Is Russia a viable destination for tourism?
>>
>>2748473
Russia is just like China in that you will seriously struggle if you cannot understand the country's primary language. While visiting cities should be perfectly fine, if you are a solitary waanderer who always has the urge to go waandering around looking for cool places, it's inevitable that you will experience some sort of official fuckery.
>>
Getting money in is a genuine problem.

No. It's too paranoid and makes a ton of countries require a visa to enter, the tourist and general infrastructure is lacking and English proficency is poor, not to mention the war.
It's not becoming a viable tourist destination any time soon.
>>
It was sketchy maybe before invasion, now it's a hell no.

Daily reminder that this board is trash, and the FAQ in /r/AskARussian is unironically more recommended.

If you're from a developing country, such as Venezuela, South Africa, Egypt, Indonesia, or India, traveling to Russia can be a pleasant experience. It's similar to visiting a more affordable Europe. However, if you're from the Western world (the US, Canada, or Europe), you may find it challenging. Russia appears to be doing well, with economic stability largely attributed to its participation in the BRICS bloc.

The interest rate is now at 21% and 2024 had 10% inflation with a floundering ruble. Grocery stores are locking up butter now. Wouldn't call that "economic stability"
