We took our first cruise last year, on DCL, and had a great time. We enjoyed it so much we booked another cruise for this year. We felt the premium price probably filtered out a lot of the "budget crowd" and that's what made it so relaxing. Our 15 y/o loved the teen club and our adult special needs daughter loved relaxing in the adult only areas with us.Can someone with experience on other cruises compare DCL to the less premium lines? Amenities, food, atmosphere, and (probably most importantly) the other passengers? Were okay paying the premium but if we can save money and have just as good of an experience, then we wouldn't say no.
Their private island was pretty nice as well.
A Disney cruise is my literal worst nightmare of a vacation.
>>2746827I thought it was going to be terrible. I was very wrong. The price was crazy, but the experience was totally worth it.
No other cruise line has the kiddie focus of Disney combined whilst still delivering quality. That said, Disney are still massively overpriced, you can go on any family cruise line and save thousandsPremium cruise lines focus on luxury, good food, good drink lots of formality. Generally less stuff to do for kids.Mega ships cram people in and have less luxury but have shitloads of stuff to do. They can get very crowded when at capacity, especially in winter cruises where decks aren't used.Consider a family friendly line but upgrade to get access to the exclusive retreats/bars that pamper you and are less crowded. Do not do msc at all, avoid short cruises, try to avoid school holidays. Look up the crew:passenger ratio for a ship as an easily measure of quality
>>2746822Make sure you specify Castaway Cay cause their newest one is total garbage.
