What's the best ski resort for you? I had a blast at Val d'Isère.
>>2746364pitztal has nice skiing. its also very calm and family friendly .not much partys going on.its a valley next to ötztalbut last time i was there i was maybe 17 years old sölden is bad, was there 2 years ago. bunch of arrogant assholes and its quit overpriced but the slopes are nice.meiringen in switzerland has some weird spots with no gradient at all. not that big of an problem with skies but my brother and father are snowboarders and they had problems with that.
>>2746364My favorite is La Clusaz because i spent christmas in a chalet there in the past.I wouldn't say it's the best, knowing that there's luxury resorts like Gsdaat, but it's my fav.
>>2746364holiday valley is pcool
/trv/ is too poor for skiing
>>2747425just walk up the mountain lmao
I've skied mostly in the US and twice in Europe. Of all the towns I've been to, Telluride, Durango and South Lake Tahoe are my favorites in the US. Chamonix France blew them all out of the water. It had better food, better views, better resorts for 1/3 the cost, better lodging options and the villages were amazing. I don't know if I can even enjoy a US resort after Chamonix.
Taos
>>2747525Yes, we know Europe has better ski destinations than the US, but for day to day skiing, living and working next to the mountains you cannot beat SLC anywhere in the world. It's not Chamonix, obviously, there is no culture, the food sucks and the people are semi-retarded, but to be 40 minutes door to door from downtown to the ski lift is unbeatable.
>>2746364I spit on rich people
>>2747525The views are "better" in Europe but the runs are uglier because they're mostly above the tree line. I prefer skiing in the US
>>2746364Las Leñas & Bariloche (southern hemisphere)
>>2748718Don't go to Val Thorens then
>>2748718There is nothing ugly about skiing above the tree line in Chamonix son.
>>2748927That's below the tree line
I hate rich people I spit on you all for being able to ski, that was supposed to be my life
>>2748947In France, even the middle class go skiing.
>>2749035Must be nice to be middle class then
>>2748947Rich people's sports are sailing, horseback riding and polo. Skiing is for people that can plan ahead to buy a season pass and equipment in the off season. It costs less to ski for the entire winter than a large tv. The difference is that broke mfs can never plan in advance. They have the money but spend it immediately. That's the only difference and why you only see whites and asians skiing.
>>2749035Lift tickets in France were $45/day and like $500 for the season. You can buy a used set of skis all day for $75. I wouldn't exactly call 5 months of skiing for 100/month investment a rich person's sport.
