Hey guys, I live in Central Europe and there's this special program that will get me a visa, so I can go for a year or so to Australia, where I can live and work

I want to try it out because I'm young (20yo) and I can speak English well. I also always wanted to visit Australia and try to live in a different culture.

My question is, if it's hard to find a decent job in Sydney as a foreigner how do Australians view people like me? Just how life could be for someone like me in Sydney in general.

I don't want to go there all naive, I want to have some real expectations. Is there anything I should know?

Australian here currently in Europe, we have it so good with our immigration its properly fucked everywhere in Europe.

To OP, definitely go to Australia I am biased but I think its one of the best countries. Fuck Sydney though man everyone goes there its overated as fuck.

Go to the Gold Coast or Perth, beautiful locations. The catch with Perth is that its so far away from everything and you need a car to see things there. Sydney will eat you up financially and spit you out.

Yeah, the problem is that the agency that offers this program operates in Sydney.
While expensive, I thought I might have a better chance of getting a job in a bigger city, no?

I mean if its your only option go for it, but I personally don't like Sydney. But I am just some random guy on a forum.

Sydney here
You are going to have to compete with cheap labor (you know where from)
Living in Sydney is difficult financially, lots of people leaving to live out in the regional country areas each year.
Sydney is a nice place to visit but even then it will hurt your wallet
