makes it feel like I'm missing out by not traveling more. If you're only going to go to one state I would just look at it a lot and make sure you pick one that you really want to go to (and if you want to experience normal American life don't just go to New York City or something)
ok

>>2744540^ real america is not on the coasts, every Euro who comes to the US, always goes to NYC, LA or Florida, then hate it and think they have actually seen the country. They completely miss the natural beauty of our national parks, forests, small towns, etc. and basically everything else America has to offer. Best way to really experience the US is driving across the country.
>>2744527Sounds like you want to go to Los Angeles. Rent a car, go climb the Angeles Crest Highway, then cruise the Malibu coast and explore the canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, stare lustfully at tanned beautiful girls who act like you don't exist, catch the sun setting into the sea, and get price-gouged for parking and food and gas and a room and basically everything under the sun except for the freeways, which true to their name are free of tolls. If you have enough time, get out into the desert - Anza Borrego State Park is lovely. People rave about Joshua Tree, but it's never hit that special spot for me desu. If you really want to get out into wild America, take the 14 north to the 395 and spend a night somewhere up there along the Eastern Sierra. No it's not a national park, but the scenery is just as good.>>2744931There is no end of quaint villages and pastoral scenery in Europe. But there's no Los Angeles in Europe. Nowhere in heartland America or Europe for that matter has the mind-blowing diversity of topography and landscapes that California has. Driving across the country on an interstate is a tiring chore of passing semi after semi while keeping an eye out for the fuzz or any reckless ragey drivers.
