Just noticed the hotel I booked doesn't have TVs, last two times it was nice to unwind and watch random Japanese TV while I fell asleep or when I got ready in the morning.

I applied to JET as a Eurofag in my mid 20s and they actually let me know that they'd love to have me.
I'm somewhat conflicted, on one hand I'd love to go and on the other hand I'm somewhat busy with planning for the future (saving for a house, etc).

That's not how it works. During the naturalization procedure you are required to list all citizenships when they are building your family register. You might like the National Film Archive. That's in Ginza, which is 20-30 minutes by train from Shinjuku. There are also numerous camera stores there where you can buy film cameras/accessories. Ginza is a pretty nice, more high end retail area but it has its share of museums as well.
