I'm 42 and still travel alone. I don't like travel with others for a long period, you have to sublimate your wants to them and in the end you don't get to do what you want with your time.

In Tirana, Albania I met up with a friend from the USA. Everyday he drank like 3-5 coffees at coffee shops. He is also addicted to cigarettes and before entering almost every building, I also had to waste time for him to spoke. He also was constantly calling and called by relatives. It was a good change of pace to not be alone for a few days, but it eventually got sickening having to deal with his constant delaying and bullshitting. I was handicapped by his addictions. It was a relief to get back to traveling alone.

If you get lonely just stay at a hostel and you can have some superficial interactions with fellow tourists in the common areas.

From what I've seen in Asia, young people always travel with one or more friends, or else their partner. Younger travelers tend to be a lot more normie-tier as well; clearly traveling is just an extended vacation for them before they start their career.
